
Fabio Romanini
Fabio Romanini was born in Ferrara (19th January 1975). Degree in History of Italian Language (University of Ferrara, 1999: supervisor Paolo Trovato), on an ancient volgarizzamento of Lucan’s De bello civili, Ph.D (University of Padua, 2003: supervisor Pier Vincenzo Mengaldo), on philological and linguistic features of the odoeporic anthology Navigationi et viaggi by G.B. Ramusio. Since 2001 he’s been collaborating to the Tesoro della Lingua Italiana delle Origini (www.vocabolario.org), studying some hundred words for the dictionary. He was given a scholarship at University for Foreigners of Siena, in year 2003, to prepare a vaste database on volgarizzamenti (supervisor Claudio Ciociola); he was given a second scholarship at University of Bologna, in years 2004-2005, to study odoeporics in the XVI century (supervisor Luciano Formisano) and continued on the same line of research at University of Milano-Bicocca during the years 2006-2009 (supervisor Paolo Zublena). He was Assistant Professor of Romance Philology at University E-Campus (Novedrate) since 2009, and then Research Fellow and Associate Professor at University of Trieste since 2012 until 2021. Since 2021 he is Associate Professor of Italian Linguistics at University di Ferrara. He is qualified for a position of Full Professor since 2018. He was editorial assistant of the scientific journal «Filologia italiana» and he is co-director of the journal since 2015.
He is now attending the edition of Dante’s Purgatorio, collaborating with Paolo Trovato's research team on the tradition of the "Commedia", and an anthology of odoeporic literature of XVIth-XVIIIth centuries.
