Your submission at Articles for creation: Metalite (September 11)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Liance was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Some of your cited sources appear to be interviews with the subject or individuals closely related to the subject - please note that interviews are not independent sources and may not contribute to the subject's notability.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hello Cambalachero:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. DCWC closing update

The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest has come to a close! After a thrilling finish to the event with a slew of submissions on the final day, we have our winners. With 608 points, Bronze Belt Buckle – 3rd place Thebiguglyalien (submissions) comes in third with his series of Kiribati and Botswanan submissions; Silver Belt Buckle – 2nd place Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) flies into second place at the last second with 771 points after a string of good articles about sportspersons; and after leading for much of contest's three months, Gold Belt Buckle – 1st place Generalissima (submissions) finishes with a whopping 798 points to take home the Gold Belt Buckle. Congratulations to our winners!

In addition to his spot in the top three, Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins the special awards for submitting under the most countries (44 countries) and for writing the most articles about women (15 Did you know? nominations)! India Magentic Manifestations (submissions), after making 16 submissions under the Indian flag—15 of them good articles—receives the awards for most submissions for a single country and most featured or good articles promoted. For their submission of one FAC review, five FLC reviews, and 20 GAN reviews, Simongraham (submissions) wins for most article reviews.

The results of the contest have far exceeded any expectations the coordinators had for it at the beginning: among the submissions to the event were 3 FAs, 10 FLs, 88 GAs, dozens of article reviews of every kind, and more Did you know? submissions than we can count! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...

We need your feedback! Join the conversation on the talk page to discuss your reflections on the contest (even if you didn't participate!) and help us make it better.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or ask one of the coordinators: Ixtal (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). Caution with sources please

Just a polite warning, in this edit you inserted content that is not in the source: "led to trans-women that killed rivals in women's boxing". The source does not discuss transwomen killing anybody in boxing, I don't think that has ever happened. We also don't put terms like "woke ideology" in WP:VOICE. Zenomonoz (talk) 23:16, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

There's the paragraph that says "He lamented that proponents of the “LGBT agenda” remain silent “when a man dresses as a woman and kills his opponent in a boxing ring or when a male prison inmate claims to be a woman and ends up sexually assaulting women in prison,” referring to instances where trans-identified males compete in women’s sports and are housed in prison cells with women where they sleep and shower in the same spaces". The thing is that Milei said that, and that it was one of the arguments he used to explain his idea. And unless some source checks the speech for any potential errors, doing so ourselves would be original research. I also wrote "Milei criticized woke ideology" because that is exactly what he said he was doing, and it is more polite than "sinister agenda of wokeism" and other terms he used. By the way, I'm only superficially familiar with US politics, but according to the article woke it would seem that the term can be used both with a derogative meaning and with the original intended meaning. In fact, it's illustrated with a photo of someone embracing the term in a positive way. But if it is indeed derogatory nowadays, then I would have to explain the purpose of the speech saying that "Milei criticized..." what, exactly? Which would be the positive and non-derogative term for the concept that some people refer to in a derogative manner with the term "Woke"? Cambalachero (talk) 23:45, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello. The Christian Post source mustn't have loaded in full when I first searched it for killed, so yes the claim about "killed" is in the source (whether or not it's due for inclusion is unclear).
However, the part about using WP:VOICE still stands. To clarify, you wrote During a speech at Davos, Milei criticized woke ideology. I'm not saying you cannot mention this, only that you need to use quotes to ensure it is not in wikivoice. E.g. Milei criticized "woke ideology", which the source itself does. It would be better to find another source that covers this speech too. Zenomonoz (talk) 00:00, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
Ok, I have added back in coverage of this speech on the article. I think the part about "woke ideology" is too broad to go under the LGBT heading, so I've restricted it to views on that topic. Zenomonoz (talk) Zenomonoz (talk) 00:08, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that you have done work over at the "One World Under Doom" page. While I know that you don't want subplots that may or may not tie-in to the main story later out of fear and/or concern that the page would get too long, anyone like @Fiction Fanatic III: would've condensed them to the good parts like that user did to the previous two storylines. Of course we will have to keep an eye on some of the tie-in issues like the Superior Avengers series that includes a Doctor Octopus that isn't Otto Octavius (who was said to have joined an incarnation of the Masters of Evil in this storyline) or Caroyln Trainor and have what we learned about each tie-in issue added to the different character pages and group pages. I just wanted to let you know that. --Rtkat3 (talk) 23:56, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

Moved to draft

I've moved the article Human Engineering Research Laboratories (which you accepted at AFC) back to Draft:Human Engineering Research Laboratories because I believe it was published from the AFC process prematurely. The article had incorporated much material from the Human Engineering Laboratory article, but these are apparently different facilities. When that material was removed, the remaining article was barely a shell with no citations. You are free to continue to develop the draft and resubmit for AFC evaluation. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:57, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Very well, I will never review AFC drafts again. Have it your way. Cambalachero (talk) 16:28, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
It was not my intention to discourage you from reviewing AFC drafts, just to inform you that this one particular article that you reviewed has been re-draftified. We all make mistakes. The article, at the time you reviewed it, appeared quite properly sourced. It was just an unfortunate misunderstanding that most of the material in the article was actually relevant to a different, but similarly-named, facility. I hope you reconsider; WP:AFC needs all the help it can get. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:01, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
It's not a problem with you or with AFC specifically. I'm starting to realize that the Wikipedia community is a highly toxic and ungrateful environment. I won't help anyone anymore, because nobody ever helps me. Whatever I do on Wikipedia from now on, I will do it all by myself, no more wikiprojects, drives, cleanup... that, or leave the project altogether, I'm not decided yet. Your closure at WP:AN

You closed my thread at WP:AN#Trump's Justice Department has launched an attack on Wikipedia and the WMF on the basis that it violated WP:NOTAFORUM which says Stay on the task of creating an encyclopedia. The purpose of the Administrators noticeboard is for posting information and issues that affect administrators. The letter written by the Acting United States Attorney for the District of Columbia specifically refers to Wikipedia administrators on page 3 point 6. Did you read the letter before shutting down discussion? I happen to be an adminstrator and notice that you aren't. I do not think that it is appropriate for you to close a discussion at the noticeboard for administrators to discuss things of interest to administrators, and I completely disagree that this is a matter for only the WMF to deal with. I urge you to revert your close. Cullen328 (talk) 02:39, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

I noticed this thread (and the close). I don't have a strong opinion on the close itself - there isn't much administrators can do, and so I can see the argument that it may be beneficial to close it to avoid WP:FORUM violations. However, I do think that if and only if closing the AN thread is deemed appropriate, it should be closed with a reference to WP:VP/WMF where the issue was also posted, as that is a more appropriate place to discuss it. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez | me | talk to me! 02:49, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

The Developing Countries WikiContest Gold Belt Buckle
The Developing Countries WikiContest Gold Belt Buckle

Hey Cambalachero, the Developing Countries WikiContest will be returning for a second year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.

In other news, we have a new face on the coordinator team this year: last year's sixth-place finisher, Arconning (talk · contribs)! The coordinators would like to extend a sincere thanks to Ixtal (talk · contribs), who is leaving the team, without whom the contest would not exist. After feedback from contestants last year, the scoring rules are undergoing some modifications; the new rules and a summary of the changes made will be posted to the contest talk page shortly.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). Cambalachero thank you for adding the link to the noai userbox. I've decided to keep the scare quotes but I appreciate the note on linking. Sophia∠θ pr′me 12:51, 13 August 2025 (UTC)

Cambalachero, I just saw that you placed a  Done on the New Userbox page, is that dependent on the changes you made as a whole? Sophia∠θ pr′me 13:22, 13 August 2025 (UTC)

No, all that has to be done with a userbox is to confirm that style and policies are all fine, and that it is added to a relevant userbox gallery for others to find it. Cambalachero (talk) 14:27, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
