This action research investigates strategies to enhance selfregulation and numeracy skills among learners at Gov. Feliciano Leviste Memorial National High School, with a focus on numerate learners who demonstrate advanced abilities or potential in mathematics. Although these learners show aptitude in mathematical tasks, they often face challenges in maintaining focus, applying critical thinking, and persevering in complex numeracy activities. The study examines the characteristics of numerate learners, including their numeracy skills, attitudes, and interests, and evaluates how teachers assess their abilities and skills. Furthermore, the research explores the teaching strategies currently used in numerate learners' classes and examines the relationship between learners' attitudes, interests, and assessed abilities. Based on these findings, a learner-centered program is proposed to strengthen numeracy competencies, cultivate selfregulation, and develop critical problem-solving skills. By empowering learners to take ownership of their learning, the study aims to contribute to the holistic development of academically confident and globally competitive students.

NumeraSIKAPp, designed to address the numeracy difficulties faced by students at Gov. Feliciano Leviste Memorial National High School. The research addresses specific research questions, including the initial level of numeracy skills in controlled and experimental group, differences in numeracy skills before and after the treatment, and challenges encountered in using NumeraSIKAPp. Statistical analysis, employing Pearson's r correlation coefficient, reveals a lack of significant difference in pre-test results between the two groups, but a significant difference in post-test results suggests the effectiveness of NumeraSIKAPp in enhancing numeracy skills. Conclusions drawn from the findings include the observation that students, in general, have not yet reached the highest numeracy level. The intervention positively impacts both controlled and experimental groups, with the latter reaching an advanced numeracy level post-treatment. Challenges related to the lack of self-actualization of the lesson by teachers and the inclusion of video-aided instruction in NumeraSIKAPp are noted. Recommendations include presenting the instructional plan to authorities for evaluation and implementation, encouraging teachers to apply suggested strategies in the K to 12 curriculum, and suggesting further studies on other aspects of the teaching-learning process in mathematics.

By implementing targeted interventions, the research seeks to improve students' numeracy performance, foster positive attitudes toward mathematics, and equip learners with essential skills for academic success and lifelong numeracy competence.

This chapter examines the following questions: Can we practice experimentation in sociology as in other sciences? Does sociology present specific difficulties? If so, what are they? While these questions appear well circumscribed and rather limited in scope, the answers offered herein shed significant light on certain fundamental questions, such as the unity and diversity of the sciences, and the epistemological status of sociology.

Ce chapitre traite des formes du raisonnement expérimental en sociologie. Alors que la sociologie est souvent décrite comme une discipline non-expérimentale, une revue de la littérature montre que toutes les formes d’expérimentation sont pratiquées: expérimentation indirecte, quasi-expérimentation, expérimentation contrôlée, expérimentation en laboratoire. Cette revue souligne aussi une fréquente méconception de la science expérimentale, qui est censée produire des résultats définitifs, alors qu’elle constitue un processus constant de révision, dans lequel chaque expérimentation appelle de nouvelles recherches pour répondre aux questions laissées en suspens. Enfin, cette perspective informe la question de l’unité des sciences: il apparaît que les obstacles qui se dressent sur le chemin de la sociologie expérimentale ne diffèrent pas en nature de ceux auxquels font face les autres disciplines.

Este trabajo se buscó valorar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de básica primaria mediado por el uso por parte del docente, de un Objetos Interactivos de Aprendizaje (OIA), como apoyo al proceso de aprendizaje de la matemática. Se presenta un análisis comparativo resultado de la ejecución del método cuasiexperimental: con pretest y post test, validados con metodología del juicio de expertos y la confiabilidad con metodología de mitades partidas. Se uso un OIA sobre los números, así como evaluaciones no tradicionales con videos interactivos y aplicaciones de gamificación, el cual se centró en favorecer el aprendizaje de los estudiantes y comprensión de los conceptos. "Background: Unsafe disposal of child’s faeces plays a crucial role in disease transmission and environmental pollution. These areas are overlooked by many sanitation promotion interventions. The objective was to determine the effect of Positive Deviance (PD) approach on safe disposal of child’s faeces among households who owned a toilet.
Methodology: A community-based quasiexperimental study was carried out in the four field practice villages of UHTC, Villupuram for 18 months. Households who owned a toilet and had a child <5 years were included. After IEC clearance, information was collected from a representative sample of 100 households before intervention and another 100 house-holds after intervention. PD approach was applied for six months to promote safe disposal practices. Data was analyzed in SPSS 24 software. Chi square test and Effect size (Cramer’s V) were employed.
Results: Before intervention, only 3% households disposed the faeces into a toilet. While, after intervention, almost 38% households disposed in the toilet (c2=37.39; df=1; p=0.001). Effect size was found to be 0.43.
Conclusion: PD approach demonstrated considerable improvements in safe disposal of child’s faeces in rural settings. Further, in order to sustain the behaviour, change frequent reinforcement of key messages at frequent intervals need to emphasized."

Background: Pressure ulcers (PUs) are areas of localised tissue destruction that occur as a soft tissue gets compressed over a bony prominence and an external skin surface for a prolonged period of time. Treatment of ulcers of the sort represents a major financial burden for most health care systems worldwide as well as in Jordan and Arab world. Objective: the aim of this study is to develop, implement and evaluate the effect of intervention educational on nursing quality of documentation regarding pressure ulcer in Jordanian ministry of health tertiary hospitals. Methods/design: A quasi experimental study design will be conducted in Jordan in which 54 nurses will be placed in each of two groups, a control and an intervention group. Nurses will be selected to represent the following four wards: (1) the surgical ward, (2) the medical ward, (3) the intensive care unit and (4) the orthopaedic ward. Sampling will consider the number of nurses in each of those wards. Stratification and a simple random sampling technique will be used to sample 54 nurses in each group. Pre-and postintervention assessments will be conducted to evaluate two parameters with respect to: (1) knowledge, skills, motivation and (2) quality of nursing documentation. The quality of documentation regarding pressure ulcer will be determined by examining two documents for each participant every time using the nursing documentation Chart Audit Tool. One-way multivariate analysis of variance and 2-way repeated multivariate analysis of variance will be used to analyze the data. Discussion: To the best of our knowledge, this research will be the first quasi experimental time series study with control group using a lectures educational intervention for nurses to examine the quality of nursing documentation on pressure ulcer, knowledge, skills, and motivation regarding nurses.

Multilingual instruction is essential in alleviating students’ performance. Hence, this study recognizes its importance in the teaching-learning process in Mathematics especially in plane and solid Geometry among college students. Its focus is on the use of English, Filipino, Bikol and other local dialects within the Bicol region as media of instruction. Quasiexperimental method was employed using the twogroup post designs. The teacher-made pre-and-posttests were utilized to assess the students’ performance in the two mathematics classes which are handled by the researcher and became the subject of the study. One class was the control group using English alone as medium of instruction, while in the experimental class it employs multi-lingual instruction. Advancement and evolution of different kinds of gadgets, mobile phones, laptops and computers are highly appreciated by most of the students today. These become effective tools to enhance their motivation and active engagement inside the classroom. However, these also change the continuity of lesson because students confine themselves in using gadgets and playing mobile games at home. Decline in students’ performance becomes visible. In educational system where technology cannot be withdrawn, an intensive effort of a teacher to integrate it constructively can revamp technology as an effective tool for learning. Differentiated instruction has been gaining acknowledgment in different academic areas such as English and Mathematics. However, there were no studies that have been conducted about differentiated instruction in Biology, so, the researcher compared the effects of differentiated instruction and traditional method in teaching Biology. Using true experimental research design, the following results were obtained. The least mastered topics were: Cell Division, Genetics and Digestive System which were differentiated. The activities and lesson plans used in the differentiated group were tailored on their learning styles. The purpose of this study is to identify the use of iOS and Android grading application as an innovative assessment tool among Grade 8 students in Mataasnakahoy NHS in the S.Y. 2019-2020. In line with the Interim Guidelines for Assessment and Grading in Light of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan, the researcher utilizes this application to administer the written works that are given to the students every quarter and grade their summative assessments which are used to report their achievement. Descriptive quantitative type of research was utilized and survey questionnaire was the main instrument in data gathering. There is a high extent on the use of iOS and Android grading application that affects the students in terms of applicability and adaptability, assessment and motivation, and ease of use. One hundred thirty-two out of one hundred eighty students in Grade 8 in the aforementioned school had been chosen. The content is limited only on the use of ZipGrade application on Mathematics subject of the students where the researcher is their subject teacher. The different problems encountered by the students are the hardship in answering on ZipGrade answer sheet and the difficulty in seeing which item is incorrectly answered. This study utilized an action plan to solve these problems which is to maximize its use as an innovative assessment tool on Education's New Normal. The action plan focuses on the objectives on coping with specific structure and features of ZipGrade answer sheet and providing an alternative copy of ZipGrade answer sheet. Each objective contains two activities that are aligned on the latest trend of Education. The importance of this paper is to enlighten other educators on the essence of using iOS and Android grading application as an innovative assessment tool for the students' examinations.

A researcher-made pre-test was steered out to the controlled group and experimental group at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Controlled group used traditional means of self-reflection while the experimental group used video-aided self-reflection. At the end of the quarter the same test was administered to both controlled and experimental group. Mean, standard deviation and t-test were used as statistical tools to navigate the results of the study. Findings revealed that both groups showed differences in their score implying that they had different level of performance in Biology after the utilization of video-aided self-reflection. This revealed that the use of video-aided self-reflection was an effective pedagogical tool in teaching Biology.
