From a study of mine carried out at the time of the scientific committee of the Historical Procession of the City of Orvieto, the lists of feuds and families reconstructed on the basis of documentary sources for an initial residential contextualization of the notable families in the urban territory of Orvieto.

The foundation dates back to the thirteenth century (perhaps to the twelfth), in the same period in which those of Bologna, Paris, Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Padua flourished. Orvieto has been a bishopric since at least the 6th century and hosts the pope and his court on several occasions. Hundreds and hundreds of people, cardinals with their respective families, the Curia studium, elevate and make the cultural, social and economic life of the city flourish in full evolution and urban transformation, cultural production and artistic patronage.

Ring road to the Cassia consular road which from the heights above Bolsena, from Poggio di Biagio followed the ridge towards Villanova and Buonviaggio and headed towards Orvieto where it crossed the Paglia river at the bridge known as Le Colonnacce (also called "Vetus" to distinguish it from the current Cassia) . Street of municipal importance, when the Municipality of Orvieto was still the reference point of an ancient countryside which later became the district of a delegation capital and subsequently a papal province (1831).

Thomas is responsible for the Office of Corpus Domini which is still celebrated today throughout the Christian universe. Texts written in the Studium at the convent of San Domenico in Orvieto. Here is also the Crucifix - one of the three, according to tradition (the other two were in Paris and Naples) - which spoke to Doctor Angelicus. Tommaso is our fellow citizen. Highest expression of universal world culture, not only philosophical, theological, literary. Culture, also partly inspired by, in and on the Rupe of this Orvieto, City of Corpus Domini.
