The Common Digital Space of Scientific Knowledge (CDSSK), in its modern interpretation, is a fundamentally new information environment that accumulates knowledge from various fields of science and is the basis for solving a wide range of problems: from artificial intelligence to the science popularization. One of the prototypes of the CDSSK model is the digital library "Scientific Heritage of Russia" (DL SHR), within which methods and means of integrating heterogeneous digital information (including archival and museum information) related to Russian scientific achievements are being developed. This article suggests that the ideas and practices em-fundamental importance in the development of what we braced by the term ''documentation,'' introduced by Paul now call information science. A digital library, together with its users and its contents, does not exist in isolated splendour; nor in hypertext terms is it merely the intertextual relationships between its texts. There is a cycle of activities which provides the context for the library's existence, and which the library supports through its various roles of information access, discovery, storage, dissemination and preservation. This paper describes the role of digital library systems in the undertaking of science, and in particular in the context of the recent developments of the Grid for computer-supported scientific collaboration and Virtual Universities for computersupported education. This paper focuses on a specific framework, the Dynamic Review Journal, which supports the development and dissemination of documents by assisting authors in collating and analysing experimental results, organising internal project discussions, and producing papers. By bridging the gap between the undertaking of experimental work and the dissemination of its results through electronic publication, this work addresses the cycle of activity in which a digital library rests.

My present work focuses on the new relationship generated by electronic information between the virtual archive (the Web in a broad sense, certain specialized archives in particular) and its referent (material reality in general, museums, inter-art practices, and artworks in particular). What Nam June Paik conceived as a shift from the telecommunications network to a "multilevel digital communication network," is now taking place at a highly accelerated pace; with vast unexpected consequences and possibilities for the artistic field. Moreover, it also has a close relationship to what Manuel Castells defined as the "space of flows" or "real virtuality." 2 "The space of flows" is the abstraction of time and space and their dynamic interactions within digital age society. Castells developed this idea to "re-conceptualize new forms of spatial arrangements under the new technological paradigm"; a new type of space that allows for distant, synchronous, real-time interaction.

Este trabajo analiza su significa-do desde el punto de vista del acceso a los objetos digitales, combinando aspectos relacionados con la lingüística, la desambigüación terminológica en la re-cuperación de información y la categorización de tex-tos. Considering an epistemological perspective of analysis, a historical-conceptual study of document in Information Science (IS) was proposed to retrace theoretical aspects based on the subjects of History, Diplomacy and Documentation. For that, we guided ourselves on the presuppositions of the history of concepts which allowed us to study synchronic and diachronic aspects of concept by establishing tradition and innovation as anti-ethical categories of analysis. Finally, we tried to show the categorical character of document in the theoretical frame of IS.
