With the staggering concerns in environmental pollution caused by the transportation industry, re... more With the staggering concerns in environmental pollution caused by the transportation industry, researchers have ventured their studies to identify the primary factors that may affect an individuals' propensity to choose public transportation as more sustainable transportation. Numerous research studies are surrounding this subject; however, no effort has been made to systematically review them for a synthesized analysis. There is also a lack of study in identifying contributing factors that may potentially affect each other to determine the propensity to take public transportation and identify their relationships to each other to provide a guide for future researchers to analyse and consider for future work. With the motivation to tackle the existing research inadequacies, we conducted a study that focuses on using a systematic literature review methodology with validated analyses on existing studies. This study found that demographic factors are the most analysed aspect, followed by transportation, trip-related and environmental. Secondly, our study provides new insight into several contributing factors affecting each other in predicting public transportation ridership. Thirdly, our findings also demonstrate the trends and gaps that occur in different geographical areas. The outcomes of our research present a consolidated view for relevant authorities to cater their strategies tactically according to each geographical area and identify potential opportunities for future research.

This paper uses a 2016/2017 sample of 1107 freshly minted university graduates from a public and ... more This paper uses a 2016/2017 sample of 1107 freshly minted university graduates from a public and a private university in Malaysia. Against a backdrop of an institutional setting very much different from that of western countries' and issues of high living costs and graduate unemployment, we analyse how academic performance affects graduates' employment likelihood, salaries, and salary distribution. Using quantile estimations, we find that academic performance is not a key determinant in whether or not a graduate secures a job upon graduation, and that having better academic performance would only be beneficial if the graduates are working in jobs at the lower half of the salary distribution. We fill the literature gap by analysing how academic performance affects new graduates in terms of where they are on the salary distribution continuum; such analyses are neglected in the literature.

Feedback from customers help business operators to understand their customers better in order to improve different aspects of their products and services. This research studies healthcare service consumers' perception of a private hospital on the quality of food, waiting time, services and customer expenses. This research intends to explore a set of customer's feedbacks from year 2013 to 2016 to investigate potential new findings and to create new value added improvements to the current process. Text mining technique were used to extract and discover hidden knowledge from the unstructured feedbacks. The techniques are text parsing, filter, topic and cluster as for sentiment analysis, term frequency and weight is used in conjunction with corpus of files of text to investigate the emotional elements of the feedbacks that can be classified into either positive, neutral or negative. The outcomes of this study have highlighted several new findings and supported hypothesis of this research.

Their uses demand a transition on the part of knowledge workers, however. Web 2.0 is an emerging communication technology that supports collaborative knowledge sharing in corporate learning paradigms, changing tailor-made, expensive and high learning curve digital systems to simple but well-accepted ones . These platforms revolutionise how participants share, communicate and create knowledge in a corporate setting . The use of Web 2.0 to support Knowledge Sharing (KS) has been extensively investigated . Studies that use a task-technology fit model on systems such as decision support [6] and eLearning demonstrate that a good fit between tasks and digital technologies is able to improve performance of knowledge workers. This research reports the outcomes on the fit between task categorization and knowledge sharing systems. The task categories and Web 2.0 functions used in knowledge sharing practices were consistent. The outcomes highlighted that intuitive design, ease of use and a low learning curve were able to elicit both tacit and explicit organizational knowledge. Text analysis demonstrated that new knowledge was created, exchanged and shared. The study concluded that knowledge sharing activity and the fit between Web 2.0 functions and task categories were consistent and significant.

This research investigates member spending behaviour and membership churn for a loyalty card company in Malaysia. This research conducts exploratory analysis on three key partners registered with the company to understand their outlets' spending activities and patterns. Meanwhile, this research also model membership churn based on the last 24 months' membership data to identify factors that influence membership churn so that effective strategy can be formulated to retain active members in the company.

Given the global impact of the pandemic on the educational sector, this study utilizes a quantitative research method that attempts to find out the effect of Covid-19 on undergraduate computing students' performance at higher education in Malaysia and Pakistan. This paper proposed a research model that focus on the accessibility, proficiency, financial circumstance, assessment, self-concern, and student-support in affecting students' performance during Covid-19 confinement. A pilot-test was conducted to test on the research model and to validate the instrument. The findings showed that all composite reliability values in Malaysia and Pakistan were found to meet the threshold value of 0.70, suggesting strong indicator reliability of the constructs.

Despite the benefits of blockchain, its adoption in the real estate industry is still in its infancy. Therefore, we investigate the factors that influence the acceptance of blockchain technology by buyers and sellers of real estate. This paper investigates the drivers of the use of knowledge-sharing tools through the lens of tas... more This paper investigates the drivers of the use of knowledge-sharing tools through the lens of tasktechnology fit (TTF), the role of social factors, and the cognitive and affective mechanisms. Data were collected from 294 knowledge workers and analyzed using partial least squares. This study found that cognition (i.e., perceived usefulness) and positive affect play an important role in mediating the effect of TTF, social influence, and trust on users' behavioral intention. Interestingly, the role of negative affect as a mediator between sociotechnical factors and behavioral intention is considered not significant by the knowledge workers. This research has practical implications for organizations that are planning or reviewing their knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Modern information driven society will continue to be shaped by big data, where there will be potential to extract meaningful insights and hidden patterns impacting businesses in unforeseen measures. Most employers in Malaysia provide medical benefits which includes general medical costs to hospitalization benefits and insurance coverages; with these data and information stored by the HR (Human Resource), leading to a potential to analyze and identify patterns in historical claims - these insights would lead to improved decision making to better understand employee population health and the usage of the premium coverage. In predictive analysis, common techniques applied are Decision Tree and Regression. Therefore, the aim of this research is to propose a conceptual prediction model to better understand the patterns present in the employee healthcare data while predicting if an employee would be at any health risks to understand the population health and the usage of premium coverage provided by the employer. Additionally, to apply an ensemble method called Stacking, where multiple predictive models will be combined to perform a prediction. An ensemble model will present the opportunity to build a more robust and accurate model which could be applied across various industries instead of being industry specific.

In addition, the real estate industry faces information costs, such as the cost of coordinating trusted information between dispersed parties in relation to contract enforcement information (Sinclair et al., 2022). Blockchain technology could help the real estate industry eliminate inefficiencies and inaccuracies (Deloitte, 2019). According to transaction cost theory, adopting blockchain technology has the potential to lower real estate transaction costs and enable lower ex-post transaction costs by reducing verification time (Dijkstra, 2017). Combining transparent real estate markets with more effective real estate transaction processes and lower transaction costs could create more liquid real estate markets (Dijkstra, 2017). Blockchain is a decentralized network that provides a high level of transparency and trust without the need for a central authority to vouch for accuracy (Akram et al., 2020; Kamble et al., 2019).
