I am a PhD scholar and faculty member at SZABIST Karachi and Bahria University. My work focuses on addressing social realities that are often overlooked or silenced, exploring them through literature, research, and critical analysis of policies shaping everyday life. As an educator, I challenge students to move beyond conventional methods and ethical frameworks, encouraging them to engage directly with societal complexities. My research-driven approach aims at fostering social change, policy reform, and curriculum innovation. I am open to collaborations on research projects, publications, and teaching opportunities, both remotely and onsite.

Background: The 19 th century was a pivotal period in history. It witnessed industrial, scientifi... more Background: The 19 th century was a pivotal period in history. It witnessed industrial, scientific, technological, and political revolutions and sparked philosophical, political, sociological, and psychological ideas that still shape our lives today. The initial foundations of these ideas were laid by three great thinkers: Marx, Nietzsche, and Freud. They lived in a time when religious authority was being questioned, mass uprisings were taking place and old traditional conservative thought patterns were diminishing. Through their search, they tried to challenge existential crisis, identify the forces controlling humans, and recognize the patterns that shape our thoughts and how we make sense of our world and reality. Marx investigated the origins of poverty, Nietzsche explored human power and suffering and Freud probed the complexities of madness.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is frequently characterized as the “sick man of Asia.” As a rela... more The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is frequently characterized as the “sick man of Asia.” As a relatively young state with a fragile and uneven pre-industrial economy, insufficiently consolidated national identity, heterogeneous demographic composition, and a persistent history of conflict, its relations with the international community have remained strained. The purpose of this research paper is to critically examine the challenges confronting Pakistan’s diplomatic engagements and to propose viable strategies through which the state can reconstruct and project a more favorable image within the international political and economic order. Adopting a qualitative methodological approach, the study concludes that Pakistan must recalibrate its foreign policy by embracing contemporary instruments of diplomacy, most notably economic, cultural, digital, and public diplomacy, to mitigate its negative image and enhance its global standing.

The main objective of this research is to highlight the issues faced by the transgender community... more The main objective of this research is to highlight the issues faced by the transgender community in Pakistan and to explore the ways through which they have attempted to challenge the label of “otherization” and overcome their status as marginalized citizens. This study provides an in-depth understanding of the term transgender and examines three different approaches used to define transgender identity. It further traces the historical background of the transgender community in the Indian subcontinent while connecting it with the contemporary situation of transgender rights in Pakistan.

This study aims to highlight the reliance of Pakistan's rural population on faith healers. As sev... more This study aims to highlight the reliance of Pakistan's rural population on faith healers. As several studies reviewed in this paper demonstrate, there has been a surge in faith healing practices across the country. While these practices are at times perceived as improving wellbeing, the alarming concern is overreliance on faith healers as the first point of contact, which contributes to delays in accessing formal healthcare. The study employed a qualitative meta-synthesis approach, identifying and analyzing existing literature across three domains: temporal, spatial, and relevance to the study's objectives. The findings revealed three recurring themes: 1) structural and economic barriers, 2) erosion of trust in medical practitioners, and 3) faith healers as custodians and safeguards against illness. The study concludes that the domain of faith healing in Pakistan remains unregulated and under-researched. Further primary studies in this area could provide healthcare policymakers with valuable insights to design interventions that secure and improve the lives of the rural population of Pakistan.

The study demonstrates the powerful application of sociology in understanding digital cultural expressions and public sentiment in real-world conflicts.

He writes unique, debated, and beloved short stories. Saadat Hasan Manto's short stories show how he pinches the veils of rotten society and politics with his keen nails and exposes them to his audience. Saadat Hasan Manto's hard and unemotional attitude toward human conduct masks his sharp consciousness, which stems from his sensitive observation of society. He reflects on oppression, injustice, and human dishonesty from near interactions in his short stories. A study is conducted to find Saadat Hasan Manto's sociological themes in his short stories and demonstrate their relevance to contemporary Pakistani society. Manto's forceful narrative, attitude toward society, understanding of good and evil, and ability to tell psychological twists made his writings the mirror of society, the report finds. His stories show society's bitterness and dark side. He depicts very real individuals and characters, and his readers saw a lot about trends, customs, society, and what was going on, compelling them to justify their own behavior and attitude toward self and society.

This study critically revisits Saskia Sassen’s foundational concept of the global city in light o... more This study critically revisits Saskia Sassen’s foundational concept of the global city in light of the transformations brought about by the digital economy, platform capitalism, and surveillance governance. Originally formulated to explain the spatial and institutional centrality of cities like New York, London, and Tokyo in coordinating global finance and advanced producer services, Sassen’s framework is assessed here against the current landscape of digital infrastructures, AI governance, and platform-based urban economies. Drawing on Manuel Castells’ network society theory, this research explores how contemporary global cities assert dominance not through traditional economic clustering alone, but through algorithmic governance, digital sovereignty, and the export of surveillance technologies. Case studies of New York, Singapore, and Shenzhen demonstrate how urban power is now embedded in data infrastructures, platform regulation, and predictive systems. The paper concludes that while Sassen’s core insights remain relevant, her model must be significantly expanded to incorporate the post-sovereign, infrastructural, and algorithmic dimensions of urban global influence.
