Book II: Pollution Ecology

2025, Book II: Pollution Ecology

Abstract

With hope and effort, the author seeks to enhance understanding of pollution ecology and the dangers posed by polluting industries, which, despite their benefits to society and the economy, also contribute to the contamination of water, air, and agricultural soil through their discharges. The unfortunate fate of waterlogging, especially following the widening of the Halda River, is widely documented. Species extinction and gene alienation, exacerbated by water quality degradation, have also been observed in the neighboring wetland areas of the Chattogram hi-tech park. Despite the regulations in place at the sources of pollution, policymakers have often failed to address existing disparities and deficiencies in waste management measures. Given the pressing need for improved management models, pollution ecology must be prioritized over health ecology to tackle new risks and looming disasters (Rowland, 2000).
