The series introduction discusses the enduring relevance of the Rorschach test within psychological assessments, highlighting its historical significance and intellectual richness introduced by key figures in the field. It retrospectively examines the impact of John Exner’s Comprehensive System in revitalizing the test amidst challenges faced from behaviorism and humanism, while also reflecting on the diminishing presence of original Rorschach methodologies. The introduction sets the stage for a series of reviews aimed at contextualizing classical works in Rorschach psychology for contemporary practitioners, promoting a comprehensive understanding that integrates both psychometric and idiographic approaches.

We systematically evaluated the peer-reviewed Rorschach validity literature for the 65 main variables in the popular Comprehensive System (CS). Across 53 meta-analyses examining variables against externally assessed criteria (e.g., observer ratings, psychiatric diagnosis), the mean validity was r ϭ .27 (k ϭ 770) as compared to r ϭ .08 (k ϭ 386) across 42 meta-analyses examining variables against introspectively assessed criteria (e.g., self-report). Using Hemphill's (2003) data-driven guidelines for interpreting the magnitude of assessment effect sizes with only externally assessed criteria, we found 13 variables had excellent support (r Ն .33, p Ͻ .001; І FSN Ͼ 50), 17 had good support (r Ն .21, p Ͻ .05, FSN Ն 10), 10 had modest support (p Ͻ .05 and either r Ն .21, FSN Ͻ 10, or r ϭ .15-.20, FSN Ն 10), 13 had little (p Ͻ .05 and either r ϭ Ͻ .15 or FSN Ͻ 10) or no support (p Ͼ .05), and 12 had no construct-relevant validity studies. The variables with the strongest support were largely those that assess cognitive and perceptual processes (e.g., Perceptual-Thinking Index, Synthesized Response); those with the least support tended to be very rare (e.g., Color Projection) or some of the more recently developed scales (e.g., Egocentricity Index, Isolation Index). Our findings are less positive, more nuanced, and more inclusive than those reported in the CS test manual. We discuss study limitations and the implications for research and clinical practice, including the importance of using different methods in order to improve our understanding of people.
Controversy has surrounded the Rorschach throughout most of its history, not because it is worthless, but because it has so often been used for the wrong purposes. Psychlit, PEP, PubMed, Google scholar, CAB Abstracts and article references were searched to identify critical commentaries and published globally in English between 1921and 2012. Findings of the review suggest that the virtues of the Rorschach are modest but genuine.

Rorschach Inkblot test has been in use in India since 1947 and was used with diverse clinical and non-clinical population. In the recent period it is primarily used with the clinical population. Different scoring systems are followed in the country. Though research findings showed the usefulness of Rorschach Inkblot Test in diagnosis, understanding psychopathology and in therapy, research interest related to the use of the Rorschach Inkblot Test in India appears to be declining. There is a need to revitalise the training on its use, interpretation and research. The case report of a patient who had not undergone psychotherapy and showed the consistency of the responses even after an interval of fourteen years is presented. Probably there are a group of patients who maintain their perceptual structure, unaffected by ageing and input from environment, in the absence of receiving any form of psychotherapy.

Clinical testing data and reports based on the Rorschach have applications in neuropsychological assessment. This study reports on scholarship that supports this assertion.
The Rorschach remains one of the worldwide reference psychological tests, about hundred years since its creation. Moreover, in recent years there are processes of deep transformation in the models, theories, diagnostic criteria and types of interventions in clinical psychology and psychiatry. In this process the neurosciences have a central role. It is, therefore, essential to assess the relevance and validity of the Rorschach in this new background. Part of these new paradigms is the dimensional psychobiological personality models. In this paper, we work with two of them, the Cloninger and Zuckerman personality models. This paper presents the correlations between Rorschach´s variables, TCI-140 and ZKPQ-50-CC scales in a representative (N=80) Uruguayan sample. We found that all dimensions of TCI-140 and ZKPQ-50-CC show significant correlations with at least 6 Rorschach variables. We conclude that the Rorschach test could be a relevant research and assessment tool, but some improvements are necessary.
An Analysis of Rorschach Inkblot Personality Assessment Tests While many personality assessment tests today consist of interviews and lengthy surveys, there was once a period where projective techniques dominated the psychological study of personality. In order to break away from the study of traits, projective tests such as the Rorschach inkblot tests were thought to give insight into the holistic self at a deeper level (Hertz, 1992, p. 168). As the inkblots became a popular method of assessment, controversy in its validity and scoring methods began to stir. Despite its doubters, the Rorschach test began to spread worldwide as countries adapted the test to their individual cultures. Many psychology associations still feel the need for students and therapists to understand the Rorschach test and encourage training for its code scoring. In looking further into these famous inkblot tests, one will discover that although this method of assessment still carries significance in understanding personality for some psychologists, it should not be solely relied on as an assessor. Nearly a hundred years since its inception, Rorschach test remains one of the worldwide reference psychological tests. In the last years we have observed processes of deep transformation in models and theories in clinical psychology and psychiatry and neurosciences have an increasing role. There is growing evidence supporting the relationship between psychopathology and cognitive functions, where Executive Functions (EF) represents a core target. It is essential to assess relevance and validity of the Rorschach in that new landscape. This paper presents the correlations between Rorschach´s variables, a psychopathological scale SA- 45, and EF scales DEX-Sp and FAB in a representative (N=80) Uruguayan sample.
