Some social development in Turkey, since the 1950s, a decrease has occurred in thewomen’s rate in employment depending on therural-urban migration and changes in agriculture. There has been a change in the sectoral position of women in the labor market. Particularly, Turkey's politicaland socio-economic growth is directly proportional to the prominence of women in the service and industry sectors. Hence, in Turkey for an economy that can compete at the globallevel, it is very important that women, with a significant portion of the population, take part in the workforce.Purpose of the study is to research women’s participation in the laborforce in the TRB2 region. The data used in the study were obtained from TUIK and interpreted by creating tables.

Calismamizin konusu enerji tuketimi ve ekonomik buyume iliskisidir. Temel amacimiz; 1978 yilindan bu yana bircok iktisatcinin uzerinde arastirmalar yaptigienerji tuketimi ile ekonomik buyume arasindaki iliskinin hem teorik hem de ampirik cercevede incelenmesidir. Enerji tuketimi ile buyume iliskisi once toplulastirilmisdenklemlerle incelenmisdaha sonra ayristirilmis denklemler kullanilarak birincil enerji tuketimini olusturan kaynaklarin ekonomik buyume uzerindeki etkisi analiz edilmistir. Ayrica ilk analizde 1996:01-2004:04 donemine ait ucer aylik veriler; ikinci analizde ise 1980-2004 donemi yillik verileri kullanilarak zaman bakimindan bir sinirlama getirilmistir. Calismada “Enerji tuketimi ekonomik buyume uzerinde pozitif etkiye sahiptir” hipotezi Siradan En Kucuk Kareler Yontemiyle test edilmisve sonuclara yer verilmistir.

In recent years, a large number of studies have been made about women's employment but no study has been met about the effect of women's employment on competitiveness and economic growth. In this study, the effect of women's employment on competitiveness and economic growth has been compared between the most competitive countries according to the data of International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and Turkey. The main hypothesis of the study is that "women's participation in employment would have positive effects on competitiveness and economic growth". According to the results of the analyses made, while in more competitive countries female labor force participation affects competitiveness positively, in all of the countries discussed and in less competitive countries the effect of female labor force participation on competitiveness is concluded to be insignificant. Female labor force participation positively affects economic growth in all these groups.

Calismada G7 ulkeleri icin kadinlarin isgucune katilim oranlari ile uluslararasi rekabetcilik arasindaki iliski incelenmistir. Isgucu Piyasasinin Temel Belirleyicileri (KILM) yayinindan elde edilen kadinlarin isgucune katilim miktari verileri ve Uluslararasi Yonetim Gelistirme Dernegi (IMD)’den elde edilen veriler yardimiyla tarafimizca olusturulan rekabetcilik endeksi verileri kullanilarak 2001-2009 yillari arasi icin panel veri analizi uygulanmistir. Calismanin temel hipotezi “kadinlarin isgucune katilimlari ile uluslararasi rekabetcilik arasinda pozitif bir iliski oldugudur.” Calismanin temel sonucu; G7 ulkelerinde kadinlarin isgucune katilim oranlarindaki artisin uluslararasi rekabetciligi; uluslararasi rekabetcilikteki artisin da kadinlarin isgucune katilim oranlarini artirdigidir
