Typically in a restaurant food order process involves several steps for ordering the food where firstly customer starting from browsing the paper based menu and then inform to the waiter for ordering items. Usually the process require that the customer has to be seated before starting. An alternative method for the customers is "Food Pre-Order System using Web Based Application" in which customer can be able to create the order before they approach the restaurant. Customer using Smartphone. When the customer approach to the restaurant, the saved order can be confirmed by touching the Smartphone. The list of selected pre-ordered items shall be shown on the kitchen screen, and when confirmed, order slip shall be printed for further order processing. The solution provides easy and convenient way to select pre-order transaction form customers.

Time is the biggest asset of today's generation. Patience is not common now a days and people hardly have anytime to wait. In such scenarios, making people to sit idle for waiters so that their order may be taken and serviced is not an appropriate task. Many potential customers have a short recess and lunch duration; their limited leisure time cannot be wasted in undesired waiting task. This application named "Automated ordering System" allows the user to directly order their food online without going through the trouble of calling the waiter repeatedly. The only prerequisite is the presence of an android application with the name C-canteen in their mobile phones. Comparing with the manual ordering system where a lot of paper work is involved in keeping records and maintaining files, this software is free from such time taking, risky and tedious tasks as there is an inbuilt data base system for keeping all the records. The users have to simply register online, go through the e-menu card and order their desired food item without any trouble.

Catering Service for food/Online Cafe (OC) is the software designed to order food online for Customers. The prime objective of the project is to provide smart and effective service to the end-users. It is a web-based application that is built using JAVA with a user-friendly interface for customers to browse the catalogue and order the food online. The shop keepers can include as many products as possible and also categorize them as they prioritize, manage orders and process the payments. The clients have to make their own choice and choose their preferred mode of payment and wait for the delivery of their food items. The OC system processes all sorts of information related to the order type options. It facilitates an end to end solution in online food ordering. By adopting this new approach, the information can be accessed with just a single click. The study focuses on a web application in JAVA for online food ordering system and provides an option for the restaurant owners to update their food menu as well. This study also focuses on establishing effective connectivity between the front end (shopkeeper and customer) and back-end (admin) using JAVA database connectivity with MySQL. INTRODUCTION The technological innovations and advancements in information and communication technology have undergone a paradigm change in the last decade. Ever-rapidly evolving strategies that adapt itself to the ever-changing human practices are the need of the hour. Despite innovations happening very rapidly across various industries, Food industry had always been lagging in terms of innovations, novelty and modernization. With online presence being felt across all industries, the food industry has undergone a revolutionary change in practice in the last five years. Food systems these days have undergone a massive shift from being supply-driven to demand-driven [1]. In the past, the food industry traditionally lagged behind other industries in adapting itself to innovations and newer technologies. Recent advances in the field of computer technology and ever-increasing expectations from the end-users (consumers) have made it mandatory for the food industry to bring in a full-fledged automated process that enabled complete transparency in the food sale and distribution process [2]. Another motivation can be considered as the increasing use of smartphones by the customers so that any users of this system get all service of the system. The system will be designed to avoid users doing fatal errors where users can change their profile also where users can track their food items through GPS and where users can provide feedback and recommendations to Restaurants/Mess service providers. There's a need for the system due to lack of a full-fledge application that can fulfil the customer requirements by providing him food from restaurants/mess service. For the students studying in different cities, our system will be very helpful. The flexibility to the Customers/Users to order from either Restaurants or Mess is provided by our system. A recommendation to the customers is also provided from the restaurants/mess owners which are updated daily. There will be no limitation on the amount of order the customer wants by ordering food from our system. As a Startup Business for the developers, the same system application can be used. Real-time customer's feedback ratings are provided by our system with the comments to the restaurants/mess owner. It gives appropriate feedbacks to users, so if there is any error happened, and then there will be a feedback dialogue toward users. To avoid users doing fatal errors and inappropriate action our system application is designed. Input will be taken by the user from the graphical user interface. The major attributes such as name, address, and email-Id, mobile no, other personal related values will give input to the dataset. The User/Customer's Order, Bill, Feedback and Recommendation will provide the output. For the initial implementation of the system, we have considered 2 restaurants and 2 mess services in 5 areas. Khairunnisa proposed a project that presented an in-depth technical operation of the Wireless Ordering System (WOS) that included systems architecture, their function, various limitations and possible recommendations [3]. Our research project aims to design and develop a fully automated wireless food ordering system facility for the customers ordering food from a restaurant.

In the ever-developing field of food delivery services, the " Cross-Platform Application for Food Delivery Services " prototype project brings great solutions to close this gap. The project aims to create a comprehensive and user-friendly platform that perfectly meets the needs and demands of today's customers. With the proliferation of smartphones and the transition to online services and applications, food delivery has become an important part of almost everyone's life, that is, their daily life. However, existing applications often fall short of providing a real and personalized experience, leaving users with varying needs and priorities. The current problem is that existing food delivery applications have limitations or some shortcomings; This is because these apps lack important features like loyalty services, diet filtering for special meals, personalized recommendations and pre-orders or bulk orders. Users are faced with a fragmented experience that does not meet their personal preferences, nutritional needs and other needs. Our prototype aims to define the food app service concept by offering a cross-platform application with missing features. Loyalty services encourage user retention, purchases and reward user loyalty, custom filters help with dietary restrictions, personalized recommendations enhance user experience knowledge, and pre-ordering or multi-ordering streamlines or clarifies restaurant operations and services. The solution is designed to create a comprehensive, user-oriented and technological platform that defines the new online food business model for convenience and people's satisfaction of use. The " Cross-Platform Application for Food Delivery Services " model not only solves the current problems of food delivery services, but also leads to forward-looking innovation in this field. It promises seamless, personalized and visual delivery of perfect food. This project represents a significant step towards improving the user experience and opens the door to further growth in food service.

Food Feast is an Android (Android Google API 1.5 or higher) based Mobile Food Ordering Application. Food Feast is a process of ordering food from the food court through an FF application. This application allow customers to keep accounts with the food court in order to make frequent ordering convenient. Food Feast consists of four modulus, they are Login module: it is used to set the customer details [12] , Items Display module: it is used to display the number of items to the customer, Order Tracking module: it is used to track the food using GPS [24] , Feedback module: it is used to improve the service and know the satisfaction level using Digital Signature [4]. The Rapid growth of wireless technology and Mobile devices Creates great impact onpeoplès lives. A quality of service has to be improved such as order the food using mobile phone and delivery it to the customer [11]. This application may increases the services and customer satisfaction. This system is efficient and reliable when compared to the food delivery on call system [1] in such a way that it help customer in making order easily, to give detail information needed by customer, to help food court in receiving order, and to help courier while doing delivery.

With the upgrading of information industry and the development of Internet, different kinds of network applications are available to thousands of families. E-commerce, which is a new consumption mode based on Internet, emerges and spreads rapidly. Nowadays, people are care about food safety and convenience, and are so busy that the best choice for having meal is home delivery. Therefore, design a restaurant online meal ordering system is significantly important for people. This paper focuses on the design and implement of the online meal ordering system.
