On-line examination system of security application

Online examination system is an information and communication solution to the paper-based examination system. It is resourceful, time-saving and efficient. The system is designed to enhance the examination process in schools and is capable of conducting any type of examination questions such as multiple-choice questions or theory-based question format. In this paper, we developed a system that provides an equitable level of security and veracity on the conduct of the examination. The aim of this application is to meet students requirements where they are expected to take their examination online through internet or intranet. The system was developed using Hypertext Preprocessor, Hypertext Markup Languages, Cascading Style Sheet, Javascript and My Structured Query Language as the database backend which are used in web-based applications. Thiese guarantee that the application is cheap, robust, and is able to run on multiple platforms. The application can be enhanced using integrated biometric systems such as fingerprint or face to improve its effectiveness and security.

Online examinations are an important method of evaluating the success potential of students. This research effort the individuals under consideration were students who would be enrolling in computer courses or Technologies Registrations. A prototype of a web-based placement examination system is described from the standpoint of the research effort, end user, and software development. An on-line educational system including exam processing and electronic journal features. An instructor builds a course based questions which on-line contain in identification of assignments. Which are compiled into an on-line exam syllabus? Users enrolled in the platform may access the electronic details they provided and perform various functions with the on-line educational system in order to participate in the on-line examinations. Users can receive an on-line exam, having multimedia content, for the course, and they can electronically provide answers for the exam. And after Completion of their duration of exam they are provided the grade or marks secured in their examinations. I.

ABSTRACT This study was carried out on the design and implementation of post utme online examination system, a case study of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba - Akoko, Ondo State. Online Examination System is a system based on carrying out test and examination, which were carried out manually with the aid of computer and internet technology Mustakerov & Borissova (2011). The project work support and implement the three structural layers proposed by Aimin & Jipeng (2009), the three layers were the administrator, Student and instructor, also the architecture of Jin & Ma (2008) which focus on this layers were adopted in the development. Furthermore, Wilson (2004) investigated the extent the feedback process affects the student performance by comparing with the students who receive classical face-to-face education. The author emphasized that student feedbacks may render evaluation process more efficient. The current study is inline with Wilson (2004) and also with the view of Crisp & Ward (2008), on the other hand, that getting feedbacks in the systems with too many students can only be achieved with the aid of online systems. And lastly, in their study, Shen et al. (2001) emphasized the importance of adjustment and update processes based on student feedbacks for proper execution of online examination. The current research makes use of this trend in the integration of feedback system in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba - Akoko online examination system. In addition, there are other potentially problematic issues to consider. There are consistent situational or environmental characteristics of situations where students cheat (Leming, 1979; Maramark & Maline, 1993). Most cheaters recognize that cheating is wrong, but believe that they are in special circumstances that make it right for them to cheat (Sykes & Matza, 1957). The second of the problems concerns enrolment. No matter how securely the system is designed, if the correct person is not enrolled, the use of biometrics does not help (Ashbourn, 1999; Boves & Koolwaaij, 1998; Schneier, 1999). Although these disadvantages should not discourage developers from creating online support, they should be considered during planning and designing stages (Aimin & Jipeng 2009) this serve as a motivation for the current project. Primary contribution of this study is the proposed online examination system having an integrated and flexible structure. The system manages a number of functions such as collection of feedbacks from students, generating reports and submitting them to the managers and providing proposals in the decision-making processes by help of analysis within a single module as distinct from the other studies found in the literature.

This paper describes my first research experience in the Online examination system in this COVID-19 Pandemic. The method in this research used a descriptive research design using a survey study approach on how to secure the online examination system. The implementation of a secured online examination in the new normal era is important to continue to prevent transmission of COVID-19. The conclusion of this study is the score of the lackings of an online examination system needs to be improved in the new normal era.

Examination Department is one of the core parts of any higher educational organizations which provides essential service to the students and academic staff members of the organizations such as providing semester exam applications, scanned certified copy of certificates & transcript of students, and time table, result updates whenever they need and wherever they are, etc. The existing methods have many drawbacks such as time-consuming, onsite working staff service, can't provide immediate service to the students, and much more since the majority of the works are done by using MS Excel, MS words, and onsite work force. Any online system can be developed such as a web application or mobile application to overcome these issues through easy user interfaces via the internet connection using various web and mobile technologies such as web programming, database technologies, scripting languages, and user interface designing tools. Furthermore, an online system can be designed to assist both department's works, and administrative tasks from anywhere and anytime like a virtual office; which can help incorporate staff and students via real-time chat to reduce crowed inside office and swift update to the registered students and staff through the system's SMS service. System security can be increased with the help of user authentication using encryption methods.

Today there are two forms of examination: Online Examination (M-learning) and Offline Examination. Mobile learning, or "M-learning", offers modern ways to support learning process through mobile devices such as tablet, computers and smart phones. Mobile learning can be used to enhance the overall learning experiences of students and teachers. However, enforcing exam security in open environments where every student has his/her own tablet or mobile devices connected to a Wi-Fi network can be one of the most challenging tasks. The existing system was not based on Service oriented architecture and was using a bulk of PHP code which had been a bit slow and cannot address the exam security issues that exist in m-learning environment. The proposed system aims to recognize various vulnerabilities that may violate assessment safety in M-learning setting and to deal the security and countermeasures that can be put in to make sure exam safety by using a QR code generated for every student. It also aims to integrate the resultant secure exam system with an obtainable, open source and widely conventional Learning Management System (LMS). Further we are using NPL for verifying the answers which has reduced the overall efforts of human beings. The backend of this project would be in My SQL. The front end would be in JAVA and Android which has improved the performance.

Online examination system is a web-based examination system where examination is taken online i.e. through the internet or intranet using computer system. It is an effective solution for mass education evaluation. We have developed an online examination system based on a Browser/Server framework using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 for the design, C# 3.5 for coding, and Microsoft SQL Server as database. ASP.NET is the preferred web technology. The system carries out the examination and auto-grading for multiple choice questions which is feed into the system.

This research paper presents the design and development of an advanced online examination portal integrating AI-driven motion and object detection to strengthen exam security and uphold assessment integrity in remote settings. With the rapid shift toward online education, traditional proctoring methods-such as live invigilation and basic screen monitoring-often prove inadequate in preventing dishonest behaviors and are resource-intensive, requiring significant human oversight. The proposed system leverages motion detection to monitor candidate movements, identifying unusual behaviors such as leaving the camera frame, frequent gaze shifts, or excessive head movement that may indicate cheating attempts. Simultaneously, object detection technology is employed to recognize unauthorized items in the candidate's environment, such as mobile devices, notes, or secondary screens, flagging potential infractions in real-time. The system's architecture is designed to be scalable, adaptable, and user-friendly, making it suitable for diverse institutions conducting online assessments at scale. The portal includes a secure interface for candidates, robust back-end AI modules, and a real-time alert and reporting system that reduces reliance on human proctors while ensuring accurate, unbiased monitoring. Experimental trials demonstrate the system's effectiveness, accuracy, and reliability in detecting unauthorized behaviors and objects, highlighting its potential to provide a fair, privacy-compliant solution for remote examinations. By automating the proctoring process through advanced AI technology, this research addresses the limitations of traditional proctoring and contributes a viable framework for institutions seeking scalable and secure solutions for remote exams.

—Online examination is one of the crucial parts for online education. It is efficient and fast enough and reduces the large amount of material resource. An examination system is designed and developed based on web. This paper describes the principle of the system, presents the main functions of the system, analyses the algorithm of auto-generating test paper, and discusses the security of the system.

The study is an online, computer aided tool that was designed primarily for the conduct of online examination. The system was created using PHP, a web based scripting language, and MySQL as the database software. The system focuses on the automation of students' examinations; preparation, scheduling, checking and grading. A database is provided for the storage of exam questions, answers to questions and students' records. The system allows instructors to create an exam by entering questions with its corresponding answers into the database. Instructors are provided with three options on the type of exam; these include, True or False, Multiple Choice and Fill in the Blanks.
