In a world where technology has bridged the gap between people communicating to reducing human efforts and improving efficiency, the problem that major hospitals & pharmacies face is i.e. lack of staff & resources. As per the survey conducted by LANCET[1], India faces a significant shortage in medical staff which leads to patients being unattended for several hours. This problem can be solved if the tasks per staff member is reduced and one such way is by reducing their repetitive movement from the patient's room to the pharmacy for giving the medicines to the patient. This effort can be reduced by creating a remotely located machine which can be placed at the right place to dispense medicines automatically. This reduces the extra movements and hence provides them the time to do tasks that are of more importance. Although the concept of an automated medicine dispensing unit is not new, it is something that if built and implemented, can provide aid to patients in developing count...

The consumption of prescribed medicine on time has become the most important requirement in day-to-day busy life. The adherence to the schedules of medicine dosage becomes critical with the problem or disease, which is being treated. Therefore, the importance of it varies from person to person. To overcome the problems of the adherence to medicine dosages, many products and designs of medicine dispenser have been proposed. In this paper, the prototype of Portable Smart Medicine Dispenser has been discussed, which overcomes the problems of many of the existing designs and provides the improved characteristics in it. Android has been used as the GUI for the system and NodeMCU ESP8266, a microcontroller with inbuilt Wi-Fi module, has been used. The Xcluma 28Ybj-48 Stepper motor is used to rotate the container of medicine. The history has also been setup, which shows the list of alarms, which have been successfully alerted and container is rotated. The medicine, if not taken within a specified time, the alert is sent to the caretaker in the form of notification of the Android App. Another improvement in this design is that the Firebase, which is a real-time and NOSQL database has been used, which helps in quick synchronization of the data from the Android app to Firebase and vice versa.
— In this busy scheduled life, people usually tends to forget to take their medicine on time due to forgetfulness or memory loss due to aging. In rural India most of the people are unable to follow the physician's prescription, which causes over dosage or wrong dosage due to misunderstanding of physician's direction. It may cause negative consequences for patients. Sometimes it results to severe impact on their health. This paper presents the design and implementation of " A Novel Design of ARM based Automated Medication Dispenser " for those who take medications without continuous professional supervision. Automated dispensing systems are eHealth drug storage devices that electronically dispense medications in a controlled fashion and track medication use. Monitoring of medication has been given the highest priority. Automated pill dispenser can track the missed medications doses. It notifies the patients through buzzing an alarm, or throgh a phone call or flashing data on the server. Live data is updated in the server for each dose at the scheduled time with help of IoT. Sometimes even after the alarm, if the patients did not take any medicines then it will alert the care takers/ nursing staff through sending messages to server or making phone calls. Caretaker can acces the details anywhere using mHealth.

Nowadays it is difficult for family members to be available all the time to help and support the aged and in our society most families are elementary with only childrens and parents and Caring for the aged member is very of serious issue . Often the aged persons fails to remember to take proper medication on time. There are issues concerning senior's ability to remember to take and medicine on their own. Automatic pills dispenser box is an approach as a solution to such problems . It dispenses medicines on required time with notifying the caretaker person. There are various medicine dispensers with same functionality available but different dispensers mechanisms and the designs The designing and mechanism vary with the types and sizes of the medicines . Hence a optimal dispensing mechanism for storing and dispensing medicines is required . In this research paper, a dispense mechanisms detailed review of the Automatic pills Dispensers and its design is presented .

The main theme of this paper is to automate the tablet dispensing process for older and sick patients who can easily forget their medicine intake or mistakenly take the wrong medicine at the wrong time. This project will ensure the tablet dispensing process is carried out at the right time whenever it is required and the right tablet is dispensed to the patients with correct dosage. Additionally the health monitoring system by increasing the scalability with the power of the internet of things.
The aging population, prevention of chronic diseases, and outbreaks of infectious diseases are some of the major challenges of our human society. Health monitoring (HM) is the practical application of safety monitors to a complicated system in order to ensure either prediction of a potential mishap before it occurs. Drugs playing a major role in the health care and maintaining the health. Most of the people do not use the prescription for identifying the correct medicine which may lead to improper health condition and some mishaps. At present there is no automatic system for intimating the user to take the drugs at right time. In this paper we are presenting the system that can deliver drugs (medicines) to the patient on time without any other support and also setting a alarm to intimate the patient to take the right medicine at right time.

A Dispenser is a machine that dispenses items such as snacks, beverages, consumer products to customers automatically, after the customer chooses the specific product and required quantity of their choice. There are various kinds of dispenser and vending machine, so during the pandemic period, we have planned to design a medicine dispenser for corona patients keeping social distancing in mind. Dispenser machines can dispense different items or quantities of something much more conveniently. It is similar to an automated machine without man power which we normally see in metropolitan cities. Our aim is to construct an automated medicine dispenser prototype model, which can be installed in hospitals and pharmacies to dispense medicines to elderly patients, blind people, corona patients and many more.
This paperpresents an advanced medicine intake monitoring and control system. The proposed system consists on a smart medicine box that is designed to help patients taking their medications on time. Two main features are implemented during the design phase of this system: the first one is the safety feature that will alarm the patient in case of not taking and/or bad dosage taking for medication, will keep the medication out of reach of the children and will be used in case of failure of one of the system's components whereas the second feature is the low cost of the system. This box will be linked to a phone application that can signal several alarms mainly when the medications are about to finish, the patient forgets to take his medication or he (she) doesn't take the required dose (or the required number of pills)… This system was tested over 30 different medications and when using ten different mobile phones by more than 25 patients and the results didn't show any faulty alarms.

The purpose of the project is to design a system that can handle and dispense substances (chemicals, food etc.) without human intervention. The system being developed is in relation to the problems being faced by the labours in handling accurate quantity of substances in many retail shops/manufacturing industries. The conventional method used by the labours is through hand handling the substances, which may be hazardous in case of chemicals. On successful completion of the project, this problem is sure to get solved. The system is mainly divided into 3 layers: (1) User Layer (2) Decision Making Layer (3) Action Layer. User layer consists of touch pad for the human interaction, which takes the input from the users regarding substances and its subsequent weight. Decision making layer consist of micro-controller (Arduino UNO/ MEGA), as soon as the user enters the data, the data is processed by the system. Action layer comprises of Actuator (Motor, dispensing controller). After the authentication the Automatic Dispensing Machine dispenses the required amount on to a container. The system is designed using SOLIDWORKS software package. Later, Fabrication can also be done in detail as per required dimensions.
Clinical scenario for critically ill patients involves large number of medical devices, such as, bed side monitors that provide vital information about the admitted patient. Critically ill patients need prompt and perfect decision, so that lifesaving drugs can be delivered at a proper time. Moreover suggestions/ recommendations of a super specialist doctor may also be required in hospitals. The main problem in hospitals is lack of specialist doctors, so, patients are not able to approach to them on time. Automatic drug delivery using microprocessor/ microcontroller has improved tremendously in recent years due to advancement in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This paper is focused on various Drug Delivery System Interfaces used in emergency cases to reduce manual intervention. We are proposing a hybrid approach for drug dispensing, which can work as open or closed loop system. Another feature of this system is that it can be controlled from a remote location, so is to provide virtual presence of a doctor. The system will help the doctor monitor the patient as per the immediate requirement and deliver drug remotely to patient using smart phone.
