I work in the areas of syntax and syntactic typology of South Asian languages with a special reference to Tibeto-Burman, Austro-Asiatic (Munda and Mon-Khmer), Dravidian and Indo-Aryan language families. My book South Asian Languages: A Syntactic Typology (Cambridge University Press, Cambridge: New York 2012) deals with topics and issues in the four language families. My other areas of interest include dealing with grammatical issues concerning English language teaching and Hindi-Urdu language teaching. Right now, I'm actively engaged in writing a grammar of Mizo, a Tibeto-Burman language spoken in Mizoram, India.
