I compare the serial and parallel kinematic structures, which are the main carriers of industrial robots and manipulators. I show possibilities, advantages and disadvantages of both structures, the basic distribution and kinematics motion. Parallel mechanisms are characterized by their kinematic structure presented a closed kinematic chain. The end effector mechanism is coupled to the base of more than one arm. This design provides an advantage particularly high rigidity mechanism and other related properties. The disadvantage of such a construction is limited workspace. In terms of positioning and management of this structure because of its complexity rather problematic. It is a structure that allows quick positioning of the tool with three degrees of freedom. Control system with a mechanical part is actually built on the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The work focuses on testing the parallel kinematic structur...

They represent a relatively new generation of machine tools. Depending on the number of struts, the machines are referred to as hexapod or tripod machines. Such machines offer several advantages comparing to the conventional machine tools with serial kinematics, such as high flexibility, high stiffness, and high accuracy. It is very suitable for High- Speed-Machining (HSM), light machining and has received a wide interesting in manufacture industry. To achieve a desired positioning accuracy and stability, the static and dynamic properties of the machine must be searched and mathematically described. The calculation of the estimate of positioning deviation, including respective uncertainty and covariances, is much more complicated task comparing to the serial kinematics.

This problem was solved for Tricept device created at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Slovak University of Technology. A study which takes into account the parameter of the tricept motion was elaborated. This study deals with the problem of ambiguity of the position of reference point of the movable platform in extreme position and delimitation of the "safe work area", i.e. the area where ambiguity in the position of the reference point is impossible.

This system is primarily used for producing WPC products on the laboratory extruder EUROTECH EB30. The paper offers several designs of extrusion dies and examines their advantages as well as disadvantages. Based on this analysis, the best design is chosen and then flow simulations through a die and by FEA are done.

The results of the research can be applied in the design of jigs - manipulators for handling thin sheets. The FME analysis was used in the investigation to show the course of elastic deformations and stresses in stressed areas. An experimental observation of the change in the free deflection of the workpiece from the positioning of the suction cups under gravity load by means of a laser 3D scanner was carried out for the FEM deflection detection method.
