Semantic similarity detection mainly relies on the availability of laboriously curated ontologies... more Semantic similarity detection mainly relies on the availability of laboriously curated ontologies, as well as of supervised and unsupervised neural embedding models. In this paper, we present two domain-specific sentence embedding models trained on a natural language requirements dataset in order to derive sentence embeddings specific to the software requirements engineering domain. We use cosine-similarity measures in both these models. The result of the experimental evaluation confirm that the proposed models enhance the performance of textual semantic similarity measures over existing state-of-the-art neural sentence embedding models: we reach an accuracy of 88.35%-which improves by about 10% on existing benchmarks.

This paper presents a case study that explores the effectiveness of parallel conceptualization ef... more This paper presents a case study that explores the effectiveness of parallel conceptualization efforts to expose potential requirements issues in rapid prototyping. The case study consists of developing and comparing five design alternatives to model the safety-critical computer assisted resuscitation algorithm (CARA) software for a casualty intravenous fluid infusion pump using a set of computer aided Software Engineering Automated Tools (SEA-Tools). The prototyping effort showed that users can efficiently create / modify multiple parallel models and reason about their complexity using SEATools. The study also illustrates the usefulness of comparative rapid prototyping to identifying strengths and weaknesses of alternative designs, improving the final result. The case study also exposed numerous omissions and discrepancies in the requirements document and highlighted useful future enhancements for SEATools.

However, this is complicated as dental features change with time. In this paper, we proposed a new, safe and low cost dental biometric technique based on RGB images. It uses three phases: image acquisition with noise removal, segmentation and feature extraction. The key issue that makes our approach distinct is that the features are extracted mainly from incisor teeth only. Thus the proposed solution is low cost besides being safe for human.

This paper introduces a policy-based slicing of Hibernate Query Language (HQL) based on a refined... more This paper introduces a policy-based slicing of Hibernate Query Language (HQL) based on a refined notion of dependence graph. The policies are defined on persistent objects, rather than transient objects, which are stored in an underlying database. We extend the Class Dependence Graph (ClDG) of object-oriented languages to the case of HQL, and we refine it by applying semantics-based Abstract Interpretation framework. This leads to a slicing refinement of HQL programs, producing more precise slices w.r.t. policies and we refine by using semantics equivalence, according to the Abstract Interpretation framework.

These data are often sourced from online transactional system. The transactional data are represented in different formats. XML is one of the worldwide standards to represent data in web based system. Numbers of organizations use XML for e-commerce and internet based applications. Integration of XML and data warehouse for the innovation of business logic and to enhance decision making has therefore emerged as a demanding area of research interest. This paper focuses on integrating XML data based on multiple related XML schemas, to an equivalent data warehouse schemas based on relational online analytical processing (ROLAP). This work bears a high relevance towards standardizing of the ETL phase (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading) of the OLAP projects. The novelty of the work is that more than one data warehouse schemas could be identified from a single related XML schema and each of them could be categorized as star schema or snowflake schema. Moreover if the individual schemas are found to be related according to the analysis, fact constellation could be identified. A new data structure, Schema Graph has been proposed in the process.

Different stakeholders within an enterprise may use partial or even completely non-intersecting vocabulary sets. This would lead to developing multiple i * models having independent ontologies. Collectively, these i * models define a requirements refinement hierarchy where different tiers of the hierarchy capture different levels of detail. In order to integrate such a distributed ontology, we require an appropriate mapping or correlate definitions between different ontologies at multiple levels. A New Framework for Configuration Management and Compliance Checking for Component Based Software Development

Component Based Software Development (CBSD) decreases the time and cost for developing high quali... more Component Based Software Development (CBSD) decreases the time and cost for developing high quality software. However, with CBSD, the maintenance of the software is more difficult, as the whole system consists of several composite components. In this paper, a 3-layer framework is proposed towards designing an efficiently configurable component based system. We also developed an algorithm to identify the primitive and composite components that are related in terms of dependency. This helps managing multiple versions of a system. A smart meter system is considered as a case study. Our algorithm is executed on this component based system using the semantic effect annotations of Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) to validate the results of our algorithm. The success reflects the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm towards identifying the components affected by a change in a simple way.
