The whole of the education system has gone through tremendous changes in the 21st century with the initiation of information and communication technology. ICT is seen as a significant tool for educational reforms and changes, as it has the capacity to change the existing paradigm in the present educational scenario. There isn't a single aspect in education that hasn't been touched by the digital revolution. The use of numerous ICT tools such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, among others, has a significant impact on how students and teachers communicate, learn and socialize. Thus, ICT has a tendency to increase educational enrolment and educational access. Learning may take place at any time and in any location regardless of the geographical boundaries. ICT technologies are currently utilized by many types of individuals, particularly the student population, to build relationships, connect with the world, exchange and receive knowledge and information, participate in group discussions from near and far destinations, develop stronger personalities, and improve social life. As a result, ICT provides a platform for the students to interact and work with one another in collaborative settings. Thus, the usage of ICT tools has brought about a paradigm shift in the process of education. Despite the fact that technology delivers several benefits to the student community, it diverts students' attention, which could have major effects on the students' professional lives. This paper tends to highlight the influence of using ICT tools in futuristic classrooms, communication and academic life of students and teachers. ICT Literacy among the Students of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Mostar

Questions about the level of ICT literacy among students are rarely raised due to the common believe that new generations of students are internet-savvy and technology-savvy since they grew up in a world saturated by ICTs. These basic competencies should not be taken for granted since they affect abilities of new generations to participate in different domains in the e-society. Therefore, data is needed about the real level of ICT's within student populations, and variables these competencies depend upon. The aim of this study was to determine the level of ICT literacy. It was conducted among 807 students from different study groups (undergraduate and graduate level). The used questionnaire consists of two parts. The first part is related to students' personal characteristics, and the second part consists of a test (we used 15 questions to determine level of their ICT literacy). ICT literacy test questions were analyzed via frequencies and percentage according to the accuracy of the response. The results were presented on the interval scale, treating the responses from the test as a simple linear combination of accurate responses. The percentage of the accurate responses range from 24.56% to 99.01%. The average percentage of the accurate responses among the students is 62.85%, whereas of the inaccurate responses is 36.59%. We determined the connection of the questioned level of the ICT literacy with some characteristics of the sample and the students' habits of using the computer, as well as self-evaluation of their own ICT literacy.

Technological developments that occurred in the late twentieth century and early twenty-first century, increased the use of technology in almost every aspect of human life and also its importance. The evolution of technology has meant that today anyone can use it at any time: everyone can have access to the Internet for different purposes. This thesis will focus on learning technology in higher education in Albania and specifically will use a survey on the use of technology by students of the Faculty of Economy during their studies. The main purpose of this work is to examine how much support there is and how students use technology in their learning process. The task has three main objectives: • To determine the attitudes and the degree of acceptance of technological change from students of faculty • To determine the extent of use of technologies during their studies, analyzing the types of technology frequently used by. • To determine how e-learning is recognized and how necessary is its usage by students's perspective. The methodology used is a qualitative analysis conducted through the distribution of questionnaires to students of faculty, as the main stakeholders of this research. Finally, from the analysis conducted it is concluded that students prefer technology; the most used technology is the laptop, less used is Instant Messaging and recognition of the concept of e-learning is at the average level, but still seen as a possibility to have a better study. The growth of the Internet in the world provides many opportunities to many people around the world in many different ways. When students are considered, the use of the Internet is mainly for social and entertainment purposes. However, it is very obvious that the Internet provides not only social connection and entertainment, but also academic and scientific information as well. Additionally, the Internet can be used as a tool to learn the latest news all around the world as well as getting any kind of information that serves different purposes such as learning more information about a hobby or health. Therefore, it can be said that the Internet is the source of spreading information quickly to a large audience and of going beyond the limitation of time and space. In the light of the above information, it is vitally important to encourage students to use this invaluable source to get any kind of information they need in their academic studies. For the reasons mentioned above, the aim of this study is look at the students' use of Internet in their academic studies. The participants are around 150 English Preparatory School students in Eastern Mediterranean University. These students have come from different countries in order to study at various departments in the university. The study is carried out in the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2010-2011.
