Kalkınma ve sanayileşmenin bir sonucu olan çarpık kentleşme, insanoğlunu birçok sorunla yüz yüze getirmekte, bu sorunlar kentsel gelişimi ve onun en önemli bileşenlerinden biri olan kentsel altyapı çalışmalarını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Kentsel gelişimin en önemli parametresi olan nüfus, artan motorlu araç sayısını da beraberinde getirmektedir. Yoğun ve ağır araç trafiği yol asfaltlarının zamanla yıpranmasına ve deformasyonuna neden olmakta, bu durum kent içi yolların yapım ve bakım çalışmalarını zorunlu hale getirmektedir. Çok disiplinli yapısı sayesinde geniş bir kullanım alanına sahip olan Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri(CBS), kentsel altyapı çalışmalarında etkin şekilde kullanılabilecek bir karar destek sistemidir. Bu çalışmada kentsel altyapının bir bileşeni olan ve Eskişehir Tepebaşı Belediyesi'ne kayıtlı kent içi yolların, asfaltlama çalışmaları için CBS desteği ile haritalar üretilmesi anlatılmıştır.

İnşaat Mühendisliği anabilim dallarından birisi olan yapı yönetimi, şantiyede eşzamanlı ya da ardışık olarak gerçekleştirilen proje aşamalarının koordinasyonunu içerir. Ülkemizde 1999 Gölcük ve Düzce depremleri sonrasında gündeme gelen yapı denetimi, yapı yönetiminin bir parçası olan kalite-kontrol çalışmaları kadar afet öncesi çalışmalar için de büyük önem arz etmektedir. Veritabanı desteği sayesinde etkin bir veri yönetimi sunan Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS), birçok mühendislik probleminin çözümünde karar desteği sağlamaktadır. İnşaat sektörüne önemli faydaları olmasına karşın CBS’nin yapı yönetimindeki önemi henüz tam anlamıyla kavranamamıştır. Bu çalışmada, yapı yönetiminde CBS uygulamaları anlatılmış ve yapı denetiminin afet yönetimi için önemi tartışılmıştır.

The objectives of this study are to find the best way
to calibrate data that are collected from the energy maps of
Turkey and take advantage of alternative electric energy source in
construction projects. To achieve these goals, renewable energy
maps of Turkey were collected. Four types of energy maps such
as solar, wind, geothermal, and wave energy were utilized. Cost
effectiveness was proposed for the construction projects that have
a total cost of more than a million dollars. Thus it is considered
that alternative energy maps in the study could be utilized for
construction projects instead of spending too much money using
the traditional methods for on-site energy generation. This study
is just a research that aims to figure out renewable energy
availabilities on construction site(s) and it is also proposing that
construction projects need much more research about green
energy; thereby the real engineering methods will find their
meanings.

The energy demand of the world is increasing in relation to the world’s population growth and industrialization. Thus efficient solutions for the shortage of natural energy are becoming compulsory. Natural energy resources are still being used commonly all over the world. Due to the shortage of such energy resources and their negative impacts on the environment, solutions for these alarming issues have been considered by scientists, especially environmentalist. Owing to their environmentally friendly attributes and availability, renewable energy resources are considered as alternatives to natural energy resources. Several countries are attracted by the prospect of renewable energy, and prepare their energy strategies with consideration to renewable energy resources. Turkey is a coal-dependant country comprising approximately 2% of world’s coal consumption. Coal is a fossil fuel facing great shortages. As such, Turkey tended to renewable energy in recent years. In this research, the renewable energy efficiency prospects in Turkey were studied. An outlook of the energy situation in the country within the frame of solar and wind energy was provided, and a case study to determine wind energy efficiency in Eskisehir was examined. The objective of the study is finding solutions for energy shortages. Geographic Information System (GIS), which is a computer system to solve spatial related problems, was used in this study and multi-criteria site selection was utilized for the methodology. It is understood that GIS may be an efficient solution to energy-related problems.

Günümüz modern kentlerinin inşasında önemli bir rol üstlenen inşaat mühendisliği birçok anabilim dalını bünyesinde barındırmaktadır. Bu anabilim dallarından biri olan yapı yönetimi; inşaat projelerinin uygulama aşamalarında yürütülen faaliyetler arasındaki koordinasyon ve kontrolün sağlanmasını kapsamaktadır. Bu faaliyetlerin yürütülmesi bir inşaat projesinde görev alan birimler ve bireyler arasındaki bilgi akışı ile birebir ilişkilidir. Bu nedenle inşaat projelerinin yönetim sürecinde bilgi teknolojilerinin kullanılması son derece önemlidir. Bilgi teknolojilerinin bir parçası olan Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS), inşaat projelerinin özellikle konumsal problemlerine etkin çözümler sunmaktadır. CBS‟nin bu yönünün keşfedilmesi yapı yönetimi alanında kullanım olanaklarının araştırılmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, dünyanın çeşitli ülkelerinde gerçekleştirilen CBS tabanlı yapı yönetimi uygulamaları ve bu çalışmaların yapı yönetim sürecine sağladığı katkılar konu alınmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, ülkemizde hala geleneksel yöntemlerin kullanıldığı yapı yönetimine CBS‟nin kullanımını önererek yenilikçi bir bakış açısı getirmektir. Yapı yönetimi alanında yapılan CBS uygulamalarının derlendiği bu çalışma, ileriki çalışmalara bir başlangıç niteliği taşımaktadır.

Bu çalışmada, yapı yönetiminde CBS'nin kullanım olanakları araştırılmıştır. CBS'nin kullanımı ile yapı yönetimine yenilikçi bir yaklaşım getirmek ve yapım aşamalarında gerekli verilerin tek ortam üzerinden yönetimini sağlamak çalışmanın amaçları olarak belirlenmiştir. Bunun için Eskişehir'de yapımı henüz devam eden konut tipi betonarme bir yapı çalışma alanı olarak belirlenmiştir. Yapıya ait proje çizimleri CBS ortamında üç boyutlu (3B) hale getirilmiş ve yapının proje iş programındaki zaman verilerine bağlı olarak görüntülenmiştir. Yapının öznitelik verilerini de içeren bu modelle CBS'nin özellikle görselleştirme olanakları ve veritabanı desteği ön plana çıkarılmıştır.

The development of 3 dimensional (3D) display technologies led to the widespread 3D designs
and applications in construction industry. The major developments that offer visual presentation
for the construction projects are 4D CAD, BIM and nD modeling. In addition, 3D GIS
applications that use visualization features of GIS are also available. Unlike CAD tools, GIS
software provide spatial data about construction for project participants. According to the
previous studies, converting 2D CAD drawings into 3D data layers that refer to each
construction activity is an efficient method. It is possible to transfer and edit them in GIS
through data interoperability. Besides, 3D modeling and editing tools such as 3D Studio Max
and SketchUp enables the realistic design with their material library and texture features. These
modeling software can transfer data directly into GIS. In this study, two available 3D building
visualization methods to provide visual support in GIS environment for the construction
projects were compared. AutoCAD, SketchUp and ArcGIS were utilized for modeling, data
transfer, editing and 3D visualization. 3D data transfer processes between these software were
also discussed and multipatch geometry type that is supported by ArcGIS was emphasized. A
reinforced concrete construction in Eskisehir, Turkey was determined as the study area for the
case study. In consequence of the study, it was discovered that while the feature class objects
that were transferred from CAD to GIS have 2D geometry, multipatch objects are in 3D
geometrically thereby more realistic. Irregular 3D objects cannot be defined in feature class but
they can be created in SketchUp and transferred into GIS as multipatch. On the other hand,
each layers corresponding to the construction activities should be drawn individually in
SketchUp.

Sustainability is an emerging issue for construction which is regarded as the most pollutant industry globally by causing huge greenhouse gas emissions and the greatest consumption of raw materials. Since materials is regarded as the main component of the construction projects, it is significant to reduce environmental impacts of materials-related activities during both design and construction phases. Supply chain management (SCM) is a sophisticated concept which contains all materials-related activities of construction projects. In the last decade, construction supply chain management (CSCM) has become a new challenge for both researchers and construction managers in order to reduce environmental impacts as well as the total project costs. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is being commonly utilized in order to evaluate the environmental impacts of a building material throughout its life cycle. Günümüzde sürdürülebilir yaşamın kurulabilmesi için pek çok çalışma yapılmaktadır. İklim krizini arttıran sera gazları salınımının büyük oranda ulaşım sektöründen kaynaklandığı, dünya genelinde kabul görmüş bir gerçektir. "Bu sektörün tüketilen petrol enerjisindeki payının fazla oluşu, özel araç sahipliğinin ve kullanımının günden güne artması, hızla artan nüfus ve benzin pompa fiyatlarının yıllar itibariyle artan bir eğilim göstermesinin sorunlar doğurduğu açıktır" (Varol, Öztürk, ve Öztürk, 2018). İçten yanmalı motorların kullanmakta olduğu fosil yakıttan elde edilen enerjinin yenilenemez bir enerji olması, ekonomik olmaması sebepleri ile de elektrikli araçların gelişimi ivme kazanmıştır. Elektrikli araçların çevreye duyarlı oluşu göz önünde bulundurulduğunda sürdürülebilir yaşama katkı sağladığı görülmektedir. Elektrikli araç teknolojisinin geldiği son noktada araçların menzilleri ve mevcut şarj istasyonu konumları gibi parametreleri eklediğimizde şehirlerarası yolculuğu verimli hale getirecek şarj istasyonları yetersizdir. Bu çalışma şehirlerarası ulaşımda elektrikli araçların şarj kapasiteleri ve menzilleri göz önünde bulundurularak, şarj istasyonları için uygun konumların seçilmesi üzerine gerçekleştirilmiştir.

Aricilik, yasantimizda oldukca onemlidir.  Aricilik, teknik ve biyolojik bilgilerin yani sira cografi ortamla iliskili bir faaliyettir. Iklim, flora ve topografya ariciligi etkileyen onemli faktorlerdir. Turkiye’nin aricilik potansiyeli oldukca yuksektir, fakat bu potansiyelden yeterince yararlanilmamaktadir. Bu baglamda, calismada kullanilan Cografi Bilgi Sistemleri(CBS) teknikleri ile agirlikli cakistirma analizi yapilarak Izmir ilinin Karaburun, Cesme ve Urla ilcelerinin aricilik icin uygun yerlerinin belirlenmesi islemi gerceklestirilmistir.  Uygunluk haritasi olusturulurken yukseklik, egim, baki, flora, yagis, su kaynaklarina, yola ve yerlesime olan uzaklik faktorleri kullanilmistir. Olusturulan uygunluk haritasi sonucunda bolgenin aricilik faaliyetleri icin uygun olan yerleri belirlenmistir.

Limited natural resources are decreasing day by day. In order for these resources to be used by future generations, the concept of sustainability, which aims to reduce the negative effects of human activities and the effective use of resources, should be implemented. Sustainability practices are essential in the aviation, which is an indispensable sector. In this study, what are the environmental targets within the scope of sustainable aviation practices, and the contributions of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) as an information technology in the process of achieving these targets are discussed. The literature review was conducted and the applications that contributed to sustainability were exemplified by using the GIS tool in the aeronautical organizations and especially in airports. The possible contributions of GIS to sustainable aviation are expressed.
