When it comes to automation and smart homes, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a crucial idea in today's world. It has to do with the automation of things through computing, in which all things and physical devices can be connected in order to make them sentient and programmable so that they can interact with humans. IoT is a cloud computing network that allows users to access physical objects or control equipment over a wireless network from any distance, at any time and in any location. One example of IoT technology is smart home automation. The usage of IoT in smart home automation was completely adopted in the twenty-first century, according to this study, by guaranteeing that household appliances and equipment were connected. This sort of IoT design not only controls devices, but also stores sensor data in the cloud and acts on it. The cloud is used to deliver sensor data via Wi-Fi module, and then a decision tree is applied to determine the output of the electronic devices. IoT-based services help to improve the domestic environment and are utilised for a variety of purposes. IoT applications based on home automation are flexible and widely used. This provides access to specific data in the house as well as the ability to control various parameters remotely. This article details the entire architecture of a smart home automation system based on IoT sensing and monitoring. The suggested smart home automation system prototype is constructed and tested on hardware in this project, allowing the user to control a limited number of household appliances using the bylnk application. The NodeMCU (ESP8266) microcontroller is used, and communication between the microcontroller and the application is done using Wi-Fi (Internet).
—The project proposes an efficient implementation for IoT (Internet of Things) used for monitoring and controlling the home appliances via World Wide Web. Home automation system uses the portable devices as a user interface. They can communicate with home automation network through an Internet gateway, by means of low power communication protocols like Zigbee, Wi-Fi etc. This project aims at controlling home appliances via Smartphone using Wi-Fi as communication protocol and raspberry pi as server system. The user here will move directly with the system through a web-based interface over the web, whereas home appliances like lights, fan and door lock are remotely controlled through easy website. An extra feature that enhances the facet of protection from fireplace accidents is its capability of sleuthing the smoke in order that within the event of any fireplace, associates an alerting message and an image is sent to Smartphone. The server will be interfaced with relay hardware circuits that control the appliances running at home. The communication with server allows the user to select the appropriate device. The communication with server permits the user to pick out the acceptable device. The server communicates with the corresponding relays. If the web affiliation is down or the server isn't up, the embedded system board still will manage and operate the appliances domestically. By this we provide a climbable and price effective Home Automation system.
The "IOT based Interactive Controlling and Monitoring System for home automation" is another technological headway which can control and screen gadgets nor just for home automation yet any genuine apparatuses remotely. Any automation venture utilizing inserted system like PIC Microcontroller gives an astute, low cost, energy protecting system for homes, schools, healing facilities .The primary goal of this paper is to plan and give execution points of interest of IOT for home and also for any genuine applications to consequently switch on/off lights, fans, gas, shades, doors utilizing sensors, which is equipped for controlling and mechanizing the greater part of the genuine living. In general, we know that we are using a number of appliances at homes, theatres, shopping malls, Convention Halls, Hotels that appliances we are connecting directly to the power and consumes a power. Due to this, some appliances failure due to over voltage. Here, we are using some components to control from overflow voltage. In this model we use micro controller (ATMEGA328P), is connected to the nodemcu, 4-channel relay board and liquid crystal display (LCD). Here the input is given to the micro controller through the LCD to display temperature. The output of this signal is given to the micro controller which in which a pin becomes active when any obstacle is finding the room temperature. 4-channel relay board is connected to control the large appliances, meanwhile we are connecting switches to operate and nodemcu(Wi-Fi module) to control with remote access.

In recent times, automation has found relevance in everything that involves control systems and information technology in order to regulate equipment, industrial machinery and processes; thereby minimizing the need for human involvement. This paper presents an IOTbased home automation system. It entails the implementation of a prototype home automation system which utilizes ESP8266 Wi-Fi module for Wi-Fi and also acts as the microcontroller, and uses a 4G router as a source for internet. An electronic circuit was designed using capacitor, resistors, voltage regulator, Wi-Fi module and LM35 sensor for the temperature control, and an android application was developed using JAVA script. Result obtained from test carried out with both 13A and 15A sockets indicated that the controller circuit attained efficient switching of the connected equipment.

This paper presents a design of home automation system using IoT that is capable of controlling and monitoring most of traditional Malay house appliances using an easily manageable application. The proposed system is highly flexible as it uses Wi-Fi technology to interconnect between the controlled board & Wi-Fi module. This system uses 4-loads to control house appliances, and has user-friendly interface that allows user to easily control the Malay house appliances through the internet. The proposed system consists of NodeMCU (Node Microcontroller Unit) and powered by 5V Adaptor/Charger (Micro-type). The NodeMCU, is connected to a relay unit to operate electrical appliances over the internet. Meanwhile, the loads are controlled by relays. After the user sends commands over the internet, the NodeMCU processes the instructions to operate the loads accordingly, and displays the system status on a smartphone display. Thus, this system allows for efficient home automation over the internet.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the most recent technology platform. We may regulate our daily routine work, such as home applications, control, and simple communication systems, using IOT, and improve our digital services. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system that intelligently adds everyday content information to the internet in order to facilitate communication between objects and humans, as well as among themselves. In this study, we demonstrate how IoT can improve home automation. The relay, Node MCU, which is a network access component, is used in our suggested system. We can control that equipment using an IoT-based system technique. Mobile phones, computers, and tablets are used as user interfaces in home automation systems. They can connect to the home automation network through a wireless internet connection. The user will interact with the system directly via the control interface, while home appliances will be controlled remotely via a mobile app. An additional aspect of the home automation system is that it may be protected remotely. This redesigned design concept provided a home automation system that could be controlled efficiently.
