This project mainly focuses on the controlling of home appliances remotely when the user is away from the place. The system is SMS based and user uses wireless technology (GSM). The system uses GSM technology thus providing universally access to the system for automated appliance control.8051 Micro Controller is the core component of this project. The objective of this project is to investigate a cost-effective solution that will provide controlling of home appliances remotely. The motivation was to facilitate the users to automate their homes having universal access. The home appliances control system with an affordable cost was thought to be built that should be mobile providing remote access to the appliances. This work includes the study of GSM modem using sensors. GSM network operators have roaming facilities; user can often continue to use the mobile phones when they travel to other countries etc.

This paper proposes an economical implementation for IoT (Internet of Things) used for monitoring and controlling the home appliances via the Internet. The home automation system uses portable devices such as Smartphones, laptops as a user interface. They can communicate with home automation networks through the Internet. This project aims at controlling home appliances via Smartphone's using Wi-Fi as a communication protocol and an affordable and flexible home control system using a Raspberry pi as a server system. The user can move anywhere and can remotely control home appliances like lights, fan and door lock, through an easy application. The Raspberry pi which acts as the server will be interfaced with relay circuits that control the appliances running at home. The communication with the server allows the user to select the appropriate device. The server communicates with the corresponding relays. This automation system is very useful for people who have physically challenged. The other reason to develop this system is to save time and manpower along with maintaining security and convenience.
— The Internet of Things (IoT) is the interconnection of physical objects, devices, vehicles and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity that enables these objects to gather and exchange data. For example, in educational organizations, we require additional labor to do jobs such as turn on & off the lights, fans in the laboratories. In some cases, the students may forget to switch off the electrical components like fans, AC and lights in their classrooms. As we take the institution as our scenario, there comes the need of more labors to complete the tasks. And there occurs the wastage of power supply and additional labor cost. To overcome these problems, we are automating the whole system through IoT system. This system can save the energy by efficient power management system of a room which employs certain mechanisms managed by a Microcontroller. This system serves us to control the environment, power and the security management. To provide a better security, the user is provided with live stream from several IP cameras. This paper helps the user to control the system from anywhere at any time from a single terminal through the internet which can be done at a reasonable cost.

The Internet of Things deals with bringing control of devices over Internet. The Internet of Things is the network of physical devices, vehicles, buildings, software, sensors, actuators and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and exchange data. For example, any physical object can be transformed into an IOT device if it can be controlled or communicate information. Industrial automation is the use of control systems such as computers or robots for handling the different processes and machineries in an industry to replace a human being. Industrial automation fulfills the aim of the company by allowing the company to run a manufacturing plant for 24 hours a day this leads to significant improvement in the productivity of the company. Robots can be programmed to do any task. This makes the manufacturing process more flexible. This proposed system connecting the industry machine with the mobile application for the industry automation. Being at one place user will get access over all the machineries in the industry. It makes the whole system automated. In this Project proposed efficient industry automation system that allows user to control the industry appliances over the internet and also user can monitor the temperature level, gauge level and humidity level through the mobile application. If there is any fire in the industry user will get the fire alert through the mobile application. Industry Automation reduces the manwork in industry.
Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly increasing technology. IoT is the network of physical objects or things embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data. In this paper, we are developing a system which will automatically monitor the industrial applications and generate Alerts/Alarms or take intelligent decisions using concept of IoT[9][10][11]. IoT has given us a promising way to build powerful industrial systems and applications by using wireless devices, Android, and sensors. A main contribution of this review paper is that it summarizes uses of IoT in industries with Artificial Intelligence to monitor and control the Industry.
Nowadays, the smart home technology is becoming popular in environment. Among these, the home appliances control using IoT is the most updated technology. Home appliances, such as light on and off, fan on and off and also air-con etc, can be turned on and off over mobile phones through internet. This system is explaining how to control designed circuit of two bulbs wirelessly but according to ones need one can connect any device (sensors, appliance etc, upto 8) to NodeMCU and can gain wireless control over it, with the help of this system, one can implement circuit and connect it with NodeMCU, program it accordingly with the help of Arduino and control device with the help of a Smartphone.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the next advance worldwide wireless technology, in which simple jobs are automated and manpower is reduced. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected devices that are integrated with software, sensors, and actuators. Data can be transferred between the devices and they can also converse with one another over a network connection. The usage of this technology has been implemented in our labs to make the appliances more convenient and automatic. We know, different systems are available for automation. An internet-based smart laboratory and laboratory machineries automation, cloud storage data collection and monitoring system is proposed in this research, which may be utilized to effectively control machineries, online live data streaming and monitor mechanical work appliances. Lab automation is completely new & numerous benefits are offered. Its ability to ensure security while also making research much easier is one of the main reasons for this growth. A variety of sensors, including temperature and humidity sensors, light and motion sensors, and others, will be interfaced with the help of IoT in the whole system. This project also includes automation of an industry where multiple devices can be connected with the robot and monitor the industrial process control. The innovation can be great content for modern automation being done regarding IoT. An Android phone/Laptop/pc can control the robot wirelessly wherever we are in world. The IoT microcontroller devices are connected with the robot to collect sensors data, control the robot wirelessly in the lab environment and control the machineries and lab appliances within a short time with the help of internet connection. We can get every sensors data and parameters from the google cloud storage platform Blynk and control every types of appliances and machines. Using IoT based Artificial Intelligence assisted camera will provide us the live streaming video of the laboratories with certain IP address and we can monitor the laboratory by using this robot. To increase the performance and accuracy of the sensors of this robot we have used online based IoT analytics live data monitoring website “Thingspeak”. we get the actual real time data of different sensors and make analysis of long days data. Here, we have used Temperature and Humidity sensor called DHT11 Mechanical models were developed and tested for accuracy of the robot. The Arduino IDE (1.8.16) application software was used to upload the robot's code to the IoT microcontroller.
