In today's competitive conditions, companies that want to open up to international markets should offer their products to the market by branding in order to protect and maintain their assets. Having a strong brand is one of the most important issues that will enable companies to increase their exports in highly competitive environments. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the brand value of companies and especially exports and selected financial statement components. The Panel Tobit Method was used in the study to investigate the association between the brand values of 24 manufacturing industry businesses traded on the BIST 100 and their export and chosen financial ratios.As a result of the analysis, a significant and positive relationship was found between the brand values of the companies and their export, paid-in capital and stock returns. Based on the knowledge that exports increase brand value, it emerges that companies should turn to investments that increase and develop brand value in export management.

Öz Son zamanlarda gelişen pazarlama kavramının etkisi ile tüketici davranışlarının incelenmesi büyük önem teşkil etmeye başlamıştır. Bu nedenle tüketicilerin demografik özelliklerinin tüketici satın alma davranışları üzerindeki etkileri de ayrıca irdelenmeye başlanmıştır. Bunun bir örneği olarak bu çalışmada da tüketici davranışı kavramı açıklanmaya çalışılarak, tüketici satın alma davranışlarını etkileyen demografik özelliklerden cinsiyetin etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu çalışma ile amaçlanan ise genel olarak tüketicilerin cinsiyetlerinin satın alma davranışlarını etkileme derecesinin tespiti ve ilişkilendirilebileceği tüm alanlarda etkin kullanımını sağlamaktır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Azerbaycan'da yaşayan tüketicilere uygulanan anket formundan elde edilen verilerin analizi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmadaki verilerin analizi için ise SPSS 19 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Yine çalışmada tüketicilerin cinsiyetleri ile satın alma davranışlarına verdikleri cevaplar arasında bazı anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Abstract Because of the developing effect of the term "marketing" the observation of the behaviours of consumers has been getting important. For that reason; the effect of consumers' demographic characteristics on consumers' purchasing behaviours is started to research, too. In this study, as a simple, it is aimed to explain the term "consumer behaviour" and it is studied the effect of gender, one of the demographic characteristics. Generally, with this study, it is aimed to find purchasing behaviours and make use of the study in every field that it is related to. The sample of the study consists of the analysing of the datas from the survey that carried on the consumers in Azerbaijan. SPSS v. 19 is used to analyze the datas in the study. Some meaningful relationships have been found between the genders of consumers and the answers that they gave to the purchasing behaviours. Giriş 1950'lerden sonra gelişen pazarlama kavramının etkisi ve artan rekabet şartları, işletmelerin tüketici tercihlerini etkileyebilmek için pazarlama karmasını sürekli olarak geliştirmelerine ve yeni stratejiler uygulamalarını zorunlu hale getirmiştir. Mal ve hizmet çeşitliliğine ve hizmet sunumuna dayalı ürün farklılaştırması, fiyat farklılaştırmasına dayalı fiyatlandırma stratejileri, çeşitli satış geliştirme çabalarını ve sınırlı miktarda da olsa reklam ve tanıtım faaliyetlerini içeren çeşitli tutundurma stratejileri ağırlıklı pazarlama stratejileri ile işletmeler birbirleri ile rekabet etmeye başlamışlardır. Bu yönü ile işletmelerin içinde yer aldığı pazarlar son derece dinamik bir yapı arz etmekte ve pazarlarda hızlı değişimler yaşanabilmektedir. Ancak bunların hepsi bir yana birde pazarda bulunan tüketicilerin kişisel özellikleri de bu pazarların şekillenmesinde etkili olmaya başlamıştır. Bu özellikler tüketicilerin o an bulundukları yaşları, cinsiyetleri, meslekleri, eğitim durumları gibi özelliklerdir. Tüketicilerin bu tarz özellikleri bilindiği taktirde, talep edilecek ürün veya hizmetle ilgili fikir beyanı kolaylaşabilmekte ve tüketicilere maksimum fayda sağlanabilmektedir. İşte bu çalışma ile amaçlanan da, giderek artan rekabet ortamında, Azerbaycan'daki tüketicilerin Cinsiyetleri ile satın alma davranışları arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığının tespit edilip, bu ilişkilere yönelik önerilerde bulunarak Azerbaycanlı tüketicilerle ilgili işletmelere bilgi vermektir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulguların hem literatüre katkı sağlayacağı hem de Azerbaycan pazarındaki işletmelere ve konuyla ilgili akademisyenlere yeterli ipuçları sunacağı beklenmektedir. In this study, there is suggested proposals and determined about such a way must be followed in complying presentation in accordance with letter of credit payment and the faults of exporting companies specific to Turkey in this issue. Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, tüketicilerin özel günlerde satın alma davranışlarının ve niyetlerinin değişip değişmediğini tespit etmek ve işletmelerin satış tutundurma faaliyetlerinin özel günlerde tüketicilerin satın alma davranışına olan etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Yöntem: Türkiye’de yaşayan 18 yaş üstü 393 katılımcıyla 24.07.2020-08.08.2020 tarihleri arasında kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile dijital ortamda çevrimiçi anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın analizi kapsamında Spearman korelasyon testleri yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Elde edilen bulgularına göre işletmelerin özel günlerde yaptıkları indirimler, sundukları promosyonlar ve ödeme kolaylıkları tüketicilerin satın alma davranışını ve satın alma niyetini olumlu olarak etkilemektedir. İşletmelerin özel günlerde sattıkları ürün veya hizmetlerde yaptıkları kampanya, indirim gibi promosyon faaliyetlerinin tüketicileri satın almaya ikna ettiği söylemek mümkündür. Özgünlük: Araştırmanın diğer çalışmalardan farklı olarak orijinalliği, işletmelerin özel günlerde tüketicilere yönelik yaptıkları satış tutundurma faaliyetlerinin etkisini incelemek üzere yapılmış olmasıdır. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada diğerlerinden farklı olarak işletmelerin satış tutundurma faaliyetleri karşısında tüketicilerin tutumları incelenmekte ve ileride yapılacak olan çalışmalara katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Gelecekteki çalışmalarda işletmeler için özel günleri fırsata çevirmek ve markaları için hedef kitleleriyle ortak hisler paylaşarak anlamlı ilişkiler kurmaları bakımından özel günlerle marka imajlarını ve marka bağlılığı oluşturma etkisi incelenebilir.

The Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has created a catastrophic humanitarian crisis and threatened the stability of geopolitical relations. The
war has added to mounting concerns about a sharp slowdown in global growth, a rise in inflation and debt and a surge in poverty. The
economic impact of conflict has rippled through various global channels, including commodity and financial markets, trade and migration
links and confidence. The aim of this research is to reveal the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war on the global economy. While examining
the economic impacts of the war in the research, the reports of organizations such as OECD, World Trade Organization, World Bank,
UN, IMF, UNCTAD were used. According to the reports, it is possible to say that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will affect
the global economy via three main channels: financial sanctions, increase of commodity prices and supply chain disruptions.

This is an excerpt from a larger work on biotechnology patents and access to healthcare looking to provide an alternative, rather indirect solution that might improve the whole IPRs environment and ease the longstanding strife between access to health and patent protection. This paper argues that increase of the overall standard in developing and least developed countries through provision of better education, in turn, supported by IPRs resources, can contribute to better access to healthcare and novel patented medicines. For this purpose, an analytical method is used going through various approaches to IPRs ranging from public-private interests, information and patents, individualism and IPRs as well as looking into the concept of knowledge economy. Ograniczenia praw autorskich i ich wpływ na egzekwowanie praw autorskich w środowisku cyfrowym) Streszczenie W artykule omówiony został problem ograniczeń prawa autorskiego i ich wpływ na jego egzekwowanie w środowisku cyfrowym, przy czym główna uwaga została poświęcona realizacji prawa autorskiego w sferze prywatnej. Celem opracowania był nie tylko przegląd problematyki, ale także zaproponowanie możliwych rozwiązań co do egzekwowania prawa autorskiego w nowoczesnych mediach. Oprócz analizy aktualnego stanu prawnego dotyczącego regulacji prawnych w zakresie prawa autorskiego omówiono także środki i metody jego realizacji w środowisku cyfrowym, pozytywny i negatywny wpływ na społeczeństwo oraz jego rozwój. Porównano także najważniejsze europejskie i amerykańskie uregulowania legislacyjne w zakresie prawa autorskiego w środowisku cyfrowym.

The digital era presents itself as a problem of our time throughout the industry, economy, society, culture, education, that is, all aspects of the current human life. While it has brought about immense advantages, as many new things before have, the challenges it gives rise to seem to overwhelm policymakers, legislators, leaders, educators, law enforcement as well as ordinary people. There doesn't seem to be a simple or uniform way to address these challenges as they need a different touch in the respective fields in which they emerge, so a rather elaborate and diversified approach might be required. While this paper attempts to primarily understand the origin of the problem, it focuses on alternative approaches to its solution, challenges the way it has so far been addressed, concluding with some suggestions and remarks on how this should be improved.

The main objective of this study is to shed light on the effects of Chinese investments on the global competitiveness of Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically Chad, Ethiopia, and Ghana. The study employs a qualitative technique based on depth semi-structured interviews. In the indepth interviews with field professionals and experts, four questions were asked to one participant from each country. The depth interviews show that Ghana and Ethiopia have the most competitive potential respectively. On the other hand, Chad has no chance of competing due to limited resources. While Chad is characterized by poor governance and limited economic freedom, Ghana and Ethiopia have relatively a large capacity to attract foreign investment. China, as a strong competitor, uses various strategies to beat local rivals in Chad, Ethiopia, and Ghana. In this regard, it offers a wide range of products of average quality at affordable prices to customers in Chad and Ethiopia, while benefiting from large-scale production, economies of scale, and tax breaks in Ghana. With this, local investors are unable to compete with China, which negatively impact the local markets to flourish, especially in the long run.

The main objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the competitiveness of Sub-Saharan African countries, specifically Chad, Ethiopia, and Ghana by applying Porter's Diamond Model (1990) and to investigate the impact of Chinese investments on global competitiveness. Using Porter’s model (1990) as a framework, the thesis employs a qualitative technique based on both in-depth semi-structured interviews as primary data, and uses secondary sources including books, and articles. Thus, this study is the first attempt to address this issue.
The survey results and later in-depth interviews in this study show that Ghana has the most competitive advantage in all Diamond model components, from firm strategy, structure, and rivalry to government factors. Ethiopia, the second most competitive country, has competitive potential in all model components except demand conditions and government factors. Chad, however, is the least competitive country, lacking a competitive advantage in every element of the model, from firm strategy, structure, and rivalry to government factors. China, on the other hand, as a strong competitor, uses various strategies to beat local rivals in Chad, Ethiopia, and Ghana. In this regard, it offers a wide range of products of average quality at affordable prices to customers in Chad and Ethiopia, while benefiting from large-scale production, economies of scale, and tax breaks in Ghana. With this, local investors are unable to compete with China, which negatively impact the local markets to flourish, especially in the long run.

The relationship between China and Africa has been cited as one of the prominent examples of South-South cooperation (SSC) in the last six decades. This cooperation began especially after years of underdevelopment, economic injustice and exploitation caused by the North (the Western Powers). The cooperation between China and Africa did not only satisfy China’s need for natural resources (such as gases, oils, minerals, and forests), but also provided new markets for its goods.
That being the case, the relationship between China and Africa has created two conflicting perspectives that can be categorised as Chinese and Western stances. The Chinese stance, which also backed by the African leaders often emphasises on deepening the relationship for mutual benefits as well as win-win outcomes of the two parties. “Chinese Investment Model", “Chinese foreign aid” as well as “the cultural and educational exchanges between China and Africa” are the main examples given to support this approach. The Western stance, which mainly advocated by Western academics and researchers on the other hand, claims the opposite. It exemplifies China’s “Unfair Trade Practices”, “Labour Exploitation” and “Dumping effects or price cutting” for this claim. It criticizes every aspect of China's activities, even raising questions about “Neo-colonialism” and a “New Scramble for Africa”.
Yet it is important to note that although China has demonstrated certain actions that might evoke a Neo-colonialist or a hegemonic approach, however; it is unfair to claim the same as what the Western Powers did during the “scramble of Africa” in the 19th century.

Eski Yunan siyaset felsefesinde olduğu gibi İslam düşünce geleneğinde de sosyal bir varlık olarak insan, ancak ve ancak içinde yaşadığı topluluktaki dayanışma sayesinde olgunluğa ulaşabileceği öne sürülmektedir. Toplumu oluşturan insanların topluluklar halinde bir arada yaşaması bir fıtrat olarak görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte bireyler, sahip oldukları farklı arzu ve istekleri, peşine düştükleri farklı menfaatlerinden dolayı zaman zaman toplumda kargaşa ve kaoslar meydana gelmektedir. İşte olası muhtemel olan bu kaos ve kargaşa ortamını önlemek adına toplumda bir yönetim olması gerekmektedir. Bu idare, devlettir. Devlet, söz konusu bu amaca hizmet ederken kimi zamanlarda kaba güç kullanarak bazı zamanlarda ise adaleti sağlayarak insanlar arasında bir düzen kurmaya çalışır. Adaletin yapay yahut sınaî bir özelliğe sahip oluğunu düşünen Kınalızade’ye göre adalet yerine sevgi ve muhabbete dayalı bir toplum modelini benimsemiş ve bu konuda yeni tezler geliştirmiştir. Ona göre yapay, sınaî olması hasebiyle Adalet, tabiî olan sevginin tam olarak işler hale geldiği toplumda bulunamaz. Bu da şu anlama gelmektedir: Adaletin olmadığı yerde devlet yer alamaz, nitekim devletin asıl amacı adaletin tesisidir. Çalışma, Kınalızade’nin toplum modeli ile Marx’ın ve Lenin’nin kurguladığı ve devrimler neticesinde kurulacak olan Komü- nist toplumdaki düzen ile ortak noktaları olduğunu öne sürmektedir. Nitekim Marksist düşüncesine göre Komü- nist devrimden sonra kurulacak olan Proletarya diktatörlüğü devletinin, toplumda yaşanan sosyal, ekonomik vs. gelişmelerin sonucunda değişime uğrayacak ve zamanla bazı işlevlerini yitirirken kimi fonksiyonları başkalaşacak ki sonunda “devlet”, devlet olmaktan çıkmış olur. Kınalızâde ise sevginin yerleştiği bir toplumda adaletin olmaya- cağı, adaletin de olmadığı yerde devlete gerek kalmayacağı sonucuna varır. Burada her iki düşüncedeki nihai tez; devletsizliğe geçiş olduğu söylenebilir.

Türkiye pursued a Western-centered foreign policy from 1923 to the beginning of the 2000s. However, in the early 2000s, the country attempted to restore the Ottoman heritage by turning East under the banner of Neo-Ottomanism. Türkiye's geopolitical and historical characteristics have played a strategic role in pursuing multifaceted foreign policy. Türkiye's relations with Africa improved throughout the 1990s, peaking during the Justice and Development Party's reign. Turkish-African relations have political, economic, military, and cultural dimensions. Foreign aid, on the other hand, is one of the most important components of Türkiye's soft power on the continent. Türkiye now implements humanitarian and development projects in more than 40 African countries through state and non-state entities such as TİKA and IHH. Using constructivism, this study investigates the driving factors behind Türkiye's foreign aid to Africa during the JDP era. It argues that Türkiye's foreign aid to Africa is defined primarily by the country's humanitarian and benevolent identity, which can be traced back to the Ottoman State. Türkiye's status as the Ottoman Empire's heir and a member of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC), along with 28 African countries, allows the country to interact with the continent on historical, social, religious, and cultural levels.
