About Robert Percy
Robert started his writing career in 2018, as a music journalist. He then got into writing about cars a year later through the original DriveTribe website. Since then, he's spent most of his career writing about cars.
Originally from London, Robert ended up moving to the rather different Welsh coastal city of Swansea when he was 13 years old. A lover of cars from an incredibly early age (his parents will insist that "car" was his first word!), Robert grew up in an era where Formula 1 and BTCC were both on free TV and Top Gear was one of the BBC's most successful shows. All of this gave him an expansive knowledge and appreciation of cars, and car cultures from all over the world. Mix that with a strong passion and ability for writing, and his path was set!
When he isn't writing, Robert enjoys making his own music, watching various different sports, reading as many books and articles as he can get his hands on and enjoying getting out and about around London and the surrounding countryside.
Favorite Car
Robert's favourite car that he's ever owned was a mustard yellow 2011 Ford Focus 1.6 Titanium. His friends made fun of it a lot.
Author Details
Robert started writing in 2018 while still living in Swansea, focusing mainly on music. He got his start writing about cars through DriveTribe, writing for the original website as a content creator from late 2019 until it shut down in early 2022. He's also freelanced for several other outlets, including a previous stint at HotCars from 2022-2023. He's also assisted with social media management for both automotive and non-automotive focused projects.
Industry Focus
Robert's happy to write about pretty much anything, but he has a keen interest in the development of electric and hydrogen vehicles and keeping up with the latest industry developments. More generally, he just wants to learn everything he can about cars!
