Abstract
This paper proposes a low-cost flexible and reliable home automation system with additional security using Arduino microcontroller with connectivity through local Wi-Fi for accessing and controlling devices by authorized user remotely using Smart phone application. The proposed system is server independent and uses Internet of things to control human desired appliances starting from industrial machine to consumer goods. The user can also use different devices for controlling by the help of application on smart phone. To demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of this system, this paper proposes a home automation system using Arduino UNO microcontroller and NODE MCU(EPS8266) as a WIFI module. It helps the user to control various appliances such as light, fan, LCD, door and can take decision based on the data provided by sensors remotely.

The project presents a low cost and flexible home control and monitoring system using an embedded microprocessor and microcontroller, with IP connectivity for accessing and controlling devices and appliances remotely using Smart phone application. The proposed system does not require a dedicated server PC with respect to similar systems and offers a novel communication protocol to monitor and control the home environment with more than just the switching functionality. To demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of this system, devices such as light switches, power plug, temperature sensor and current sensor can be integrated with the home control system.

The focus of this paper is to develop a system which will allow user to control connected home appliances remotely using an android app. This project is focused on saving human and electric energy. This system consists an android app and Node Mcu. Home appliances are connected with Node Mcu using relays, which is connected to Wi-Fi. By using this System, user can control connected home appliances from anywhere using internet connection.

Many people today prefer smart devices which can be controlled remotely by the Internet rather than the manual control to improve the standard of living. The home appliances are expected to fully automatic and Internets of Things (IoT) is projected to provide dramatic improvements in smart home appliances. The internet technology is growing day by day and the internet connection is accessible everywhere in the world. The IoT is going to rule the world within a few years. This paper presents an Internet of Things based real-time home automation and security system using Arduino UNO and ESP8266 WiFi module which makes the system cost-effective and portable. It is used for controlling and monitoring home appliances (Fans, Lights, etc.) from anywhere in the globe using MQTT server. The home automation system includes an integrated temperature and humidity sensor module to control the air conditioning unit. The human motion detection is achieved by the PIR sensor for security purpose.
The Smart home security and Automation focus mainly on controlling electrical appliances using internet. Recently many network enabled digital technologies came into existence in the field of home automation. This paper mainly deals with the controlling of home appliances and its devices using Raspberry pi as a main device. Android devices would control the home appliances using the internet and raspberry pi as a server system. Raspberry pi controls the relay circuit and relay control the home appliances. The wireless device communicates with the home automation network through internet. This system doesn't need a dedicated pc like other respective systems. So it can be accessed easily by the user.

The proposed Smart Home Automation is an application of Internet of Things (IoT). The developed system has features like controlling the appliances and intrusion detection. Controlling can be done through the App as well as manually. The system also helps in monitoring humidity and room temperature. The home automation becomes important because it gives the user the comfort and ease for using the home appliances. The implementation and design of wireless home automation control uses MQTT protocol technology. This project presents the overall design of a Home Automation System (HAS) with a low-cost wireless system. It specifically focuses on the development of an IOT based home automation system that is able to control various components via the internet or be automatically programmed to operate from ambient conditions. In this project, we design the development of firmware for smart control which can successfully be automated minimizing human interaction to preserve the integrity of whole electrical devices in the home. We used Node MCU, a popular open-source IOT platform, to execute the process of automation. Different components of the system will use different transmission modes that will be implemented to communicate the control of the devices by the user through Node MCU to the actual appliance. The main control system implements wireless technology to provide remote access from smartphones. We are using a cloud server-based communication that would add to the practicality of the project by enabling unrestricted access of the appliances to the user irrespective of the distance factor. We provided a data transmission network to create stronger automation. The system is intended to control electrical appliances and devices in a house with a relatively low-cost design, user-friendly interface, and ease of installation. The status of the appliance would be available, along with the control on an android platform. This system is designed to assist and provide support in order to 1fulfil the needs of the elderly and disabled in the home. Also, the smart home concept in the system improves the standard of living at home.
With the help of Arduino Uno microcontroller the design and execution concepts for a wireless real-time home automation system is presenting in this paper. Most widely there are two operational modes. The first one is denoted as a manually-automated mode here the user using the cellular phone through Wi-Fi communication technology can monitor and control the home appliances from anywhere over the world. Another mode familiar as a self-automated mode which are portable for monitoring and controlling home appliances based on related sensors .The main theme of internet of things is to control electrical appliances and also for security purpose. The Internet of things (IoT) is getting more tractions in recent years. One of the usage scenario of IoT is smart home. Smart home basically provides home automation for installed devices at home such as thermostat, lighting, air conditioning, etc and allows devices connected to the Internet to be monitored and controlled remotely by user. However many studies on smart home concept focusing only on few main features. They still lack of important usage of IoT i.e. providing energy efficiency, energy monitoring, dealing with security, and managing privacy. This paper proposes a smart home system with RaspberryPi and NodeMCU as the backend that not only serves as home automation and merely a switch replacement, but to also record and report important things to the owner of the house e.g. when someone trespasses the house (security perimeter), or to report the calculation of how much money has been spent in consuming the electrical appliances. We successfully examine our proposed system in a real life working scenario. The communication between user and the system is done using Telegram Bot.
