This is an assignment which was given by my university. In this assignment, we have to select two materials from an electric kettle and describe the background information, Material related problems with the components, physical properties of the material and suitable candidate material for the component.

According to the businesses and marketing strategies, customer relationship management and call center outsourcing are becoming major concerns since customer satisfaction is considered as the ultimate goal of any kind of business organization. This paper discusses how the VoIP technology can be used in an automated remote PC troubleshooting environment along with Interactive Voice Response and remote desktop assistance, for the purpose of creating ultimate software based PC troubleshooting solution capable of operating with reduced human involvement in order to provide optimum availability, reliability and cost-effectiveness for PC related business organizations. In this solution, a call processing engine pre-processes incoming calls and redirects them into the Interactive voice response engine which is enforced with a built-in PC troubleshooting knowledge base capable of guiding the caller to a solution with voice commands. If the knowledge base fails to provide a reasonable solution, the remote assistance enables real-time interaction between the caller and a human trouble-shooter. This approach minimizes the current drawbacks of traditional PC troubleshooting and increases the productivity and the efficiency.

A multi channel data logging system is essential and useful in many Engineering applications especially where the environmental monitoring plays a significant role. Implementation of a low cost, universal data acquisition system based on analog multiplexer network is described in this paper. The system supports most of industrial analog and digital transducers where each universal input can be configured for any transducer in 2 wire, 3 wire or 4 wire mode. The analog front end of the system has been designed using low power CMOS analog multiplexer network, which acts as a universal interface to the transducers. The proposed system is ideal for battery operated low power data logging applications.

A self-balancing personal transporter which is based on the inverted pendulum concept has sufficient potential to provide solutions for the upcoming global issues in the transportation industry. However due to the expensive price range which the self-balancing scooters are introduced at and few safety issues, this concept has failed in reaching the hands and becoming popular among the majority of the society. Therefore this research paper consists of a comprehensive literature review on the existing models of the self-balancing transporter scooters, possible ways to reduce the initial cost of implementing a control unit for self-balancing transporter vehicles and methods to address the issues which generate along with the proposed
cost-reduction methods. Real-time comparison of Kalman and Complementary filtering processes are performed to sort out the optimum algorithm to estimate the true angle of the inclination of the self-balancing prototype. Similarly several forms of control system implementation are compared through simulations and real-time experiments to obtain the ideal motor response for variations in the position of the prototype.

Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are emerging as a mainstream electricity generation option in many parts of the world. However, achieving the frequency stability is a major challenge when the RES penetration is high. This paper investigates the impact of large-scale deployment of Photovoltaics (PVs) on equivalent inertia constant of the power system. In addition, this study examines the minimum frequency and the rate of change of frequency resulting in high penetration of PVs. Case studies are used to demonstrate the frequency dynamics of the projected Sri Lankan power system in 2020 and 2030 considering solar penetration and demand.
