Nelle politiche di rappresentazione urbana, i legami tra i luoghi del patrimonio e la rigenerazio... more Nelle politiche di rappresentazione urbana, i legami tra i luoghi del patrimonio e la rigenerazione urbana sono tra i primi ad essere reinterpretati ed esibiti, sia dagli attori privati sia da quelli pubblici. Esse parlano un linguaggio sia materiale-visibile e sotto gli occhi di tutti-sia discorsivo e dunque incarnato dalla loro natura performativa. La costruzione dei significati che la rigenerazione urbana veicola attraverso il patrimonio storico esistente o innovativo produce nuovi immaginari e, per dirla con le parole di Hall e Robertson ha «un'aura di qualità» che si traduce in attrazione d'investimenti, in promozione del turismo culturale, in aumento dell'occupazione, in forme di riconoscimento (o contestazione) di carattere identitario e/o affettivo e, infine, in forme di trasformazione e crescita degli spazi urbani 1. Come si può notare da queste prime righe, i processi di rigenerazione coinvolgono diversi domini teorici e metodologici che sono rintracciabili nella già citata pratica discorsiva che innesca visioni e immaginazioni 2 ; nella rappresentazione 1

Discorsi sul paesaggio mediato. The book asks to question the relationship between the landscape and its worlds (literary, cinematographic, virtual). The fundamental question of the article is how one can grasp the sense of the landscape of the Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert (1994). Therefore, analyzing the famous film, the essay wants to correlate the sense of the landscape and the idea of nation. The landscape as a symbol is the frame of reference that will be examined, in particular the line of thought that imagines the landscape as the mental construction of a subject. In this way it will be possible to highlight the relationship between landscape cinema and Australianness. Finally, since the journey is, according to tradition, a place of encounters and clashes, exchanges and experiences, we will follow the adventures of the three protagonists along the road from Sydney to Alice ...

This essay aims to explore the Mediterranean Sea as a geopolitical space of conflict and dominion through the lens of border and diasporic studies, and to look for those voices coming from \u201cthe colonial\u201d as a process that put in crisis the Western hegemonic narration. In this postcolonial and diasporic sea, different powers, interests, dominions, but also voices, dissonances, trajectories, coexist and intersect. Following Paul Gilroy\u2019s argument in The Black Atlantic, today the Mediterranean is both a reduced Middle Passage with the migrant\u2019s routes, and a counter-archive of the contemporaneity. Indeed, the old mare nostrum, as it has always been thought by the Western eye, is a geopolitical laboratory where the contemporary capitalism experiments his necropower in the name of the Nation-State, and where the Fortress Europe exercises its killability extended through borders, wall...

Discorsi sul paesaggio mediato. The book asks to question the relationship between the landscape and its worlds (literary, cinematographic, virtual).
The fundamental question of the article is how one can grasp the sense of the landscape of the Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert (1994). Therefore, analyzing the famous film, the essay wants to correlate the sense of the landscape and the idea of nation.
The landscape as a symbol is the frame of reference that will be examined, in particular the line of thought that imagines the landscape as the mental construction of a subject. In this way it will be possible to highlight the relationship between landscape cinema and Australianness.
Finally, since the journey is, according to tradition, a place of encounters and clashes, exchanges and experiences, we will follow the adventures of the three protagonists along the road from Sydney to Alice Springs. Priscilla, the coach containing stories, represents the metaphor of the search for one’s own fluid identities under a present Australian landscape that reveals the construction of an ideological landscape, of a process of appropriation of spaces and, finally, still reveals the various identity and cultural differences.

This essay aims to explore the Mediterranean Sea as a geopolitical space of conflict and dominion through the lens of border and diasporic studies, and to look for those voices coming from “the colonial” as a process that put in crisis the Western hegemonic narration. In this postcolonial and diasporic sea, different powers, interests, dominions, but also voices, dissonances, trajectories, coexist and intersect. Following Paul Gilroy’s argument in The Black Atlantic, today the Mediterranean is both a reduced Middle Passage with the migrant’s routes, and a counter-archive of the contemporaneity. Indeed, the old mare nostrum, as it has always been thought by the Western eye, is a geopolitical laboratory where the contemporary capitalism experiments his necropower in the name of the Nation-State, and where the Fortress Europe exercises its killability extended through borders, walls, confinement, racial devices. The image of a black man left for days floating dead in July 2020 represents the all Mediterranean left-to-die boats; it speaks for the comeback of the removal: the colonial past. In this crossing, the Black Mediterranean let emerge the deep relationship always existed between Africa and Europe.
“The sea is history” wrote Derek Walcott. The Mediterranean Sea is indeed also an open and fluid archive of migrants’ stories, lives and narratives, too long dehumanized and turned into mere numbers, deprived of their identities and their names. This counter-archive can interrupt the dominant and hegemonic narration of that part of world that let “the colonial” drawing on the Mediterranean Sea. The right to narrate means the right to be: literature is in this sense the key to have access to the narratives of today’s migration, a pris-de-mot to deconstruct “the danger of the single story”. In this scenario, a new Afroitalian awareness is raising with the aim to subvert the Italian gaze about its colonial history. Some of these writers, mostly women, through their narratives, their arts, their activism, let emerge those Black Italy voices which are silenced and removed.

So, an attempt to create the bonds for a reflection on the meaning of writing and translation, and on the sense of identity and alterity is made through the voices of authors like Morrison, Devi, and Spivak. It is in the border writing of postcolonial authors that we find a ‘space of in-between’ that allows what has been removed – a testimony of the Mediterranea matter – to emerge

This article analyses a didactic experience in the Borgo Ulivia neighborhood (Palermo), which ori... more This article analyses a didactic experience in the Borgo Ulivia neighborhood (Palermo), which originates from a research on council housing’s requalifying as a planning laboratory. In particular, its aim is to answer three questions: which choice guides the research in the field? What kind of didactic approach can we use? What kind of didactic restitution should be used? Within the didactic framework, answering these questions has three roles. First of all, we identify places capable of talking about tensions present at the local level but also in other geographical areas. Secondly, we reflect on the possible methods of research. Finally, we show how teaching is practiced both in the reflective approach and in the process of sharing with the class.
