The reasons why the troops of Age/mund went westwards, in the direction of the Tollense river, are unknown. However, the former raids on the coast suggest that Age/mund was leading a raid when he was stopped in the riverbank, probably before its final destination. Indeed, the name of the Varinj, Latinization of Waren (German) for “goods”, suggests that he wanted to capture a stock of agricultural production. This hypothesis is sustained by the name of Uckerland or Uckermark, which is based on the same root as Ucker giving Agio, which includes Pasewa/k where has been retrieved a millet production centre.
