Eight boat survivors from Anir, in New Ireland province, were reunited with their families, following a successful repatriation by the Bougainville disaster office and the New Zealand Police last month, October 2024.
The Directorate of Disaster & Emergency under the Department of Community Government of the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG), in collaboration with the New Zealand Police, successfully repatriated eight survivors from a recent boat mishap back to their community on Anir Island, New Ireland Province.
