Howard's Garden City yielded to capitalist sprawl; Le Corbusier's Radiant City collapsed into mechanical sterility; Burgess's concentric models oversimplified socio-spatial realities; Jacobs revived neighborhood vitality but remained bounded by localism; Lefebvre exposed the politics of space without institutional remedies; Castells reframed cities as networks deepening digital divides; Toffler's global village exalted technological optimism while accelerating cultural erosion; and Smart City models, despite digital efficiency, reproduced surveillance capitalism and technocratic exclusion. In response, this study advances the Metaverse Spider-Web Urban Design Theory (MSWUDT), reimagining the city not as a machine, ring, or platform, but as a living, self-healing web. Ten interwoven strands-safety, socio-cultural vitality, governance, environmental resilience, economy, energy, infrastructure, mobility, justice, and technology-form its ontological fabric. Each strand embodies sustainability, while resilience emerges from their interdependence. The novelty of MSWUDT lies in its integrative ontology and actionable policy framework. IoT functions as sensory nerves, AI as anticipatory cognition, blockchain as transparent memory, and the Metaverse as an immersive arena for simulation, participation, and cultural reproduction. Collectively, these tools enable layered safety for vulnerable groups, reinforce cultural heritage, institutionalize transparent governance, embed ecological resilience, and catalyze circular economies. Ultimately, MSWUDT articulates not only a framework for resilient and sustainable urban futures but also a philosophical trajectory toward human rationality and perfectionism in the digital age, offering a planetary blueprint for cities resilient enough to bend, yet never break, in the era of the Metaverse.

Traditional models-linear, radial, and polycentric-fail to address the immersive, decentralized, and adaptive nature of future metaverse cities. The Metaverse Spider-Web Urban Design Theory, inspired by the resilience of spider webs, integrates ten core dimensions (security, socio-cultural, governance, environment, economy, energy, infrastructure, mobility, justice, technology) and positions Smart City as a transitional stage toward Metaversal Urbanism.

In Iran, more than 40% of energy consumption is related to residential buildings. On the other hand, studies in the field of climate solutions to reduce energy consumption in traditional Iranian buildings are limited, among the studies that have been conducted in this field, we can mention the article "Traditional Architecture Values of Semnan City in Optimizing Energy Consumption" written by Amir Hossein Salar, which describes the theoretical expression of architecture. Traditional has paid. In today's architecture, it is tried to ensure that the building can meet the thermal needs of the residents with minimal energy consumption, according to its design patterns. Meanwhile, traditional and native buildings in different climates of Iran are very suitable examples for examining the design patterns used in them. In this regard, this article aims to investigate the role of the orientation of the central courtyards of traditional houses in the hot and humid climate of Iran, from the point of view of optimizing the building's energy consumption and also creating thermal comfort for the residents. Hormozgan province is one of the hot and humid regions of Iran. In general, the weather of this province is influenced by desert and semi-desert weather. The weather of the coastal strip is very hot and humid in summers, but the temperature in this area does not exceed 52 degrees Celsius. The research process has been such that firstly, the site and the climate of the region, as well as the desired scenarios for the pattern of the central courtyards in the desired context, have been investigated and recognized. The increasing growth in the population of urban regions and the escalation of socioeconomic problems have forced human beings to live in matchbox apartments during the last a few decades. Modern human beings have to encounter different daily activities to make living; hence, having a shelter which can bring peace and relief has become a dream for him. Recent urban views and sights have been changed into apartments and tall towers in the residential areas which have made human habitats gloomy and bleak and have created several problems for modern citizens. It can be argued that, regardless of the internal peace of houses, urban citizens need beautiful and green natural views and sceneries far from the tensions of work environments so as to comfort their minds and imaginations. Projects for modernizing, optimizing and creating new urban spaces are realized in different areas for many years. The present study is intended to examine the concept and idea of green garden which has been proposed by developed countries. The concept of green garden was proposes as an attempt to fulfill tranquility, peace and a desirable habitat. The present study investigated and evaluated this proposition based on the following criteria: compatibility, desirability, efficiency, comfort, safety and health.

State-of-the-art O-OFDM approaches complying with IM-DD constraints are; directcurrent (DC) biased O-OFDM (DCO-OFDM) and asymmetrically clipped (AC)O-OFDM. ACO-OFDM has half the spectral efficiency (SE) of DCO-OFDM, howbeit, its SE can be augmented towards that of DCO-OFDM using layered ACO-OFDM (LACO-OFDM). Nevertheless, LACO-OFDM suffers from a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Forthright extension of PAPR reduction techniques devised for ACO-OFDM to LACO-OFDM can be unwieldy and complex. Hence, precoding can be an alternative to counterbalance the high PAPR without a considerable increase in complexity. As our contribution, we comprehensively investigate the performances of Fourier transform (FT) and Hartley transform (HT) precoding on LACO-OFDM. The bit error rate (BER) is analyzed in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and time dispersive channels. Furthermore, the impact of superimposition of layers, PAPR, electrical-to-optical power conversion efficiency and system complexities are also investigated.

Multimodulus algorithms (MMA) based adaptive blind equalizers mitigate inter-symbol interference ... more Multimodulus algorithms (MMA) based adaptive blind equalizers mitigate inter-symbol interference and recover carrier-phase in communication systems by minimizing dispersion in the in-phase and quadrature components of the received signal using the respective components of the equalized sequence in a decoupled manner. These equalizers are mostly incorporated in bandwidth-efficient digital receivers which rely on quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signaling. The nonlinearities in the update equations of these equalizers tend to lead to difficulties in the study of their steady-state performance. This paper presents originally the steady-state excess mean-square-error (EMSE) analysis of different members of multimodulus equalizers MMAp-q in a non-stationary environment using energy conservation arguments, and thus bypassing the need for working directly with the weight error covariance matrix. In doing so, the exact and approximate expressions for the steady-state mean-squareerror of several MMA based blind equalization algorithms are derived, including MMA2-2, MMA2-1, MMA1-2, and MMA1-1. The accuracy of the derived analytical results is validated using Monte-Carlo experiments and found to be in close agreement.

Multimodulus algorithms (MMA) based adaptive blind equalizers mitigate inter-symbol interference ... more Multimodulus algorithms (MMA) based adaptive blind equalizers mitigate inter-symbol interference in a digital communication system by minimizing dispersion in the quadrature components of the equalized sequence in a decoupled manner, i.e., the in-phase and quadrature components of the equalized sequence are used to minimize dispersion in the respective components of the received signal. These unsupervised equalizers are mostly incorporated in bandwidth-efficient digital receivers (wired, wireless or optical) which rely on quadrature amplitude modulation based signaling. These equalizers are equipped with nonlinear error-functions in their update expressions which makes it a challenging task to evaluate analytically their steady-state performance. However, exploiting variance relation theorem, researchers have recently been able to report approximate expressions for steady-state excess mean square error (EMSE) of such equalizers for noiseless but interfering environment. In this work, in contrast to existing results, we present exact steady-state tracking analysis of two multimodulus equalizers in a non-stationary environment. Specifically, we evaluate expressions for steady-state EMSE of two equalizers, namely the MMA2-2 and the βMMA. The accuracy of the derived analytical results is validated using different set experiments and found in close agreement.

In this paper, we present an overview of sensing methods based on Goodness-of-Fit tests. We discuss the performance of Energy Detector (ED) sensing, Anderson Darling (AD) sensing, Cram'er VonMises(CVM) sensing and Order Statistic (OS) sensing and we compare the results using Monte-Carlo simulations. It is shown that OS sensing outperforms ED sensing, CVM sensing and AD sensing. Next it is shown through simulations that the OS test statistic does not provide maximum probability of detection for a desired probability of false alarm and results are provided showing the regions of high probability of detection for desired probability of false alarm.

Unlike modulation classification based on K-S test, the proposed method evaluates the sum of the difference between the empirical distribution obtained from the features extracted from received signals and the hypothesized distribution for each modulation candidate in pool. The results have been evaluated using Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) for AWGN channel using Monte Carlo simulations. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that the proposed modulation classification method based on modified K-S test offers superior performance as compared to the method based on K-S test.

The proposed estimator is based on a rank discrimination test and uses a look-up table for SNR estimation. The performance of the proposed estimator is evaluated for 8APSK and 16APSK. It is shown through Monte-Carlo simulations that the proposed estimator outperforms existing NDA moment-based SNR estimators in terms of normalised mean-square error.
