This map governs the emergence of non-trivial behaviors and structures at both individual and social levels. In particular, we show that adding a simple imitation and deposit behavior allows the cognitive robots to adapt themselves in unknown environment to solve different navigation tasks. We show that in our architecture the individual discoveries in each robot (i.e., goals) can have an effect at the population level, which induce then a new learning at the individual level and reciprocally, from the individual to the population level. We performed a series of experimentations with robots and simulated agents to validate our system.

The fight against nosocomial infections (NI) in the intensive care units (ICU) is a good example. We will focus on a set of observations which reflect the dynamic aspect of the decision, result of the application of a Medical Decision Support System (MDSS). This system has to make dynamic decision on temporal data. We use dynamic Bayesian network (DBN) to model this dynamic process. It is a temporal reasoning within a real-time environment; we are interested in the Dynamic Decision Support Systems in healthcare domain (MDDSS).

Common research in automated negotiation is focused on investigations on negotiation protocol and strategy. However, the applications of automated negotiation systems depend on other components as preferences. This paper discusses the utility of these negotiation components among others and proposes a negotiation guiding framework using web services technology and describes the process of the whole system. This proposition was tested on our negotiation framework.

Control is specified for a walk cycle of the robot. The implementation of the control system was done on Matlab Simulink. In this paper a hierarchical fuzzy logic controller (HFLC) is proposed to control a planar biped walk. The HFLC design is bio-inspired from human locomotion system. The proposed method is applied to control five links planar biped into free area and without obstacles.

In this paper, we describe a new video sequences segmentation and tracking algorithm based on MAS "multi-agent systems" and SURF "Speeded Up Robust Features". Our approach consists in modelling a multi-agent system for segmenting the first image from a video sequence and tracking objects in the video sequences. The used agents are supervisor and explorator agents, they are communicating between them and they inspire in their behavior from active contours approaches. The tracking of objects is based on SURF descriptors "Speed Up Robust Features". We used the DIMA platform and "API Ateji PX" (an extension of the Java language to facilitate parallel programming on heterogeneous architectures) to implement this algorithm. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm is more robust and faster than previous approaches.

Fuzzy Logic Based Electrical Power System for Pico Satellite ERPSat-1

In order to supply their subsystems, these satellites can only use the power stored on board from solar energy. Therefore, the electrical power system should ensure a maximum exploitation of energy sources and optimize the distribution of the available electrical power. In this context, Research Group of Intelligent Machines Laboratory in Tunisia developed a new intelligent electrical power subsystem to be used for pico satellites. This subsystem is based on fuzzy logic allowing a faster energy storage and better and efficient energy distribution. The intelligent electrical power subsystem was successfully integrated in ERPSat-1 pico satellite. In addition, the simulation has shown better results compared to other used methods in the previous electrical power systems used for small satellites.
Possibilistic logic and Bayesian networks have provided advantageous methodologies and techniques... more Possibilistic logic and Bayesian networks have provided advantageous methodologies and techniques for computerbased knowledge representation. This paper proposes a framework that combines these two disciplines to exploit their own advantages in uncertain and imprecise knowledge representation problems. The framework proposed is a possibilistic logic based one in which Bayesian nodes and their properties are represented by local necessity-valued knowledge base. Data in properties are interpreted as set of valuated formulas. In our contribution possibilistic Bayesian networks have a qualitative part and a quantitative part, represented by local knowledge bases. The general idea is to study how a fusion of these two formalisms would permit representing compact way to solve efficiently problems for knowledge representation. We show how to apply possibility and necessity measures to the problem of knowledge representation with large scale data.

An affective human-computer,interaction is one,in which emotional, information is communicated by the user in a natural and comfortable way, recognized by the computer, and used to help ,improve ,the interaction. Before the computer ,or its ,designer ,can adapt an interaction to better serve an individual user, feedback from that user mustbe associated with the actions of the machine: did a specific computer action please or displease, the user? Did something,in the ,interaction frustrate the user? One of the ,essential issues is sensing ,and recognizing the affective information communicated,by the, user in a way, that is comfortable and reliable. In this paper, we try to suggest another method for human-computerinteraction with recognizing and interpreting the user’s emotion through facial expression displayed in live video. Our system has to perform automatic facial features extraction, reasoning about shown, facial expression and eventual interpretation of it in terms ,of emotions ,and give an appropriate presentation of the acquired results.

We based our study on coefficients composing Markov Models by varying iteration number of estimation, Gaussian number specifying acoustic units of the corpus by shifting its number and coefficients type modelling vectors characteristic of these units such as Mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) and Perceptual Linear Prediction (PLP). This system is based on Arabic language as training and recognition dialect; it uses phoneme as linguistic unit of this language.
