Abstract

A broad and growing body of research suggests that intergroup contact can reduce bias (e.g., Pettigrew, Tropp, Wagner, & Chris, 2011). At the same time, polling suggests that many White adults do not experience intergroup contact in their friend groups-as many as 40% of White Americans do not have a single non-White friend
