In power system to discriminate faults from switching transients a new method is proposed in this paper. In this method before the occurrence of first peak of the fault current, fast fault detection and fast fault clearing are essentially required for stable power system. An Example of this system is in an industrial system where bulk power is desired but there high short-circuit currents cannot be measured. Here we are proposing the method of Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) to perform the task of discrimination of Faults and transients. The power system model is developed and simulated for fault performance analysis. MATALB simulations have been performed and the output of the PLL is found completely different for a fault, as compared to a Switching Transient. This difference is being used in this work for discrimination between a fault and a Switching Transient. This capability of discrimination is useful for the safety and stability of the power system. Due to the lack of conventional energy sources, world is moving towards renewable energy sources as an alternative for the energy needs. As these are pollution free and cheap, these are very useful. Fuel Cell energy and solar energy are examples of renewable energy sources which give a small amount of DC In this paper the boost converter is designed for the renewable energy sources like fuel cell, solar cell etc. The output of this source is fed to the Boost Converter to get required output for use in different application. Two types of controllers PI Controller and Fuzzy controller are used to control the output. With reference to it is seen that Peak Overshoot of PI controller is 45.0866 V while output of Fuzzy Controller has no oscillations and with reference to it is seen that settling time of PI controller is 120 ms while of Fuzzy Controller is 17 ms. So it can be said that Fuzzy controller is better than conventional PI controller.

The Solar power varies mainly depends on the weather conditions. Many new algorithms have been projected to track the maximum power point (MPPT) of the solar system. This paper, presents a comparative study of two intelligent control methods in order to optimize the efficiency of the solar PV system. This paper presents in details comparative study between Incremental conductance algorithm and fuzzy Logic controller algorithm applied to a DC-DC Boost converter device. The Boost converter increases output voltage, it is depends on the duty cycle of switch device. The proposed controllers are adjusting the duty cycle of the DC-DC converter switch to track the maximum power of a solar PV array. Finally performance comparison between Incremental conductance and Fuzzy logic controller method has been carried out which has result shown the effectiveness of Fuzzy controller to draw more energy, decreases fluctuations and fast response, against change in variable weather condition. The final result show the fuzzy logic controller exhibits a better performance compared to Incremental conductance. Internal structure of the fuzzy logic system Fuzzy Rule base and inference engine: Fuzzy rule base is a combination of if-then functions that are used for the fuzzified all inputs for the controlled parameters. Fuzzy rules dependent on operation of the system and experience. In this study, the fuzzy rules include twenty-five fuzzy control rules with specific range of membership functions being considered fuzzy inference engine is an operating process method that formulates a logical decision based on the fuzzy rule. The fuzzy rules should be transferred into fuzzy linguistic output. In this paper mamdani is fuzzy inference method has been used with max-min operation fuzzy combination has been used.

This paper reviews the applications of power electronic for wind energy systems. Various wind turbine systems with different generators and power electronic converters are described. The electrical topologies of wind farms with different wind turbines and the possible uses of power electronic converters with wind farms are discussed. Finally, the possible methods of using the power electronic technology for improving wind turbine performance in power systems to get synchronize with the main grid connection are discussed.

This paper review the key role of microbial fuelcells(MFC) in renewable energy. It is well known that the conventional sources are not sufficient to meet the present load demands. It became essential to utilize renewable sourcesof energy. Microbial fuel cell is a novel technology for sustainable energy generation. Microbial fuel cells are very interesting in the field of renewable energy because bacteria in indigenous microorganisms or waste water can produce enough electricity to power small devices. This paper describes an MFC energy harvesting scheme using a hysteresis controller and two layers of DC/DC converters.

This paper shows the potential benefits of simple tracking of solar system using a DC motor and light sensor. LDR sensors are used here to detect the maximum efficiency position and they sends signal to micro controller to adjust the position of the panels with the help of motor drive used. The output power received by the system using LDR control system is improves as compare to the system with out tracking applied.
