The faculty development team promotes a positive, collegial working environment for faculty members. We are available to support you through the academic life cycle and demystify the complexities of a large, decentralized university.

Support for Faculty Members

We work closely with the vice-dean, faculty & academic life to develop programming for A&S faculty members, including:

  • New Faculty Program: A two-year orientation initiative designed to welcome new faculty members into the faculty, encourage interdisciplinary connections, build knowledge of campus resources and develop pragmatic skills to support your transition to the University of Toronto.

  • Support for academic leaders: Academic leaders can attend targeted sessions throughout the year (companion workshops are available for executive assistants and/or business officers). You can also join our monthly breakfast gatherings to informally discuss emergent issues, strategize with your peers, and receive support in navigating complex human resource, administrative and organizational challenges.

  • Institutional wayfinding: Need help navigating the university's systems? We can connect you with resources to address your academic and non-academic questions and concerns.
