About Kyle Francis
Kyle is a writer who focuses mostly on motoring and motorsport-related content.
His future in the automotive world has been guaranteed since he was a kid, as he remembers rattling off the names of car brands as one of his earliest memories.
Kyle then studied journalism at college and earned a degree in the subject at university before moving into the world of writing. There was only one target.
Having been accepted within the Autosport Academy while studying at uni, he had several stories published on the Autosports site and magazine before landing his first proper job within the field.
Working as the MotoGP Editor for Motorsport Week/Motorsport Monday, Kyle got stuck into the thick of the action covering the stories and races of the series. The highlight was traveling to Silverstone to cover the championship as accredited media for the first time in an international paddock.
During this period he also wrote for publications such as Read Motorsport and Coach Dave Academy covering subjects such as Formula E, WRC, and sim racing.
Keen to make a switch to the automotive sector, Kyle joined HotCars in late 2023 to put his passion for general automotive to good use.
He hopes to grow within the industry and become a big player as the next step in his career and is keen to continue building to achieve this goal.
Kyle has a strange interest in underdog vehicles such as the 1999 Ford Cougar Coupe and the Pininfarina-designed Peugeot 406 Coupe. He feels they are cars that have largely been forgotten but are better than many give them credit for.
He currently owns an Alfa Romeo Giulietta as his daily driver, though his dream car is currently a Ferrari 288 GTO - though this will likely change within the week!
Author Details
Kyle has worked for HotCars since late 2023 primarily as a Features Author, though he also takes on news articles. He has been published hundreds of times over his career, particularly through his previous role as MotoGP Editor where his crowning achievement was covering the 2023 British Grand Prix at Silverstone in the UK.
Industry Focus
Having worked in motorsport as a MotoGP, WRC, and Formula Ford writer predominantly, Kyle picked up comprehensive experience in paddocks and a keen understanding of the industry. Today, he works for HotCars as a Freelance Author as he looks to build up experience in the general automotive industry by delving into all things cars.
Favorite Car
Kyle's favorite car is the Ferrari 288 GTO, having loved the vehicle since he was at school. He loves the stunning looks of the supercar, as well as the fact it's a vehicle focussed on being as fast as possible without compromise - a true road-going racer.
