The paper describes the design and the implementation of PargreSQL parallel database management system (DBMS) for cluster systems. PargreSQL is based on PostgreSQL open-source DBMS and exploits partitioned parallelism. Presented experimental results show that this scheme is worthy of further development.

The paper introduces an approach to partitioning of very large graphs by means of parallel relational database management system (DBMS) named PargreSQL. Very large graph and its intermediate data that does not fit into main memory are represented as relational tables and processed by parallel DBMS. Multilevel partitioning is used. Parallel DBMS carries out coarsening to reduce graph size. Then an initial partitioning is performed by some third-party main-memory tool. After that parallel DBMS is used again to provide uncoarsening. The PargreSQL's architecture is described in brief. The PargreSQL is developed by authors by means of embedding parallelism into PostgreSQL open-source DBMS. Experimental results are presented and show that our approach works with a very good time and speedup at an acceptable quality loss.

The article presents the experience of teaching the discipline " Analysis of information technologies " in master program of IT-area. Analysis of IT is a relatively new and important discipline included in the curricula of master's curriculum in IT-area. Students must be able not only to master new technologies and platforms, but also to analyze the feasibility of their application, to develop corporate standards and functional profiles for information systems on the principles of open systems , to prepare the sets of tests to establish the conformance of the information systems to standards and profiles. In the South Ural State University, this discipline deals with the development of the information society, various indices estimating the level of readiness of society to effective function in the information environment: the networked readiness index, the e-government index, the ICT development index, and the knowledge economy index. The course includes a section on the study of e-competencies and qualifications. This deals with the European qualifications framework, their compliance with the Russian qualification framework, the European framework for e-Competence. A separate issue is the study of the Russian professional standards, defining 35 different sub-fields in the area of communication , information and communication technologies. For each sub-field the professional standard sets the qualification levels, job functions, a list of possible positions and the education requirements of the applicant for the position. The study of specific job functions permit the graduate to understand the requirements to him in the labor market clearly and to determine the point of the beginning of his career and its further development trajectory. Due to the proposed content, the course provides the teaching of norma-tive methodological, consulting and consortium activities. The proposed syllabus provides the implementation of a number of professional compe-tences of graduates related to management, consulting and taking part in the examination of both already existing and absolutely new information technologies. The article lists the different types of practical tasks that allow students fully recognizing its usefulness for the professional development of students and identifying the ways for their further development. There are the results of questioning of students upon the completion of teaching. Analysis of students' responses showed a high level of awareness of their competences and capabilities, understanding and adequate assessment of their own position in the contemporary IT-area.

The paper is devoted to a competence-oriented model of representation of educational content. The model is based on the requirements to results of educational programs in higher education and illustrates the approach to developing e-learning courses as structured sets of didactical units containing evaluation funds. Didactical units of training material are the content elements of e-learning encyclopedias. Evaluation funds of didactical units allow determining the level of graduates' competence. The multi-variant presentation of the training material helps to build individual learning trajectories for persons with disabilities, for students with different backgrounds and with different individual characteristics of personal and cognitive spheres.
