Der AI Act ist das weltweit erste juristische Regelwerk für den Einsatz von künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) - mit Fokus auf die EU. Der Jurist, Philosoph und KI-Experte Marlon Possard erklärt im Interview mit "Talks at Works" (September 2025), welche Pflichten jetzt auf Unternehmen zukommen – und warum gerade Kommunikationsverantwortliche besonders gefordert sind.

Although it is less technologized than other language services, (partial) automation has also been witnessed in literary translation. Since 2017, neural machine translation (NMT) systems such as DeepL and, subsequently, large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT have been drastically changing, if not revolutionizing, the language industry. LLMs have larger context windows than NMT systems and allow for translations to be adapted to various reception situations. For instance, a text can be simultaneously translated and stylistically raised or lowered, and its literary form can be adapted in the target language. LLMs can also be useful for translating neologisms and other playful or creative textual elements. Despite the advantages of AI-based translation processes, some AI critics want literary translation to remain the sole preserve of humans. They speak of the impending destruction of the literary industry, a sensitive ecosystem, or of human creativity being connected to the desire to answer profound questions, which only humans are capable of, in the process of intellectual debate. Taking account of these conflicting positions, this contribution suggests that artificial intelligence can only transform literary translation in a sustainable way if humans are placed at the center of translation-relevant technological advancements.

Rozumienie pojęć autor czy autorstwo wydaje się na pierwszy rzut oka intuicyjne. Wystarczy przecież spojrzeć na stronę tytułową danej książki czy górną część pierwszej strony jakiegoś artykułu, aby poznać nazwisko osoby, której przypisuje się odpowiedzialność za stworzenie dzieła i jego wartość. Jednak takie postawienie sprawy, choć wygodne i użyteczne z rynkowego punktu widzenia, de facto upraszcza rozumienie procesu twórczego, wyklucza wielu jego uczestników, a w konsekwencji staje się krzywdzące i nieprawdziwe. Eppure la vertigine di infinito e impossibilità su cui punta lo scrittore argentino si mescolano nel contemporaneo all’euforia dei percorsi che ancora riescono, che bucano il marasma per affermarsi. Die Bezeichnung ›Literaturveranstaltungen im digitalen Zeitalter‹ deutet an, dass Literaturveranstaltungen aufgrund veränderter Rahmenbedingungen einem Wandel unterworfen sind. Daran schließt sich die Frage an, inwieweit Literaturveranstaltungen in einer Zeit, in der Menschen zunehmend digital vernetzt sind, noch zeitgemäß sind. ›Geschichten am Lagerfeuer‹ ist einer Charakterisierung von Lesungen entlehnt, die Charles Dickens getroffen hat. Er meinte damit die Begegnung zwischen Autor und Publikum, die, obwohl sie in großen Veranstaltungsstätten stattfand, dennoch etwas Heimeliges hatte. Von den Lesungen von Charles Dickens im 19. Jahrhundert hin zu Literaturveranstaltungen der Gegenwart hat sich viel verändert, sowohl, was die beteiligten Akteure und deren Interaktion betrifft als auch die Art und Weise der Inszenierung von Veranstaltungen. Este artigo tem como intuito analisar os hábitos de leitura dos alunos do curso Técnico em Informática Integrado ao Ensino Médio do IFRS – campus Farroupilha, a partir de dados obtidos em uma pesquisa realizada em 2014. Por meio de um recorte nos resultados obtidos, objetiva-se verificar a relação com a leitura, as influências, além de gostos e hábitos dos adolescentes. Como um dos resultados expressivos, fica evidente a influência do incentivo dos pais sobre o posicionamento quanto à prática da leitura. Ademais, há o reconhecimento da influência das redes sociais nos hábitos de leitura. A partir dos resultados, é possível reforçar a importância de que o docente conheça o perfil do aluno, para que possa atuar como mediador de leitura.

This paper brings architectural theory into contact with spatial theory developed in literary and cultural studies and human geography. Arguing that the basic principles of postcolonial and of Marxist spatial theories (as applied by David Harvey, Achille Mbembe, Doreen Massey, Edward Soja) require significant adaptation for a Cuban context, this paper begins to develop a new spatial theory appropriate to socialist post-Revolutionary Cuba. This adapted spatial theory which builds on architectural practice and theories can be applied to Cuban literary culture: this paper briefly examines the annual Havana book fair and literary festival, Feria. An examination of social space in Havana, and its representation in texts that provide an insight into those spaces for "global" readers, needs to be alert to the ways in which the politics of space remains foregrounded in Cuba, as well as the extent to which the accommodation of policies compatible with capitalist global trade and tourism begins to replicate the inequalities of capitalist spatial configurations.

O artigo descreve os resultados da pesquisa realizada em duas turmas do ensino fundamental II, tendo por objetivo abordar questões pertinentes ao ensino de literatura e à presença do texto literário no 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública estadual localizada no município de Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul. Buscou-se fazer, através de perguntas, um recorte da dimensão da presença e o interesse que a literatura desperta nos educandos, os incentivos, exemplos e motivações que fazem esses jovens estudantes tornarem-se efetivamente leitores. Em sua fase bibliográfica, esta pesquisa considerou textos que abordam a questão da leitura, compreensão e vivência literária, sob a perspectiva das relações que unem o indivíduo à coletividade, a obra literária, o jovem leitor e o modo como esta obra é percebida pelos jovens alunos do Ensino Fundamental II. Autores como Jessé Souza, Marisa Lajolo, Marshal Mcluhan, Michel de Certeau, Ricardo Azevedo, Zoara Failla e outros, que escreveram e escrevem sobre os desafios enfrentados pela literatura na cultura contemporânea e sua capacidade de chegar aos leitores, serviram de referência para as reflexões dispostas nesse artigo. Foram utilizados também, como dados relevantes para balizar a pesquisa, os resultados da 4ª e 5ª Edição da Pesquisa Retratos da Leitura no Brasil, trabalho coordenado pelo Instituto Pró-Livro (IPL) e executado pelo IBOPE inteligência. Essas pesquisas cobriram nacionalmente o cenário brasileiro sobre leitura na população brasileira de modo geral, sendo de vital importância para estimular reflexões sobre a leitura no Brasil e comparar os dados obtidos nas presentes pesquisas de âmbito nacional com a pesquisa realizada na escola em Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul.

This essay argues that under contemporary capitalism, all literary production is, at first approximation, commodity production. This has consequences for our understanding of the work of literary studies. We are no longer able to easily recur to preformed theories of the 'literary' as a category at least in some way exempt from extrinsic pressures. Attention to the 'literary market' remains superficial when it insists on paying attention chiefly to so-called literary fiction on the understanding that it has prima facie higher claims to our attention than popular genre fiction-it does not. In fact, as this essay argues, appreciation of the thorough commodification of art under capitalism asks us to take seriously the need to break with our categories; to insist on the primacy of interpretative attention in determining what kinds of fiction we study.

The present article analyses the function of paratextual and book trade dynamics and author self-presentation in contemporary Latin American literary field, focusing in the Mexican writer Álvaro Enrigue. From different points of view, the paper approaches the “illegible” and “hermetic” writings (Steiner, Prieto, Garramuño, Libertella) to which Enrigue has been related, as well as the symbolic capital, position and author “postures” (Bourdieu, Casanova, Escalante, Viala, Meizoz) in the literary social space.
Thereby, considering Enrigue’s work, the article concentrates in two author imaginaries: first, the “cult fiction”, and then, the “poor writer”, with the purpose of to reconstruct and analyse causes and procedures in the Mexican writer`s reception.

¿Malos tiempos para la dificultad? Álvaro Enrigue, mercado y postura autorial
El presente artículo analiza el funcionamiento de las dinámicas paratextuales y mercantiles, y las representaciones de autor, en el campo literario de las estéticas latinoamericanas contemporáneas, centrándose en el caso del escritor mexicano Álvaro Enrigue. Desde distintas aproximaciones teóricas, se abordan tanto las escrituras "ilegibles" o "herméticas" del continente (Steiner, Prieto, Garramuño, Libertella), a las que se ha vinculado a Enrigue, como las diferentes estrategias posicionales, crediticias, y de postura autorial (Bourdieu, Casanova, Escalante, Viala, Meizoz) desplegadas en el espacio social en el que se inserta ese discurso literario. Así, partiendo de la lectura contrastiva de la obra enrigueana, el artículo se nuclea en torno a dos ejes o imágenes de autor: la "novela de culto", en un primer momento y, posteriormente, el "escritor pobre", con el objetivo de reconstruir y analizar las causas y procedimientos de la recepción de la obra del autor mexicano. The volume Literary Activism, edited by Amit Chaudhuri, assembles the papers presented by academics, novelists, poets, translators, and publishers at the eponymous symposium held in December 2014 in Calcutta. The authors outline three strands that constitute the field of literary activism: The critical observation and evaluation of the global literary market and its market activism, the role of universities and literary studies as well as the role of translators within this global literary market. The book provides a well-informed and critical overview of a relatively new field of research located at the intersections of sociology of literature, history of science, world literature, and translation studies.

"Bei meinen Lesungen und Vorträgen widmeten die örtlichen Medien den 20 Demonstranten, die vor der Tür Schilder wie ›Sarrazin, halt’s Maul‹ hochhielten, regelmäßig weitaus mehr Berichtszeilen als dem Inhalt des Vortrags und der Diskussion im Saal mit 400 oder 700 Zuhörern. Allenfalls war zu lesen, dass der ›umstrittene Autor‹ im Ton ›erstaunlich sachlich‹ gewesen sei."
Die zitierte Selbsteinschätzung Thilo Sarrazins veranschaulicht, welche Wirkung Autorenlesungen erreichen können. Veranstaltungen mit dem ehemaligen Finanzsenator, besonders zu seinem Erstlingswerk Deutschland schafft sich ab, spalteten die Republik in zwei Lager und riefen vor Ort zum Teil große Proteste hervor. Sarrazins Auftritte wurden vor dem Hintergrund der erregten öffentlichen Diskussion nicht mehr nur als Autorenlesungen verstanden, sondern erhielten Eventcharakter und wurden damit zum gefragten Thema in der medialen Berichterstattung.
Im vorliegenden Beitrag sollen Autorenlesungen und Buchvorstellungen kommunikationswissenschaftlich untersucht werden. Es stellt sich daher die Frage, wie sich die beiden Veranstaltungsformen mit kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Ansätzen erklären lassen. Es wird beschrieben, dass Buchvorstellungen und Lesungen vor allem Instrumente des Literaturmarketings sind, die zur Aufmerksamkeitserringung eingesetzt werden. Zunächst führt der Beitrag deshalb in die Überlegungen der "Ökonomie der Aufmerksamkeit" ein. Anschließend werden dem Leser die wesentlichen Selektionshürden massenmedialer Berichterstattung, die die Arbeit von Verlagen beeinflussen, präsentiert. Lesungen und Buchvorstellungen werden danach in die kommunikationswissenschaftliche Ereignisklassifizierung eingeordnet und hinsichtlich ihrer Rolle für das Literaturmarketing analysiert. Abschließend wird ein Modell des Literaturvermarktungsprozesses präsentiert, das die unterschiedlichen Kommunikationswege bei der Buchvermarktung darstellt und die beiden vorgestellten Veranstaltungsformen integriert.
