La reciente aparición y expansión de las centrales fotovoltaicas ha supuesto la generación de un problema de naturaleza paisajística en el espacio rural. En este artículo se ofrecen los principales resultados de un proyecto de investigación que aborda la caracterización paisajística de las plantas fotovoltaicas, así como la tipifi cación de los impactos sobre el paisaje que genera, como punto de partida para la elaboración de propuestas de integración paisajística de este tipo de instalaciones. El área de estudio analizada es el territorio andaluz, región donde el desarrollo de esta fuente de energía renovable ha sido especialmente intenso. The intensification of greenhouse horticulture is a commonly occurring trend in many regions around the world, including the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Spain, the U.S., and the U.K. One typical characteristic of this intensification is that high-technology and large-scale greenhouses are being built. An additional phenomenon is the clustering of several of these large greenhouses on a single site, into socalled 'greenhouse parks'. The main incentive for this clustering is the reduction of production costs by sharing infrastructure such as energy, water and gas facilities. In Flanders (Northern region of Belgium) the development of greenhouse clusters is being encouraged and promoted by the Flemish government's Agricultural Department. One of the major problems all developments of this size face is their impact on the aesthetics of the surrounding landscape, and this may even prevent their realisation. In recent years there has been an increasing resistance against the construction of large greenhouses in Flanders. The visual impact of these clusters seems to be one of the major obstacles to their public acceptance. The wider public's perception of large greenhouses should therefore not be neglected by policy makers and planners if they want to succeed in developing large-scale projects. This perception is, however, hard to objectify, let alone to measure. In this paper, we demonstrate the value of a GIS-based method to objectively quantify the visual impact of large-scale greenhouse developments. We also assess the potential for a GIS-based planning instrument to evaluate the effectiveness of 'landscape design plans'.

Guided by the vision and ingenuity befitting the greatest minds in internal medicine architecture, this paper reimagines inpatient care as a personalized healing ecosystem. Through the lens of predictive artificial intelligence (AI) and dynamic architectural design, inpatient environments evolve into self-adjusting spaces that foster patient-specific recovery, optimize resources, and nurture emotional well-being. Anchored in the Dynamic Healing Environments in Medicine Architecture (DHEMA) framework, we illustrate how internal medicine can integrate AI and architecture to elevate patient outcomes and holistic care.

Our journal, "proyecto, progreso, arquitectura", founded in 2010, is an initiative of the Research Group HUM-632 of the University of Seville and its objective is the sharing and debating of research within architecture. This six-monthly scientific publication, in paper and digital format, publishes original works that have not been previously published in other journals. The article selection process consists of a double blind system involving two external reviewers, following the usual protocols for serial scientific publications. The titles, summaries, key words and full text of articles are also published in English. "proyecto, progreso, arquitectura" presents a clear, easy and flexible structure. It deals with all the subjects relating to the theory and the practise of the architectural project. The different "open themes" that compose our editorial line are sources for the conjunction of diverse investigations.

Healthcare environments play a critical role in patient well-being, and the integration of landscaping into hospital design has gained recognition as a means to enhance the healing experience. This study investigates the impact of landscape integration on the well-being of patients and caregivers in eye hospitals within the South-East Zone of Nigeria. Through a comprehensive examination of the architectural and landscaping features in selected hospitals, coupled with surveys and qualitative data from patients and caregivers, our research explores the connections between design elements and the well-being of those seeking eye care. The findings of this study indicate that well-conceived landscape integration extends far beyond aesthetics, serving as a holistic approach that positively influences the physical and emotional well-being of patients and caregivers. Natural elements such as gardens, green spaces, and water features create environments that reduce stress, promote relaxation, and encourage healing. Patients and caregivers reported improved mood, reduced anxiety, and an overall sense of tranquility in these integrated settings. This research not only highlights the significance of mindful architectural design in healthcare settings but also underscores the critical role of landscape integration in the healing process. Our insights offer practical guidance for architects, healthcare administrators, and policymakers, serving as a valuable resource to inform future hospital developments and healthcare policies in Nigeria and serve as a model for healthcare facilities worldwide aiming to prioritize patient and caregiver well-being.

El presente trabajo propone estudiar y espacializar distintos grados de integración paisajística en la periferia del eje noroeste de la ciudad de La Plata, Argentina. Se pretende verificar que la configuración urbana actual, resultado del crecimiento del sector en las últimas décadas, no contribuye a lograr una integración del territorio en tanto que paisaje. El abordaje metodológico presenta dos instancias principales: la primera combina el relevamiento de la estructura y la configuración urbana con los usos del suelo y el nivel de consolidación del tejido urbano. La segunda incorpora las cuestiones paisajísticas y determina el nivel de integración paisajística a partir de la composición de las diferentes piezas urbanas en uno de los sectores con mayor crecimiento del partido.

The red palm weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus L) is an important pest for date palm plantation in all over the world. The present study deals with the optimization of different parameters for trapping of red palm weevil by utilizing pheromone traps. Different field trials have been performed at district Khairpur Mir's, Sindh-Pakistan. Therefore, different field trials have been performed at date palm orchards of district Khairpur Mir's, Sindh-Pakistan. During the field trials, various parameters such as aggregation pheromone (ferrugineol; 4-methyl-5-nonanol+ 4-methyl-5-nonanone), kairomone (Ethyl acetate, EA) dosages, effect of date fodder, trap density, the effect of trap color and seasonal changes have been optimized. From the results, it has been revealed that the traps baited with 300 g of date fodder, captured more adult red palm weevil as compared to the traps without date fodder. In addition, 3 mg/trap/day pheromone dose and 5 mg/trap/ day EA captured the maximum number of adult red palm weevils and effective trap density was found to be 11 traps/ha, while further higher trap density has no significant difference. Moreover, the darker color traps catch a significant higher number of weevils as compared to white or light-colored bucket traps.

The effects of changes in water use of Tortum Lake watershed were studied. This study investigates the effects of changes in water use culture, and its reflection on landscape during the last 35 years time period. In the last 35 years of time period, factors which caused the changes in type of water use can be discussed and determined under four subjects, which are; (1) fountains constructed built in Tortum Lake watershed by General Directorate of Rural Services (KHGM) in 1975 (2) facilitating the transportation which increased the urban integration, widespread communication, establishing the drinking and usable water systems, (3) changes in water use of traditional agriculture system and establishment of trout production facilities, and (4) establishment of high plateau roads and spreading the recreational activities. From this study, evident changes in (1) structure of cultural and rural landscape (2) sort of traditional architecture (3) type of household water use, were observed. It was found that water resources are contaminated with household pollutants.

This article aims to act as a general literature review regarding the landscape, analyzing it through a synthesis of the main concepts and processes that have generated, and subsequently developed, the word "Landscape". It is a versatile theme, because it has always been studied by various disciplines, through different theories, which sometimes even conflict with each other. Through the present text, we understand the importance and the unique value of the landscape, a value that has nowadays been transfigured by the strong industrialization and strong brand of man in the territory. Thus, the first part of the research is, to some extent, a reflection on current issues that are related to the landscape. It is also a tool for integration, including in the definition of "Landscape", even those heavily humanized, exploited, degraded, abandoned, and residual; the so-called "Drosscape", "Friche", and "Terrain Vague". In the decade of 1960, the first golf courses were built in Galicia. On the one hand, the Golf Club of La Coruña, whose shape is not compact and creates several loops of routes that provide a broad perimeter, a condition that is highly desired by developers. The designers are conditioned by the quantity and disposition of the houses, giving priority to the real estate performance and the views towards the course. They are inserted in the interstitial spaces derived from the morphological configuration of the course, and although a large part has not been built, it is possible to read the trace of the intentions on the landscape. Seven years later, La Toja Golf Club was born, a model of tourist golf where the design of the course prevails, the number of houses is much smaller and its degree of visual contamination towards the golf course is better treated. In the decade of the nineties, the tendency of the interventions that use the golf courses as a transforming element of the landscape in a real estate incentive is reflected in Galicia with the Ría de Vigo Golf Club, where soil movements have been important, terracing the terrain to generate several levels from which to glimpse the course. These operations are intensified in the first years of the new century in much of our country, while Galicia takes a turn towards a less invasive option: golf spas. Between 2000 and 2006 three courses are executed in Mondariz, Guitiriz and Augas Santas, with similarities in their logic of insertion: presence of a regulated accommodation (hotel) with a dominant position over the rest of the intervention; the topographic conditions of the support terrain are exploited; compact design without interstitial spaces. Thermal golf ushered in a new phase for Galicia, since the most important interventions of the following years moved away from the American format based on the theory of hedonic prices of the golf landscape for residential areas, betting on a more British intervention where the play areas, the natural protection and delimitation areas of the course and even the areas of pastures and adjoining crops are confused in a spatial continuity. In general terms, the foundations have been laid for a new culture of the territory in which there is no talk of a contrast between golf courses and landscape, but rather spaces of opportunity for landscape projects that can reactivate the heritage and cultural values of our society, so the golf landscape in Galicia is still in (dis)use.

Intended as a contribution to the debate on inclusive cities, this paper proposes that the re-imagination of new city landscapes lies on the integrative sum of its parts. Considering that knowledge about informal systems continues to be a challenge in achieving integrated landscapes, this study explores how the linking of the fields of urban ecology and urban informality can lead to systematic approaches towards understanding urban informal ecosystems. In that way, this think-piece theorizes on alternatives to approach the socio-natural processes taking place in informal settlements to demonstrate their capacity to adapt to prescribed ecological frameworks and ease their way into ecological scrutiny. Using a mixed-method approach in which theoretical framework and the empirical work functioned in a cyclical manner, the city of Caracas, Venezuela, was investigated. The analysis led to the discovery of ties and processes that navigate in and out of the informal city and revealed that informal areas can be scaled, inventoried, and re-imagined from a systems perspective. The paper, therefore, recommends a rethinking of the two intersections that play a role in most of the new scenarios of change seen in the contemporary urban hybrids of developing countries. Specifically, the intersection that concerns the formal vs informal dichotomy, exploring the spatial and virtual role of the urban informal in the city, and the one concerning the city vs nature dichotomy, and the assumption that as part of the city, the informal is also a constituent of a greater urban ecosystem with impacts and evolutionary capacities.

In relation to landscape integration studies, some reflections on substantive issues are made which induce certain prejudices at the time of addressing the issue of mining operations landscape integration, and some guidance and integration strategies are formulated. In the second part of the text, a new approach to the landscape integration of mines and quarries is raised, closely linked to the concept of visuality which are based on a basic goal: the re-qualification of the place, and give innovative answers to re-qualify the place and show how to catch the opportunity in the deep transformation generated by the development of mining activities. As a conclusion, a case study is presented in the last section, the landscape integration study conducted on marble exploitations Coto Pinos (Alicante, Spain), considered the largest ornamental rock quarry in Europe. In this paper is proposing the concept of "visuality" as alternative to the classical concept of "visibility" used in landscape studies related to mining activity. It is raised a new approach to the landscape integration of mines and quarries closely linked to visuality, which is based on a main goal: the re-qualification of the place. Few basic integration strategies are summarized which can be simultaneously implemented in a landscape integration process, and the case study of marble quarries of Coto Pinoso (Alicante, Spain) is presented.

Obtaining the public acceptance in a rehabilitation project is still considered a challenge. This can be accomplished by reducing the visual adverse impacts and incorporate aesthetic aspects in quarry rehabilitation projects. In visual impact assessment study, the primary functions were to identify key viewpoints from which the quarry will be visible. Techniques for assessing landscape quality, sensibility or fragility, considered increasingly important in landscape planning process, were developed and put into practice; in this respect, numerical values were used to assign factors such as slope, vegetation, observation distance, visual magnitude and human activities. Computerized visual simulations were used to illustrate the effect of quarry's development in the landscape as well as alternative design treatments. Digital landform profiles were projected, and an ecologically and aesthetically balanced combination of fill-in selected. Aiming in aesthetic appeal and fast visual impact minimization the plantation plan included native and non-native species. The results of the present study helped, both to achieve an executable and balanced project, as well as a public aesthetically accepted design. Nonetheless, it might be interesting to assume a broader aesthetic theory, which integrates both, ecological and scenic, aesthetics. The present study hypothesized the need of incorporating aesthetic values in landscape rehabilitation, and puts in evidence that visual impact assessment of a landscape in an objective and scientific manner is not difficult.
