Automatic Pill Dispenser Box with Time Alert

To take proper medicine at proper time is necessary to become a healthy but failure of that can create big trouble for a patient. This is specially for the elderly patient who had problem in keeping track of their medicine. So to overcome this we made this Smart Pill Box which keep tracks of the dosage and duration between each consumption.Untimed medicine administration can always show adverse effects on the health of the patients. Hence, this Smart Medicine Box will remind the patient to take right dosage of right medicine at the right time. The basic idea for this paper is integrating the principle of Alarm clock with Light based slot sensing on a normal pill box. To make it more state-of-the-art, it is inbuilt with a GSM module for alerting the patient and also the chemist at the needed instant.By using GSM , system also send SMS to the patient for the medicine reminder. Impact Factor value: 7.211 | ISO 9001:2008 Certified Journal | Page 927 consumes the right dosage of medication at the right time, provided he or she accepts this new, unusual method of medication.The goal of our paper is to provide healthy and tension free life to those users who are taking regularly pills and to provide this product at affordable cost also. Our paper is also reusable by exchanging those other medicine box that has only alerting system and are non-usable or unaffordable compare to our product. These simple efficient techniques are supported by advancements like GSM technology to bridge the gap in communication between the supplier or the chemist and the customer or patient, thus aiding the patient.

In today's life, human beings face difficulty, to keep in mind the medicine they are required to take. All subject face adheres to the prescribed medication plan, this is particularly tough for elder people. Yearly 1.5 million subjects are affected by preventable medication mistakes. Errors of medication often tied to diabetics increased over 300 percent. Also, complex medication can lead to problems such as taking medicine irregularly or taking unprescribed amounts, etc. these problems may lead to the hospital visit, illness, and even death. This project proposes a model of the medical remainder and automatic Pill's dispenser using Arduino UNO and IoT. This system can relieve unevenness in taking the recommended dosage of pills on time prescribed and especially for Geriatrics to take medicine in appropriate schedule. This system is more specific because normal pill dispenser stores pills in a container that may lead to a change in concentration of the pills due to interaction among tablets. Hence the proposed system helps to bring over the pills and store them in a packed form.

The recent growth in technologies was extended into the field of health care to ease the approach towards the medical diagnosis and treatment. After the treatment the medication at right time is essential for the disease to get cured. In general, the patients may forget to take their pills at right time, and some people missed to take the medicines at an appropriate time because of their busy work schedule. The proposed system facilitates such persons by providing an alert according to the dosage schedule and in addition to this dispense the correct medicine as per the prescription to the concerned person with disability. The proposed system consists of a smart medicine box that is designed to help elderly patients taking their medications on time. The main feature of the proposed model is the automatic opening of the box and alarm will be raised to alert the patient to take the medicine. Another distinct feature is a mobile application is associated with the system which gives the privilege to the caretaker of patients to check and program the medicine box as per the medical prescription of the doctor. If the person under care does not take medicine even after the medicine is being dispensed, the caretaker will be informed via the mobile application to remind the patients manually. When the medicine box becomes empty the system will inform the caretaker through message to the registered mobile number to refill the pill box for further usage. Apart from the medication to the patients at right time, the entire data related to the patient will be available in the cloud for the convenience of assessment of patient health condition at any time. Thus, the proposed system will aid the people to monitor their health with right medication.

— In this busy scheduled life, people usually tends to forget to take their medicine on time due to forgetfulness or memory loss due to aging. In rural India most of the people are unable to follow the physician's prescription, which causes over dosage or wrong dosage due to misunderstanding of physician's direction. It may cause negative consequences for patients. Sometimes it results to severe impact on their health. This paper presents the design and implementation of " A Novel Design of ARM based Automated Medication Dispenser " for those who take medications without continuous professional supervision. Automated dispensing systems are eHealth drug storage devices that electronically dispense medications in a controlled fashion and track medication use. Monitoring of medication has been given the highest priority. Automated pill dispenser can track the missed medications doses. It notifies the patients through buzzing an alarm, or throgh a phone call or flashing data on the server. Live data is updated in the server for each dose at the scheduled time with help of IoT. Sometimes even after the alarm, if the patients did not take any medicines then it will alert the care takers/ nursing staff through sending messages to server or making phone calls. Caretaker can acces the details anywhere using mHealth.

The consumption of prescribed medicine on time has become the most important requirement in day-to-day busy life. The adherence to the schedules of medicine dosage becomes critical with the problem or disease, which is being treated. Therefore, the importance of it varies from person to person. To overcome the problems of the adherence to medicine dosages, many products and designs of medicine dispenser have been proposed. In this paper, the prototype of Portable Smart Medicine Dispenser has been discussed, which overcomes the problems of many of the existing designs and provides the improved characteristics in it. Android has been used as the GUI for the system and NodeMCU ESP8266, a microcontroller with inbuilt Wi-Fi module, has been used. The Xcluma 28Ybj-48 Stepper motor is used to rotate the container of medicine. The history has also been setup, which shows the list of alarms, which have been successfully alerted and container is rotated. The medicine, if not taken within a specified time, the alert is sent to the caretaker in the form of notification of the Android App. Another improvement in this design is that the Firebase, which is a real-time and NOSQL database has been used, which helps in quick synchronization of the data from the Android app to Firebase and vice versa.

The fast paced life of people has always taken a toll on the people. The irony is that people around the world are being affected by diverse illness and technologies are also getting improved for solving these illnesses. Butthe thing is, the medicines should be taken at the right time in right count in order to cure any illness. Elderly people usually forget to take their pills and due to this, the chances of getting cured are decreased and medicines also get expired which in turn leads to poor health. The smart pill box alerts the patient by giving them notification to take the medicines in the correct time with the help of buzzers and LCD display.The new feature in this smart pill box is the availability of the automated alert system for sending the medicine refills notification to the chemist and caretakers in case of missed pills. An app is integrated with features like fall detection, location tracking and an emergency help call apart from pill remainder.

Many medical errors are due to the fact that people in charge of patient or elder's medication have to deal with sorting huge amounts of pills each day. This paper consists on the conception, design and creation of a pillbox prototype intended to solve this deficiency in the medical area as it has the ability of sorting out the pills by itself as well as many other advanced features, with this device being intended to be used by hospitals or retirement homes. This medication pill box is focused on patients who frequently take medications or vitamin supplements, or attendants who deal with the more seasoned or patients. Our smart pill box is programmable that enables medical caretakers or clients to determine the pill amount and timing to take pills, and the service times for every day. Our shrewd pills box contains nine separate sub-boxes. In this manner, medical caretakers or clients can set data for nine distinct pills. At the point when the pill time has been set, the pillbox will remind clients or patients to take pills utilizing sound and light. The warning of pills should be taken will be shown by an android application which is held by the patient. Contrasted and the conventional pill box that requires clients or attendants to stack the crate each day or consistently. Our shrewd pill box would essentially discharge medical attendants or clients' weight on much of the time preloading pills for patients or clients and overlook the measurements which must be taken.

This paperpresents an advanced medicine intake monitoring and control system. The proposed system consists on a smart medicine box that is designed to help patients taking their medications on time. Two main features are implemented during the design phase of this system: the first one is the safety feature that will alarm the patient in case of not taking and/or bad dosage taking for medication, will keep the medication out of reach of the children and will be used in case of failure of one of the system's components whereas the second feature is the low cost of the system. This box will be linked to a phone application that can signal several alarms mainly when the medications are about to finish, the patient forgets to take his medication or he (she) doesn't take the required dose (or the required number of pills)… This system was tested over 30 different medications and when using ten different mobile phones by more than 25 patients and the results didn't show any faulty alarms.

Our project main aim is to make a Smart medicine bottle for those users who regularly take medicines and the prescription of their medicine is very long as it is hard to remember for patients and also for their caregivers. Also, Old age patients suffer from problems of forgetting to take pills at the proper time which causes certain health issues for patients having Permanent diseases like diabetes, thyroid, blood pressure, breathing problem, heart problems, and cancer diseases. We saw these problems in hospitals & people around us who have such kinds of diseases and thus based on these two problems we made smart medicine bottles that solve these problems by setting time schedule of prescribed medicines through push buttons as given in the prescription.
