The study draws attention to the opportunities offered by alternative agri-food systems based on agroecology and food sovereignty as cultural heritage to support sustainable local development. The results of the study demonstrate how the recovery and promotion of traditional ecological knowledge can help increase the capacity of socio-ecological systems to cope with shocks and disruptions and maintain long-term resilience. At the same time, agro-ecological practises allow collective identities to emerge around characteristics of rural space, strengthening local life, focusing on the coevolution of the society-ecosystem of local identity. The case study analyzed in Romania counties shows that rural areas play a critical role in economic and social cohesion, in the resilience of regions and in the contribution of countless services in various local ecosystems, including food production, to their consolidation socio-economic prosperity, the ability to innovate, to achieve a sustainable and inclusive social economy. The types of policies promoted by Romania conceive agro-ecological practices as an intangible collective heritage with a significant potential for transformation towards local sustainability.

The street food sector offers to the guests various dishes and drinks prepared at the place of sale or only marketed by itinerant merchants or by vendors with stationary carts, either on the streets or in other public places that may be of interest for tourists. Fast food is generally associated with globalization, so present in high income per capita countries. This paper aims to present a radiography of street food marketing, an image that defines a particular region or country.

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the Romanian wine heritage, with an impressive historical past, to highlight the considerable potential regarding the development of wine tourism in Romania, the factors that attract and motivate this alternative form of tourism, respectively the efficiency of a network of thematic routes in Dealu Mare vineyard. The study performs a radiography of wine tourism in Dealu Mare region, of the ways in which thematic routes, such as the Wine Road, 14 years after launch, can contribute to the socioeconomic development of the Sub-Carpathian region of Prahova, through moderate investments and rapid results. If from the second postwar period and for the following twenty years the coastal space has maintained even a minimal break with the anthropized spaces, starting from the 1970s the rapid industrial development has increasingly occupied the coasts. These changes along the costal space can be understood referring to the 'maritime-coastal region', which are places between the land and the sea, profoundly different by the integration of resources. During the following years, the growing awareness of the economic importance of the sea and its immediate hinterland has generated further changes in the evaluation of the role of maritime spaces in the processes of territorial organization. The chapter focuses its attention on one of the most symbolic maritime cultural assets: lighthouses. They are distributed along the European coastlines, responding to the same historical function, and evoking a common past. A very interesting case is Galicia, a finisterre Spanish region. Its coast is rich in lighthouses and other architectural structures, which for a long time have been at the service of the navy, redefined with new economic and social functions. As a result, lighthouses and other cultural resources are considered as an expression of that system of signs that binds the territorial components. From a methodological point of view, the proposal uses a qualitative approach, with the aim to point out how lighthouses have become scenarios of new functions thus satisfying the needs of tourists with a high attractive potential. In reconstructing this evolutionary process, the proposal will go through the analysis of the new socio-cultural and economic dynamics which, always guided by an inner Mediterranean identity, are transforming the coasts and landscapes. * While the paper is the result of a joint work, sections 1 is attributed to Donatella Privitera, sections 2 to Antonietta Ivona, sections 3 to Lucrezia Lopez. Conclusions are commons.

In this context, the objective of this study is to track a view on thermal tourism in Italy, focusing on a case study in the Apulia region. The primary function is therefore to establish important territorial safeguards aimed at satisfying the health demands of the population, while complying with the principles of therapeutic appropriateness and managerial efficiency. The analysis highlights the need to continue developing knowledge in a sector with great growth potential, especially in European countries.

It is also home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, as well as a rich cultural and agricultural history and quality products. Using GIS (Geographic Information System) analysis, it is possible to quantify and evaluate the value of this landscape, providing a better understanding of the value that the Etna landscape provides to the surrounding region. The study highlights the landscape transformations of Etna over the last years to ensure market integration and support sustainable resource management strategies regarding local cultural heritage and environmental sustainability. The Importance of Organic Agriculture
Applied Studies in Agribusiness and Commerce, 2010
"Many farmers, in addition to normal farming activity, have already turned to ag... more "Many farmers, in addition to normal farming activity, have already turned to agritourism as a source of additional farm income and opportunities. There are numerous benefits from the development of agritourism: it may strengthen local economy, create job opportunities and new businesses; develop and promote training and certification programs to introduce young people to agriculture and environment. Agritourism helps preserve rural lifestyles and landscape and also offers the opportunity to provide "sustainable" or "green" tourism. Organic agriculture is a cultural evolution that finds its origins in a environmentalist culture. Furthermore the focus on these products is due to demand on healthy foods with high quality standard limiting chemical substances usage. It’s clear the link of the organic agriculture with agritourism and tourism services. They have a considerable role in the future development of rural areas. The purpose of this paper was to identify and examine those factors that have helped rural communities successfully develop agritourism, in particular organic agritourism and its entrepreneurship opportunities. Several focus groups were conducted with local business persons and leaders about a applicative case of South Italy area."

This chapter also comprehensively highlights technologies that are impacting the tourism industry as well as the constraints the industry is facing. Many research studies have been conducted which outline the contributions and importance of technology in tourism in general. In recent years, various research studies, ranging from tourism management to geography, have increasingly explored the opportunities to use cutting-edge information and communication technologies (ICTs), implemented at different scales, in order to improve tourists’ experiences. Among several technology-driven solutions, augmented reality (AR) is usually regarded as a useful tool for tourism. AR has become an area of significant interest and investment in recent times. The present study focusses on case studies where AR-based smart tourism applications have been developed. In tourist destinations, visitors exhibit a great interest in learning while travelling. Curiosity plays a significant role for visitors buying trips for their families and they are willing to pay slightly more for a unique experience. The findings offer several contributions to the literature by providing new theoretical insights into the intersection of AR and tourism in Italian heritage sites, especially in Sicily.
