I want to thank Subaru of America for loaning me the new 2026 Outback for our family vacation, especially because I accidentally spent the week trying to break it. I did not succeed. Between Phoenix traffic, packed parking lots, and a handful of trailhead stops, I kept finding myself rolling up to curbs that just… ended. Pavement to dirt, with a sudden drop and a very unsettling thump as a wheel fell off the edge. Every time, I winced. Every time, the Outback just shrugged it off. That kind of real-world durability is part of the appeal. You stop worrying about every little bump or scrape and just use the thing. Load it up, drive it wherever, let it get a little dirty. It feels built for that. The rest of the experience follows the same theme. Plenty of space for kids and gear, easy tech, good visibility, and a cabin that does not mind a little abuse from snacks, shoes, and whatever else comes along for the ride. (Except scorpions.
