Mary Jane Curry

My research and teaching focus on academic knowledge production: writing and publishing for doctoral students, educational linguistics, and doctoral seminars on globalization, language and literacy. I also direct our Writing Support Services. I do research on academic literacy/literacies (first and second language), particularly on writing for publication. I am broadly interested in questions of access to higher education via academic discourse, and have done research on immigrants, 'non-traditional' students in the UK, multilingual scholars in southern and central Europe, and engineering students, post-docs, and faculty writing for publication.
