Smart Pill Box Health Care System

Our project's main aim is to make a Smart medicine box for those users who regularly take medicines and the prescription of their medicine is very long as it is hard to remember to patients and also for their care giver. Also Old age patients suffer from problems of forget to take pills on proper time which causes certain health issues for patients having Permanent diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, breathing problem, heart problems, cancer diseases etc. We saw these problems in hospitals & people around us who have such kind of diseases and thus based on these two problems we made smart medicine box which solve these problems by Setting up time table of prescribed medicines through push buttons as given in prescription. Present time will be saved in RTC module and notification time will be saved in EEPROM. Therefore at the time of taking medicine system generate Notification sound and display the Bright light in certain pill boxes. So, patient can know the specific number of box from which he has to take out medicines. All pill boxes are pre-loaded in the system which patient needs to take at given time. And our system has quality that it can sense if the patient had taken out pills from the box or not. Another advantage of our system includes of Sensing capability if the patient tries to postpone the time of taking medicine by suddenly opening and closing the medicine boxes to stop the sound. Compare to other devices available in market are capable to generate sound at one time and afterwards it stops. Thus, final result of our system provides fast curing of patient health by using our advantageous system.

In general, forgetting to take medicines at prescribed time is common amongst most of the patients. There are certain cases when patients remember to take medicines at the prescribed time but forget which pill has to be taken at that particular time. In order to avoid these problems, smart medicine box can be used. The device has five switches through which user can set an alarm. The data gets stored in the EEPROM by the microcontroller. As the stored time of the EEPROM matches the time of the RTC, the system alerts the buzzer and displays a message on the LCD. Simultaneously, LED also starts blinking indicating the box from which medicine has to be taken. Thus, the patient can listen to the audio; look on the LCD and blinking LED to take medicine on time. Apart from the audio and display, it also features a GSM module attached to it. The GSM module sends a text message to the doctor if the medicines are not taken on time. Our smart medicine box also provides an additional feature of panic button. As the panic button is pressed for few seconds it immediately sends an alert message to the doctor signifying that the patient is in trouble.

In our families, many of our older relatives have diseases they all need to take multiple medicines a day with different timings and check their multiple health parameters multiple times in one month. They also missed medications during their multiple visits, and they all need to go to the hospital every time for a basic health checkup. And I see this problem, and if I look into it, I will discover that it is not limited to my situation it is present everywhere. This inspires us to begin work on the development of a smart medicine box. In this device, we will set reminders for medicines with the help of an Android application and IoT for those who forget to take medicine. Also, the device is used to check basic health parameters like pulse rate, blood pressure, the ECG of the body, and many other parameters that require checking multiple times.

In this generation, the possibility of developing a health problem has increased. Environmental changes cause many elderlies, young people, men, and women to become ill. They also tend to forget to take their prescribed prescription since they are preoccupied with school, and work, and elderly individuals, tend to forget, especially those suffering from mental illnesses such as dementia, which is frequent in the elderly. Also, because some patients are unaware of the differences between medicines, this smart medication box is created to make it easy for patients to take their prescription on time and schedule, ensuring that they do not miss a single dose. Because even missing a single dose can have a significant impact. The IoT (Internet of Things) tools are being used to create the smart medicine box. Arduino, GSM module, buzzer, and other relevant IoT tools are among the various types of IoT tools used to finish this project. In addition, if the patient fails to take their medicine, the GSM module sends an SMS message to the registered number. The message is only sent if the buzzer is not heard more than three times. The nurse or caretaker can also use this smart medicine box to ensure that the patient's medicine is taken.

The consumption of prescribed medicine on time has become the most important requirement in day-to-day busy life. The adherence to the schedules of medicine dosage becomes critical with the problem or disease, which is being treated. Therefore, the importance of it varies from person to person. To overcome the problems of the adherence to medicine dosages, many products and designs of medicine dispenser have been proposed. In this paper, the prototype of Portable Smart Medicine Dispenser has been discussed, which overcomes the problems of many of the existing designs and provides the improved characteristics in it. Android has been used as the GUI for the system and NodeMCU ESP8266, a microcontroller with inbuilt Wi-Fi module, has been used. The Xcluma 28Ybj-48 Stepper motor is used to rotate the container of medicine. The history has also been setup, which shows the list of alarms, which have been successfully alerted and container is rotated. The medicine, if not taken within a specified time, the alert is sent to the caretaker in the form of notification of the Android App. Another improvement in this design is that the Firebase, which is a real-time and NOSQL database has been used, which helps in quick synchronization of the data from the Android app to Firebase and vice versa.

Using IOT no of pill in to box will be monitor by doctor or patient relative.

A new reminder system based on Internet of Things (IoT) has been created to aid individuals, particularly those suffering from dementia, who often neglect their health. The system includes an IoT device and an Android application, aiming to alleviate the burden of daily medication for patients. Through data analysis, the system detects when medication needs to be taken and sends timely notifications via the mobile application. This solution not only benefits dementia patients but also proves useful for others. By utilizing an IoT-enabled Arduino device and an infrared (IR) sensor, the system can monitor whether the patient has taken their medicine, ensuring proper healthcare management.

Medicine intake, as prescribed by physicians and health care providers, is important not only for minimizing the risk of relapse but also to treating conditions and improving one's overall well-being. However, adherence to a medication routine seems to be a problem for some people which is usually affected by a variety of factors such as hectic day-today activity schedules, poor prescription instruction, concurrent intake of multiple medications, and forgetfulness. Medication adherence has been then considered as one of the major medical problems globally. In such cases, a medical device that could alert and remind patients in taking their medicines on time will come in handy. Consequently, this study aimed to design and develop a pocket-sized electronic pillbox device using TFT LCD display, Arduino microcontroller, Piezo Buzzer (for sound notification), Eccentric Rotating Mass (for vibration notification), Lithium Ion battery as power source, and plastic organizer as the main body. The said pillbox device will act as a countermeasure for medication non-adherence particularly by patients under the case of polypharmacy. Thus, this study focused on the design and development of the prototype, hardware testing and system qualification only. Furthermore, this paper is part of a future study where the assessment and measure of device behavior and adherence will be conducted to compare whether the utilization of pillbox device has an impact to the people who are using it.

A pill box is a container used to organize your medication doses for a set period of time. If you need to take several different prescriptions, a pill box comes in quite handy. You won't have to worry about forgetting to take your prescription. The aim of our project is to create a smart pill box that will allow patients to take all their prescribed medication on time and minimize the chances of missing any dose. Due to the current fast-paced lifestyle, the tendency to forget has risen amongst the population. As a result, many people forget to take their medication. This issue will be rectified with our smart pill box.

To take the medicine at the age in time. The smart medication reminder is designed specially for users who take medicine without any help. It avoids to take wrong medicine at wrong time. It is also useful for blind people. The components required for designe of smart medication reminder are raspberry pi zero W (core type-ARM1176JZF-S) interface with LCD16x4, buzzer, led, alarm module (DS3231), multiple pill container and stepper motor. Firstly switch on the kit and the device get asked to set the time for alarm and similarly set for the next alarm putting the pill into pill box and it get close. As the user set the time for alarm the buzzer gives the sound and also blinking the led present in the pill box separately.
