B Roy H.S School, Studied B.A. (Honours) in Philosophy (with Education and Bengal) at Netaji Mahavidyalaya (The University of Burdwan) and M.A. (Philosophy with specialization in Nyāya) at Rabindra Bharati University, Emerald Bower Campus, 56A, B.T. Road, Kolkata – 700 050.I have a deep passion for various ascepts of Indian philosophies and religions, specially Nyāya Philosophy, Advaita Vedanta, and seeing Western philosophies from a comparative lens. My other area of interests are Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethics, Existentialism, Religion, Philosophy of Science, Al Ethics, and Consciousness. From the beginning of philosophy, different types of theories have emerged in the East and the We... more From the beginning of philosophy, different types of theories have emerged in the East and the West. The inference has been widely discussed in both philosophy. In Indian philosophy, the inference is called the act of inferring (something unknown from the knowledge data). But in Western philosophy, the inference is a process by which one proposition is arrived at and affirmed on the basis of one or more other propositions accepted as the starting point of the process. Inference in Indian philosophy is the second praman and it is western philosophy perspective belief. In this paper, I will discuss inferences from an East and West perspective. Both East and West logic have contributed to the development of philosophy, science, and mathematics. East Logic known as Nyāya Logic. On the other hand, Western Logic also known as Aristotle Logic. East Logic based on the Inference and Analogy. But Western Logic is based on the principles of deduction and inference.

There is a lot of interest in the development and characterization of new biomarkers for screenin... more There is a lot of interest in the development and characterization of new biomarkers for screening large populations for disease. In much of the literature on diagnostic testing, increased levels of a biomarker correlate with increased disease risk. However, parametric forms are typically used to associate these quantities. In this article, we specify a monotonic relationship between biomarker levels with disease risk. This leads to consideration of a nonparametric regression model for a single biomarker. Estimation results using isotonic regression-type estimators and asymptotic results are given. We also discuss confidence set estimation in this setting and propose three procedures for computing confidence intervals. Methods for estimating the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve are also described. The finite-sample properties of the proposed methods are assessed using simulation studies and applied to data from a pancreatic cancer biomarker study.

He guided the society of India, resulting in a wave of revolution in every sector of the country. The main aim of this research paper is to discuss the content related to Raja Rammohan Roy’s ‘Dharma Darshan’. Raja Rammohan Roy’s life and work ‘Dharma’ occupies the highest place. Dharma is the most important of the four Purusharthas. The word ‘Dharma’ is derived from ‘Dhri’ dhatu. ‘Dhri’ dhatu means to possess. Dharma is said to be ‘Sarvasya Dharakam’ meaning Dharma encompasses everything. Indian philosophy says that religion is that which holds every human being and is capable of holding the entire human society as a result. To maintain the existence and continuity of the individual and the society, it is the duty to practice religion. Raja Rammohan Roy was influenced by Hinduism, Christianity, Muslim and Buddhism. Raja Rammohan Roy was influenced by many religions but he believed in monotheism. According to him service of man is the best way to worship God and God is the controller, administrator and ruler of the world and the compassionate life is religion. He talks about the theoretical and practical aspects of religion. He thinks that people are born with the feeling of religion and religion is the only best path. And he calls religion and ethics complementary to each other. For him, the highest Ideal of religion is salvation. This salvation is not the fulfillment of any spiritual form or attainment of heaven. Rather, this salvation is a temporary state of freedom from suffering. Which is the state of Self-knowledge or Brahmajnana. And this is what he considered to be the ultimate fulfillment.

According to the principles of Nyãya philosophy, the second substance is the Prameya or the knowledge. Prameya or the knowledge are twelve substances. The first known substance of these is the soul. Ātman is the creator of all happiness and sorrow, the consumer of happiness and sorrow, the knower of happiness and sorrow. The soul is eternal, embodied, beginningless and many in number. The soul is dual. Namely:-1.Jīvātmā, 2.Paramãtmã. Tattva knowledge about soul-like matter leads to salvation by discarding all false knowledge of that subject. The main topic of this article is to discuss eternal life based on Nyãya philosophy. But there are many doubts about whether the soul is eternal. Therefore, in Nyãya philosophy, Vedas have accepted the eternality of life by neutral reasoning.

Nyãya Philosophy is one of the theistic Philosophical School. Maharishi Gautama discusses the sixteen types of substances in the first Sūtras of the first Ānvīkṣikī of the first chapter of the Nyãyadarshan. It is only through the knowledge of these sixteen types of substances that inexhaustible Salvation is attained. According to Nyãya Philosophy, Pratyakṣa (perception) is the eldest pramãna. According to Gautama, the realization of right feeling is the proof. According to Purvapakshi Skeptics and Nihilists, Gautama's Nyãyashãstra fails because the theory of a substance is not possible in any form, so it is illogical that the theory of another substance is accomplished by evidence. Maharishi Gautama long ago invented and supported this premise by refuting the evidence of direct evidence. The Main focus of the Present Article is to discuss in detail how Maharishi Gautama discussed in Pratyaksa (perception) Pramãna by presenting and refuting Purvapakshi.

In this research paper, I will try to compare their humanistic thinking. From their comparative discussion it is clear that both are representative thinkers of their era. They have important contribution to people and society. Ray and Sartre both represent two different cultures and societies of the world. They both are very different from each other. The culture, nature, manners, lifestyle were completely different. It is a very difficult task to compare two great philosophers because of two different cultures, social backgrounds and different circumstances, but comparing their thoughts as well as their philosophical beliefs will certainly be interesting and useful.
