Hapty is an interactive animation tool designed to bridge the gap between physical and digital creative practices by embodying the qualities of skilled hand practice. It employs innovative interaction devices, such as haptic feedback and 3D mice, to enhance user experience and facilitate intuitive animation processes akin to traditional stop-motion techniques. This design-led research aims to not only preserve tacit knowledge associated with physical animation methods but also adapt them within a digital context, thus evolving traditional craftsmanship in an increasingly digital world.
