Enterprise Information Integration

The high cost of data consolidation is the key market inhibitor to the adoption of traditional information integration and data warehousing solutions. In this paper, we outline a next-generation integrated database management system that takes traditional information integration, content management, and data warehouse techniques to the next level: the system will be able to integrate a very large number of information sources and automatically construct a global business view in terms of "Universal Business Objects". We describe techniques for discovering, unifying, and aggregating data from a large number of disparate data sources. Enabling technologies for our solution are XML, web services, caching, messaging, and portals for real-time dashboarding and reporting.

The huge amount of data currently available to enterprises needs to be exploited to their advantage, as the lack of information can decide the future of the enterprise in the near future. On enterprises development in recent years has been greatly influenced by the rapid development of technologies for processing and organizing them. These technologies share the role of an information integrator to support decision-making at all levels of the manufacturing enterprise. Enterprise resource planning is a key transactional application of enterprise information systems. Its main features include the ability to automate and integrate key business processes, functions and data across the enterprise.

This paper is about why is Data Integration important for organisations around the world. Organizations struggle daily with the challenges of large distributed data volumes, inconsistently defined data across disparate systems and the high expectations of data consumers who depend on information to be correct, complete and available when they need it. SAS Enterprise Data Integration Server provides a comprehensive solution that enables organizations to solve these challenges in a timely, cost-effective manner with the ability to efficiently manage data integration projects on an enterprise scale, increasing overall productivity and reducing the total cost of ownership.

Enterprise information integration (EII) requires an accurate, precise and complete understanding of the disparate data sources, the needs of the information consumers, and how these map to the business concepts of the enterprise. In practice, such integration takes place in context of any enterprise information system. In the paper we explain various approaches to EII, its architectures as well as its association to enterprise application integration. We justify why XML technology contributes to finding sufficiently powerful support for EII. We present some features of the XML technology, mainly its database part, and show how it is usable in EII.

Information Retrieval from heterogeneous information systems is required but challenging at the same as data is stored and represented in different data models in different information systems.Information integrated from heterogeneous data sources into single data source are faced upon by major challenge of information transformation-were in different formats and constraints in data transformation are used in data integration for the purpose of integrating information systems, at the same is not cost effective. This paper introduces ideaof Information integration based on search criteria from heterogeneous data sources into single data source. Every element of information source such as entity, field, and relation is mapped to component of new single text source-created every time heterogeneous information systems are searched and result is saved into new text file. This approach allows us to create new text file and delete existing file, modifiying wrapper, making modifications later and managing data retrieval in a simple unified style. This architecture is flexible enough to incorporate variety of data models and query capabilities by various protocols. It is possible to select logically tied information from all available legacy data sources.

The idea of master data and master data management (MDM) evolved from the increased necessities of enterprises for a more efficient and effective data management, requiring unification and integration of enterprise-wide data from multiple systems. In order to do that, many companies are considering MDM solutions, which automate data integration across various systems and applications. The paper aims to establish the correct position and role of the MDM in the enterprise IT (Information Technology) systems and to identify the main approaches, trends and solutions in the emergent area of enterprise MDM.

Business agility remains to be the keyword that drives the business into different directions and enabling a 360 degree shift in the business process. This paper addresses the issues in the approaches, techniques and models pertaining to information integration and identifies the problem for a need for a complete model. As SOA is the architectural style that is changing the business patterns today, this paper proposes a service oriented model for information integration. The model mainly focuses on giving a complete structure for information integration that is adaptable to any environment and open in nature. Here information is converted into service and then the information services are integrated through service oriented integration to provide the integrated information also as service.

One the most challenging problems for Enterprise Information Integration is to deal with heterogeneous information sources on the Web. The reason is that they usually provide information that is in human-readable form only, which makes it difficult for a software agent to understand it. Current solutions build on the idea of annotating the information with semantics. If the information is unstructured, proposals such as SCREAM , MnM, or Armadillo may be effective enough since they rely on using natural language processing techniques; furthermore, their accuracy can be improved by using redundant information on the Web, as C-PANKOW has proved recently. If the information is structured and closely related to a back-end database, Deep Annotation ranges among the most effective proposals, but it requires the information providers to modify their applications; if Deep Annotation is not applicable, the easiest solution consists of using a wrapper and transforming its output into annotations. In this paper, we prove that this transformation can be automated by means of an efficient, domain-independent algorithm. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to devise and formalize such a systematic, general solution.

Today's Internet economy has primed customers to expect immediate access and immediate results. But instant results are difficult to achieve when your customers want up-to-the-minute information about themselves: account balances, detailed transactional histories across all products, immediate problem resolution, and recommended advice on future purchases. Their expectation is that they will get the same interaction with your company whether they communicate with you via telephone, the web, a kiosk, or e-mail. To retain customers and make better decisions, businesses must step up the pace. Customers and systems need access to events-like orders, shipments, and paymentsthe moment they occur. They need to be able to act on events automatically, in real time. The prescription: a "Zero Latency Enterprise".

The integration of enterprise information systems has unique requirements and frequently poses problems to business partners. We discuss specific integration issues for micro-sized enterprises on the special case of independent sales agencies and their suppliers. We argue that the enterprise information systems of those independent enterprises are technically best represented by equal peers. Therefore, we have designed the Peer-To-Peer (P2P) integration architecture VIANA for the integration of enterprise information systems. Its architecture provides materializing P2P integration using optimistic replication. It is applicable to inter-and intraorganizational integration scenarios. It is accomplished by the propagation of write operations between peers. We argue that this type of integration can be realized with no alteration of the participating information systems.

Today's fast and continuous growth of large business organizations enforces the need to integrate and share data coming from a number of heterogeneous and distributed data sources. To solve this kind of problem, data federation tools suggest the adoption of a database management system as a kind of middleware infrastructure that uses a set of wrappers to access heterogeneous data sources. In this paper, we highlight federation tools limitations with respect to the information integration problem and show how data integration systems overcome such limitations. We propose then two different techniques to implement a data integration system using a data federation tool. Finally, we present experimental results that compare the two solutions.

La información es considerada hoy como uno de los principales recursos que posee la empresa. Muchas veces esta información se encuentra dispersa en diferentes fuentes de datos que conforman las aplicaciones de negocios de la empresa. Ante el reto aún presente en la mayoría de las organizaciones de alcanzar una efectiva integración de los datos, resulta imperioso que las empresas opten por mecanismos cada vez más avanzados que le permitan utilizar de manera favorable los recursos y fuentes de información para el logro de sus objetivos. En este artículo las autoras discuten la utilidad de los Datos Empresariales Enlazados para lograr una efectiva integración de los datos en la empresa, así como un marco general para su aplicación. Se presenta también el estudio de algunas herramientas tecnológicas que permitirán la implementación del marco general de integración de datos basada en LED.

This paper addresses the issue of integrating agents with a variety of external resources and services, as found in enterprise computing environments. We propose an approach for interfacing agents and existing message routing and mediation engines based on the endpoint concept from the enterprise integration patterns of Hohpe and Woolf. A design for agent endpoints is presented, and an architecture for connecting the Jason agent platform to the Apache Camel enterprise integration framework using this type of endpoint is described. The approach is illustrated by means of a business process use case, and a number of Camel routes are presented. These demonstrate the benefits of interfacing agents to external services via a specialised message routing tool that supports enterprise integration patterns.

Information integration is a key benefit of Enterprise systems. This integration can replace functionally oriented and often poorly connected legacy software, resulting in savings in infrastructure support costs."[1]. The software integration process is complex and it requires a lot of resources to successfully accomplish objectives. Systems integration can be achieved in several ways: integration by entities, integration via portal and integration through business processes. In this paper, we will present some possible ways of integrating systems (integration through business processes and services) and some types of information systems used by companies as well as possible ways of integrating these systems. Systems integration also implies integration of the data handled by these systems, so we will present also some ways of data integration. Finally, we will describe a technique for testing the integrated operation of a software product.

Using Business Intelligence in the cloud is considered a key factor for success in various fields in 2018, about 66 percent of successful organizations in BI already using cloud. 86% of Cloud BI adopters choose Amazon AWS as their first choice, 82% choose Microsoft Azure, 66% choose Google Cloud, and 36% identify IBM Bluemix as their preferred provider of cloud BI services. In recent years, both Business Intelligence and cloud computing have undergone dramatic changes and advancements. The newest capabilities that these recent developments bring forth are introduced. In this paper the latest technologies in the field of Cloud (SaaS) BI is introduced. The paper shows also that many of the current problems in Cloud (SaaS) BI can be solved by enhance the performance and increase the use and acceptance of this technology. Many of the key characteristics of Business Intelligence systems tend to complement those of cloud computing systems and vice versa. Therefore, when integrated properly, these two technologies can be made to strengthen each other's advantages and eliminate each other's weaknesses.

Business Intelligence (BI) deals with integrated approaches to management support. In many cases, the integrated infrastructures that are subject to BI have become complex, costly, and inflexible. A possible remedy for these issues might arise on the horizon with "Cloud Computing" concepts that promise new options for a net based sourcing of hard-and software. Currently, there is still a dearth of concepts for defining, designing, and structuring a possible adaption of Cloud Computing to the domain of BI. This contribution combines results from the outsourcing and the BI literature and derives a framework for delineating "Cloud BI" approaches. This is the bases for the discussion of six possible scenarios -some of which within immediate reach today.
