Haidy Geismar
With extensive and collaborative fieldwork in Vanuatu, Aotearoa New Zealand, and in museums around the world my research interests range from the entangled history of anthropology and photography, the nature of collections and the impulses of archiving, alternative economies and forms of intellectual and cultural property, and techniques and technologies for the representation of culture.
I moved to UCL after 8 years in Anthropology and Museum Studies at New York University. At UCL I am based within the Material Culture Research team in the Department of Anthropology and, with my colleagues Hannah Knox, Daniel Miller, Antonia Walford, and Shireen Walton, am running the Centre for Digital Anthropology.
Please go to www.haidygeismar.com for futher details of my research. In the publications section, you can download copies of almost all of my published papers. I've put a selection of my favorite papers on this site (and some that are harder to access).
