Abstract

Sustainability cannot be viewed separately from the social conditions under which sustainable development can take place. These conditions are essentially characterized by the structures of a global capitalist market economy, which not only determine the economic prerequisites for sustainability and have diverse social and political repercussions, but also the cultural forms of life that shape everyday practices and individual living conditions.
