Our approach is designed to capture security aspects related to business rules and constraints of MSPs, thus shaping the platform’s behaviour and the participants’ interaction and leading towards safer enterprise interoperability. We design the MSPs Privacy Requirements Framework and the MSPs Security Architecture, in order to cater for specific use case-centric and platform-centric cybersecurity requirements. To ensure compliance with the upcoming GDPR, we discuss the mapping between elicited cybersecurity requirements and GDPR rules. The new GDPR is expected to have significant implications on businesses in the EU, and our approach is designed to achieve full compliance with it.

This opens new opportunities for companies to extend their collaborative networks and develop innovative cross-platform and cross-domain applications. However, the heterogeneity of today’s platforms is a major roadblock for mass creation of IoT platform ecosystems, pointing at the current absence of technology enablers for an easy and innovative composition of tools/services from the existing platforms. In this paper, we present the Data Spine, a federated platform enabler that bridges IoT interoperability gaps and enables the creation of an ecosystem of heterogeneous IoT platforms in the manufacturing domain. The Data Spine allows the ecosystem to be extensible to meet the need for incorporating new tools/services and platforms. We present a reference implementation of the Data Spine ...

One of the most important facts about human understanding comes from the area of linguistics and semiotics. The semiotic techniques, such as syntagm and paradigm are explained through the examples in learning environment, in the context of logical understanding and knowledge representation on the Web.

Here, the Digital Twin demonstrator is presented as a method for the design and implementation of privacy enhancement mechanisms, and is used to detect privacy concerns and minimize breaches and associated risks to which smart car drivers can be exposed through connected infotainment applications and services. The Digital Twin-based privacy enhancement demonstrator is designed to simulate variety of conditions that can occur in the smart car ecosystem. We firstly identify the core stakeholders (actors) in the smart car ecosystem, their roles and exposure to privacy vulnerabilities and associated risks. Secondly, we identify assets that consume and generate sensitive privacy data in smart cars, their functionalities, and relevant privacy concerns and risks. Thirdly, we design an infrastructure for collecting (i) real-time sensor data from smart cars and their assets, and (ii) environmental data, road and traffic data, generated through operational driving lifecycle. In order to ensure compliance of the collected data with privacy policies and regulations, e.g. with GDPR requirements for enforcement of the data subject's rights, we design methods for the Digital Twin-based privacy enhancement demonstrator that are based on behavioural analytics informed by GDPR. We also perform data anonymization to minimize privacy risks and enable actions such as sending an automatic informed consent to the stakeholders.

The article starts with some introductory explanations of both Web-based and ubiquitous environments. In addition, an overview of the relevant research issues is given. These issues represent the key paradigms on which the conceptual design of the AmIART prototype is based, and embrace the following facets: Ambient Intelligence, online experimenting, and personalized adaptation. The main idea of the AmIART prototype is to give users the feeling of being in training laboratories and working with real objects (paintings, artifacts, experimental components). Then, the AmIART prototype for fine art online experimenting is discussed in the sense of e-collaboration. When online experiments are executed in the Semantic Web environment, remote control of experimental instrum...

UNDERSTANDER Business Intelligence Seeker — User agent

We develop a knowledge-based model that is grounded on the following three concepts: (i) Business Intelligence Model (BIM) developed by a Canadian project for BI technologies, (ii) taxonomy of Competitive Intelligence (CI) developed by CI practitioners, and (iii) Conceptual Dependency (CD) theory dealing with verb-oriented organization of knowledge. We also investigate whether knowledge-based models can be made adequate for the problem of gathering BI from web resources. Such a knowledge model can be used to “prime” a software agent and the agent can then search autonomously for relevant information on the Web. To express the interaction between agents, we consider “mechanism design”, which is a framework for designing interaction between self-interested agents to achieve specific outcomes. A BI Seeker is a multi-agent application developed in WADE. (Workflows and Agents Development Environment). WADE is an extension of JADE, a popular Open Source framework that brings workflow mechanisms to agents. We present the design of the BI Seeker as an application in the field of Industrial Internet.

The tremendous growth of media data combined with structured (linked) data promises further opportunities for digital market places. Although the integration of media content with linked data is only beginning there are already working groups and projects addressing this issue. We show how media and existing data sets can be seamlessly ...

Furthermore, we present a formal description of a model of content-oriented interaction. In order to consolidate the requirements, we had brainstorming discussions with the industrial partners to refine requirements that were extracted beforehand from selected publications and reports. Furthermore, studies from standardization consortia, active in the field of semantic interaction have been taken into account.

The main intention of this paper is to represent one approach to the realization of personalized adaptation in professional training and learning en-vironment. Our decentralized approach is based on using the eQ multi-agent system with the BDI agent rational model. The eQ agent system considers rele-vant contextual information about user’s traits and user devices, as well as con-tent information about different learning and training materials. The main aim of the eQ agent system is to enable better personalized adaptation, as well as better training and learning outcomes, by using proposed learning strategy. The potential benefits of using personalized adaptation in training environment are illustrated by using an example of fine art professional training. 1

The IKS will be a layered set of software components and specifications with the goal to improve the interaction with knowledge objects of CMSs by using Semantic Web technologies. In contrast to projects that benchmarked rather technical aspects of CMSs, we propose a model that evaluates CMSs consistently from the business perspective down to the technology layer. This approach is based on IT alignment theory that states that higher degrees of fit between business needs and IT result in increased business performance. Accordingly, IT executives of organizations that provide CMSs and IT executives of organizations that use CMSs as well as CMS developers are taken into account covering both business and technical aspects. The deliverable is structured as follows. First, we introduce the IKS project and pose relevant research questions that the IKS benchmark model for CMSs must address. Then, related work on CMS benchmarks, semantic technologies and applications is discussed from which shortcomings of exiting benchmarks are derived and implications for the design of the IKS benchmark model are drawn. Afterwards, we present the IKS benchmark model for CMSs, which describes a study-driven and experiment-driven approach to compare CMSs. Consistent with the model, questionnaire items for the study targeted at IT executives of CMS customer and provider organizations and implementation tasks for the experiment targeted at CMS developers are provided. Finally, we conclude this deliverable by a summary and an outlook on the next steps within the IKS project.

Current learning environments are typically web based but they usually do not take into account heterogeneous needs of users and provide the same learning material to students with different knowledge, objectives, interests, and in different contexts. Therefore in the WP1 we want to integrate the variety of perspectives on personalized and adaptive learning. Currently there is no technical standard for the communication between the various ...

Emotional intelligence represents an essential part for effective communication, adaptability/adaptivity and personal satisfaction. In this paper we propose and describe an adaptive educational hypermedia system, called eQ. The main aim is to describe adaptation to the individual user traits that can be modeled in the form of stereotypical user model. Also, we show the way ...
