The relative humidity effect on the wind power was extracted as a renewable energy for electricity production in Nassiriyah city - south of Iraq investigated for three years (2011-2013) by theoretical calculations. The study showed that the effect of relative humidity on the annual average of extracted wind power at the minimum altitude which is feasible for electricity production in this city (32 meter for α = 0.4 and 44 meter for α = 0.3) is limited, but it increase with the altitude to be noticeable at high altitude. The percentage loss on the annual average of power for moist air (due to relative humidity effect) uneffective and vary between (0.847% and 1.106%) at altitudes (15 m and 71 m) respectively.

To design and construct mosthydraulic structures, e.g. dams, it is essential to determine watershed runoff. If a watershed lacks any gaging station, thenhydrologic models can be utilized to estimate runoff. The Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) is one of the most widelyusedcomputerwatershed models. In this model, we need to input meteorological data, such as precipitation, temperature, wind speed, solar radiation, and relative humidity;as well as watershed data, including curvenumberandroughness coefficient, to calculate the watershed runoff. Some watershedshave weather stations, but there is a risk that the recordeddataof a station do not represent the whole watershed and the use of such data may cause error. Consequently, the error of estimated runoff error needs to be determined. This study deals with the sensitivity of runoff estimatedusing the SWAT model to the variations in meteorological parameters, such as precipitation, solar radiation, wind, humidity, and temperature. Results indicate that with a 30% decrease in the average monthly precipitation, sunshine, relative humidity, wind and temperature, we witness,respectively,a 64.27% decrease, 114.67% increase, 45.93% decrease, 126.12% increase, and 39.21% increase in the estimated runoff.. Runoff estimation is found to be most sensitive to wind speed and solar radiation,and least sensitive to temperature.

In the present work, the well-known Meteorological Radiation Model (MRM), a broadband solar radiation model, is engaged. This model utilizes common meteorological data, such as air temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure and sunshine duration, in order to calculate solar radiation through MRM for areas where such data are not available. Hourly values of the above meteorological parameters are acquired from 39 meteorological stations, evenly dispersed around Greece; hourly values of solar radiation are calculated from MRM. Then, by using an integrated spatial interpolation method, a Greek solar energy map is generated, providing annual solar energy values all over Greece.

Solar power systems have been at the forefront of the global energy market for at least one decade. In the meantime, the world has realised that the only environmentally-friendly option for power generation is the implementation of Renewable Energy Sources. In this context, the solar power systems have shown remarkable market penetration. Prior to PV installations, it is obvious that accurate solar radiation measurements are needed.
