Peningkatan produktivitas sangatlah penting bagi perusahaan untuk memperoleh keberhasilan pada proses usahanya. Salah satu contoh peningkatan produktivitas adalah dengan mengevaluasi kinerja fasilitas produksi pada perusahaan. Untuk itu perlu adanya pemantauan terhadap suatu proses produksi tersebut untuk mengetahui kualitas kinerjanya. Salah satu metode untuk memantau hal tersebut adalah Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Overall Equipment Effectiveness atau OEE adalah suatu perhitungan yang dilakukan untuk menentukan nilai efektivitas mesin atau peralatan yang tersedia serta mengevaluasi kualitas proses produksi yang ada di suatu perusahaan serta sebagai indikator performa mesin atau sistem dalam kurun waktu tertantu.
Projek OEE tersebut dilakukan atas banyaknya permintaan klien di PT. Beckhoff Indonesia, sebuah perusahaan internasional yang bergerak di bidang penjualan part elektronik dan sistem otomasi yang mencakup berbagai aspek kehidupan. Perancangan diawali dengan membuat konsep dari sistem OEE yang akan diterapkan. Setelah itu, konsep tersebut diaplikasikan kedalam program bernama Twincat XAE Shell. Dan terdapat beberapa troubleshoot untuk memperbaiki bug dan error pada program tersebut. Variabel dalam rumus OEE diperoleh dari research melalui internet dan hasil diskusi dengan pihak PT. Beckhoff.
Berdasarkan hasil permasalahan yang ada, dihasilkan Sistem berupa untuk monitoring Overall Equipment Effectiveness dengan menggunakan software TwinCAT XAE Shell yang dilengkapi dengan HMI (Human Machine Interface). Sistem monitoring tersebut dapat mendeteksi tingkat OEE, Availibility, Performance, dan Quality dalam suatu perusahaan.

Pesawat latih robot lengan atau dalam Bahasa Inggrisnya adalah Robot Arm Trainer dibuat untuk melengkapi sarana pembelajaran praktek mahasiswa Teknik Mesin Politeknik TEDC Bandung. Sarana pembelajaran khususnya peralatan dan bahan untuk praktek merupakan hal yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar (KBM), karena dengan adanya pesawat latih ini mahasiswa akan mendapatkan pengalaman yang mendekati kenyataan seperti di dunia kerja nantinya. Terlebih lagi dari segi kemampuan motorik mahasiswa akan terbentuk karena harus melakukan beberapa langkah pekerjaan dalam mengoperasikan pesawat latih ini. Sistem yang dipakai adalah sistem pneumatik, sehingga akan cocok sebagai pesawat latih untuk praktek mata kuliah pneumatik. Proses pembuatannya akan meliputi perancangan gambar teknik, dimana dalam gambar teknik ini akan dibuat model pesawat latih tersebut beserta fungsi-fungsi pergerakannya. Setelah desainnya terbentuk maka akan dilakukan perhitungan kekuatan titik-titik tumpu dan lengan-lengan robot yang ada agar dapat dikalkulasikan baik keamanan maupun kemampuan pesawat latih ini. Selanjutnya adalah merakit pesawat latih menggunakan teknik sambungan atau joint yang dapat bergerak sesuai fungsi pergerakan tiap-tiap lengan pesawat latih ini. Untuk kesesuaian pergerakan menggunakan sistem elektro-pneumatik yang dikontrol oleh programmable logic control (PLC). Tahap terakhir yang dilakukan dalam perancangan ini adalah menguji kinerja pesawat latih yang dirakit apakah sesuai dengan rancangan awal dan sesuai pula pergerakannya sehingga dapat dipakai sebagai alat praktek. Berdasarkan pengujian, kekuatan tumpuan-tumpuan sambungan (joint) masih dapat bertahan dan mampu menggerakkan lengan-lengan robotnya, hal ini dikarenakan tegangan yang terjadi masih di bawah batas tegangan yang diijinkan sehingga pesawat latih ini dapat dikatakan aman.

Dalam proses produksi kabel low voltage size 2 x 10 mm 1 kV pada mesin Extruder 90 Waitaklung adalah salah satu mesin yang penting dalam proses pembuatan kabel (pembungkusan konduktor) , maka perlu diperhatikan pada saat sebelum proses sedang proses maupun setelah proses sehingga kabel yang di produksi mempunyai kualitas yang baik. Pada proses pembuatan kabel ukuran 2 x 10 mm menggunakan dies wire Drawing dari ukuran 6,30 mm – 1,35 mm setelah dari Dies Drawing wire di proses pilin pada mesin Stranding lalu proses wire konduktor diisolasi dengan bahan material XLPE (crosslink polyethylene) pada mesin Extruder yang meliputi payoff, tensioner, Extruder, cooling through, Caterpillar, spark tester, traverse, takeup. Serta ditarik dengan mesin Caterpillar sehingga kabel menuju haspel untuk dikemas.

Rejection of manufactured parts at various stages of manufacturing cannot be tolerated now days in production scenario due to tough competition worldwide. All manufacturing industries are moving in the direction of zero defect production. To implement this, the first and most important thing which is being done by the manufacturing industries is to prevent the error or completely eliminate the error with the application of some proven techniques. Poka yoke is one of the techniques and this paper focuses on an application of this technique on a drilling fixture of a drilling machine at a cell in gear manufacturing company. As a result of the application of poka yoke on a drilling fixture, possibility of drilling on the opposite face of a gear is eliminated completely.

Di era globalisasi dan zaman yang semakin berkembang ini segala urusan dituntut untuk cepat dan tepat waktu, salah satu diantaranya adalah kebutuhan berwirausaha untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi. Sesuai keadaan tersebut manusia membuat mesin cetak hot press manual dengan penekannya menggunakan tenaga manusia, namun mesin cetak hot press tersebut mempunyai penekanan yang tidak konstan sehingga kualitas produksi tidak sempurna. Melihat permasalahan tersebut, maka penelitian ini membahas tentang mesin cetak hot press menggunakan penekan angin (pneumatik). Pembuatan mesin hot press dengan pneumatik ini dimulai dari proses desain gambar, dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan dan perencanaan mesin dan pembuatan mesin itu sendiri. Tujuan dimaksudkan agar diketahui bahan dan ukuran komponen mesin. Mesin press didesain untuk menekan gaya 520 N menggunakan batang silinder berdiameter 1,6 cm. Pembuatan kerangka mesin cetak hot press pneumatik menggunakan besi dengan ukuran tebal 6 mm, panel box berukuran Panjang: 22 cm, Lebar: 16 cm dan Tinggi: 29 cm. Luas matras adalah, panjang: 80 mm, lebar 50 mm dan tebal minimal 16 mm sampai maksimal 95 mm, dengan ketebalan minimal motif 1 mm. Setelah diketahui komponen mesin maka dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan daya kompressor. Debit kompressor yang harus dialirkan kedalam silinder pneumatik adalah = 104 1/menit, sehingga harus menggunakan daya kompressor= 61 kW. Dan dilanjutkan pemasangan komponen mesin yaitu meliputi landasan selinder, landasan bidang kerja, penempatan perangkat pneumatik, penempatan pemanas dan penghitung waktu. Dengan terwujudnya rancangan mesin cetak hot press pneumatik, diharapkan menjadi jawaban atas masalah yang sedang dihadapi sampai saat ini. UKM Alam Batik merupakan produsen pengrajin batik yang memiliki berbagai tahapan dalam proses produksi pembuatan kerajinan batik, salah satunya adalah proses pembuatan pada batik cap. Kebakaran adalah bencana yang tidak diinginkan oleh siapapun. Kebakaran bisa terjadi kapan dan dimana saja, salah satunya adalah perkantoran, gedung, gudang, bahkan hutan. Kebakaran pada bangunan dapat menyebabkan kerugian baik sifat material maupun nonmaterial. UNtuk memadamkan kebaran perlu peralatan pendukung contohnya Kit Pemadam Kebakaran (KPK) yaitu alat penggulung selang pemadam kebakaran. Untuk memproduksi alat ini diperlukan suatu alat bantu produksi dalam hal pencekaman benda kerja yang akan dijadikan produk kit pemadam kebakaran. Untuk memproduksi Penggulung Selang Pemadam Kebakaran diperlukan alat bantu produksi yaitu untuk melakukan pemegang benda kerja agar semua benda yang dihasilkan akan sama bentuk dan dimensinya. Maka dalam hal ini digunakan alat penepat yang didesain untuk memegang, menyangga dan memposisikan setiap bagian sehingga setiap pengelasan yang dilakukan sesuai dengan batas spesifikasi. Dalam proses perancangan dan pembuatannya, Alat Penepat Pengelasan Untuk Produksi KPK ini menggunakan perangkat lunak untuk menghitung beban yang mampu ditahan oleh alat bantu produksi ini dan untuk proses pembuatannya digunakan alat seperti gerinda potong, mesin bor dan alat perkakas kerja bangku lainnya. Alat bantu ini dapat menahan berat benda sampai dengan 50 kg. dengan lendutan yang terjadi sebesar 0.055 mm.

Kegagalan produk adalah kondisi suatu produk yang tidak sesuai dengan maksud atau tujuan yang diinginkan. Pengendalian kegagalan produk merupakan suatu sistem verifikasi dan penjagaan/ perawatan dari suatu tingkatan kualitas produk atau proses yang dikehendaki. Sejalan dengan tujuan pemerintah untuk mewujudkan Indonesia sebagai negara industri yang tangguh pada tahun 2025, perlunya dukungan terhadap industri komponen otomotif dalam proses produksi untuk memenuhi kubutuhan dalam negeri. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah target cycle time pada assembling transmission FF tidak tercapai (melebihi target waktu yang ada di TSK PT. Saat ini banyak berkembang sentra  industri rumahan yang berkembang di masyarakat.  Salah satunya adalah industri rumahan yang memproduksi sandal.  Dalam proses produksinya pengrajin sandal masih sangat mengandalkan keterampilan tangan atau handmade,peralatan yang digunakan pun masih sangat minim. Fixtures play an important role in the machining process. They are mostly used in mass production as they can reduce the loading and unloading time. Most of the small-scale industries in India look forward to affordable and effective fixtures which will save total lead time for the machining process. There are many operations such as turning, shaping, drilling that require skilled workers and any error in it will directly or indirectly affect the quality of the workpiece which is not acceptable. The fixture designing itself may be a vital process as a fixture is customized for every product. The accuracy and precision in the dimensions of fixture are important Fixtures thus helps by reducing all these variables and attributes in operation by providing support to the workpiece or component. The workpiece must be fixed and supported in a proper way when any mechanical operations are performed over it. It will be beneficial as it will reduce labor efforts, reduce loading-unloading time and improve the production of the workpiece. The analysis is going to be done on software called SOLIDWORKS 2019 while the modeling on CATIA V5 R12 and the design of fixture will be as per the requirement of the Industry. The component for which the fixture is to be designed is an automobile component that is rectangular in shape. Milling, drilling and grooving are the main operations.

Mesin uji gesek atau tribometer adalah alat yang digunakan untuk melakukan tes gesekan pada material. Salah satu jenis mesin uji gesek yang sering digunakan yaitu tipe pin on disk. Pada umumnya, tipe pin on disk menggunakan metode pembebanan secara manual dengan massa bandul. Kekurangan dari metode tersebut adalah tidak fleksibel. Tujuan tugas akhir ini untuk merancang mesin uji gesek tipe pin on disk yang menggunakan mekanisme pembebanan sistem pneumatik. Desain mekanisme dirancang dengan mempertimbangkan kebutuhan penelitian yaitu mampu membaca gaya gesek, data gaya gesek dapat disimpan dalam komputer, posisi pin dapat diatur, dan gaya pembebanan dapat divariasi secara mudah. Hasil mesin uji gesek yang dirancang mampu membaca gaya gesek hingga 500 N, mampu memvariasi gaya tekan hingga 250 N dan dapat melakukan perekaman data dengan bantuan software AdamView.

Kaizen merupakan suatu perbaikan secara terus menerus untuk meningkatkan keselamatan kerja, kualitas, produktivitas dan biaya. Salah satu perusahaan elektronik rumah tangga yang memproduksi produk berupa AC menerapkan metode kaizen pada proses produksinya. Dari pengamatan dengan metode kaizen, didapatkan bahwa mesin feeder kurang efektif karena umur komponen yang lebih kecil dari yang telah dirancang. pada mesin feeder dengan sistem pneumatik didapatkan jika distribusi beban tidak seimbang dan menyebabkan keausan dini pada piston. Keausan dini menyebabkan peningkatan frekuensi kerusakan dan waktu henti karena pemeliharaan. Untuk mengimplementasikan kaizen, dilakukan modifikasi untuk menciptakan distribusi beban yang lebih seimbang. Modifikasi penyeimbangan lengan robot feeder menghasilkan frekuensi breakdown yang lebih rendah dan meningkatkan usia pakai piston.

Mesin coil forming adalah alat bantu produksi pembentuk coil untuk motor listrik dan generator. Mesin tersebut berfungsi untuk mengubah bentuk coil yang oval menjadi bentuk diamond. Mesin yang dikaji pada penelitian ini adalah mesin coil forming Potter Rayfield and James dengan model 48/GEAR/IP/RCW/IRJ Coil Spreader. Pengkajian ini dimaksudkan sebagai referensi dalam pengembangan produk existing yang serupa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengkajian mesin ini menggunakan metode reverse engineering. Metode tersebut terdiri dari enam tahap, yaitu; identifikasi tujuan; pembedahan secara mekanik; pengkajian fungsi; pengkajian material; pengkajian manufaktur; serta evaluasi produk existing. Hasil pengkajian produk existing ini berupa spesifikasi mesin, serta hasil evaluasi yang berupa safety factor. Dengan tekanan sistem yang berjalan pada 7 bar, mesin coil forming memiliki safety factor yang berbeda-beda disetiap proses pembentukan coil. Safety factor terkecil terjadi pada proses pendorongan coil oleh mesin, yaitu sebesar 1.28.

The diffusion of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) was recently boosted by the expiration of the FDM patent and the subsequent worldwide development of low cost FDM machines by a huge number of small companies. In most of the cases, FDM machines are worth what they cost. Thus the performance of expensive industrial FDM systems is better than that of low cost machines, also known as 3D printers. In this paper a benchmarking is carried out between a Dimension Elite TM by Stratasys and a 3D Touch TM by Bits from Bytes (BFB). The study and comparison is based on a reference part that was designed to fit into the building volume of most of low cost FDM machines. The part includes several classic geometries (planes, cylinders, spheres and cones) of different sizes to cover several ranges of basic sizes as defined by the ISO 286 standard. Geometric features appear both in the concave and convex shapes to account for all design possibilities. The proposed reference part allows to consider a higher number of features for each range of basic sizes with respect to other benchmarking models presented in the literature. Moreover the part does not require support structures for its production, allowing for manufacturing on 3D printers that come with a unique extruder. Replicas of the reference part are printed out of ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) material with different layer thicknesses using the compared machines. After inspecting the replicas by means of a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), the dimensional accuracy of the compared FDM systems is reported through part quality using IT grades associated with the ISO basic sizes. GD&T values are also evaluated for some of the geometric features appearing on the reference part.

An innovative benchmark representing a dental arch with classic features corresponding to different kinds of prepared teeth is proposed. Dental anatomy and general rules for tooth preparation are taken into account. This benchmark includes tooth orientation and provides oblique surfaces similar to those of real prepared teeth. The benchmark is produced by additive manufacturing (AM) and subjected to digitization by a dental three-dimensional scanner. The evaluation procedure proves that the scan data can be used as reference model for crown restorations design. Therefore this benchmark is at the basis for comparative studies about different CAD/CAM and AM techniques for dental crowns.

Kegiatan proses produksi dituntut lebih efektif dalam menghasilkan produk. Peningkatan kemampuan kapasitas produksi berkaitan dengan sumber daya manusia dan teknologi. Meningkatkan teknologi bagi perusahaan dapat memberikan keuntungan bukan hanya mempermudah kerja karyawan namun juga berupa efektif, efisiensi waktu, tempat, jumlah karyawan, maupun dana. Penentuan perancangan berdasarkan permintaan dari user yang mengalami masalah pada mesin produksi tersebut. Teaching aids are tools used to teach and help explain the material. The teaching aids that the author makes are pneumatic system props and testing of two double acting cylinders moving simultaneously continuously. This teaching aid is made through the design stage. This teaching aid was made to serve as a learning practicum tool in the Jambi Polytechnic workshop and to conduct testing. In the final project report, the author made a pneumatic system that has the actuator motion automatically. Thus the components used to make the actuator move automatically, namely 4 manifold ports, 1 3/2 pushbutton valve, 2 3/2 roller valves, 1 5/2 double pilot valve where the air flow will be branched using a T fitting to each each cylinder, namely cylinder 1 and cylinder 2. This teaching aid has a length of 80 cm, a width of 80 cm and a height of 150 cm. All pneumatic components are mounted on pneumatic sliding boards by connecting them with pneumatic rails.

If the material has many holes to be drilled, then the procedure adopted is by marking out with a center punch, setting on the machine (Drill Press Machine), and holding the workpiece. This is time consuming and dangerous as the students need to hold the material they throughout the drilling process. The process of designing and manufacturing a Cartesian 3D printer model based on Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is carried out to produce a 3D printer machine that can perform the printing process accurately and quickly. In this research, the process is divided into three stages, namely designing using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, printing and assembling components of a 3D printer machine, and analysing the mechanical structure of a 3D printer machine. This 3D printer is designed to carry out the printing process with an area of 180x180x150 mm. Some components of 3D printing machines use Polylactic Acid (PLA). The simulation results based on the Finite Element Method show that the 3D printer engine is feasible to produce printing with a mass of 40% of the maximum possible load.

The workpiece must be fixed and supported in a proper way when any mechanical operations are performed over it. It will be beneficial as it will reduce labor efforts, reduce loading-unloading time and improve the production of the workpiece. Currently, the use of work holding devices such as clamps greatly affects the productivity and economy of a large number of processed workpieces. This device reduces the production cost and ensures interchangeability of machined work pieces. In fixture design for the manufacturing of part, there are various challenges and serious problems in industry. Precision is one of the most important issues in the machining process and main cause for rejection is the part static deformation and dynamic vibration. And also hectic to worker for job mounting, and perpendicular error of drill with vertical axis, which influence the efficiency and quality of fixture design. For accuracy of drill at specific point the job is to be fixed properly. In order to mount job accurately hydraulic clamps are used which results in perpendicular accuracy of drill with vertical axis is up to 20 microns.

In machining operation it is necessary to clamp the component on the fixture and avoid unwanted vibrations while machining on the component in order to achieve precision while performing various machining operations like Cover Face Milling, Bearing Cap Face Mounting Milling, Drilling, and Tapping. To perform these operations more accurately on the AL-Nissan 180M Advantek Series Differential Carrier on a Vertical Machining Center (VMC) to achieve accuracy, reduce clamping time and apparently economic saving. The Hydraulic Swing Type clamps are designed according to the requirement of clamping force. The design is evaluated in FEA software ANSYS by performing Modal, Harmonic Response and Static Structural analysis.

Present work is aimed at research of locating and clamping process of prismatic parts in fixtures during the machining on drilling-milling-boring machines. The fundamental approach for developing mathematical modeling of the system "fixture-workpiece" has been proposed. It allows to determine critical frequencies of functional elements oscillations and amplitude-frequency response characteristics, as well as dynamic component of fixture deformations at operating frequency of the machining process. The developed mathematical model is evaluated by numerical calculations of spectrum of critical frequencies considering the stiffness of cutting tool. The further researches are directed on the development of the methodology of calculation of the system "fixture-workpiece" by computer means of numerous realization and development of practical recommendations regarding its use during fixture design.
