IranDoc was founded in September 1968 with the aim of promoting and developing information manage... more IranDoc was founded in September 1968 with the aim of promoting and developing information management, training for research cooperation and supporting science and technology activities in Iran. Today, it is one of the most successful research and information centers that has been able to initiate valuable policies for the development of its information materials, databases, and human resources. Also, Irandoc has been trying to launch and provide several systems based on the latest developments to provide better services. Now, with the beginning of the second half century of its activities, it is necessary to consider certain measures and activities to guide research policies by processing and creating added value out of its resources and services. For this purpose, a list of activities are suggested in this paper such as reviewing the user interface of the systems and considering the possibilities of obtaining output for research activities, removing repeated registrations and obtaining different services with one account, collecting and organizing research projects and theses of a wide range of universities under the authority of the two Iranian ministries (the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education) as well as non-governmental institutions of higher education, providing scientometric services based on the data available in Irandoc systems, setting up a huge system of questionnaires and checklists, picking up sources at the end of theses and presenting them independently as well as creating a link between the sources and the text, launching a system of suggested research topics, strengthening the resources of Irandoc through public appeals, and holding the festival of "Research in Research".

The aim of this study was to examine the awareness, attitudes and practices of public librarians ... more The aim of this study was to examine the awareness, attitudes and practices of public librarians in Qom province regarding green information literacy and their role in environmental conservation. Method: This applied research employed a descriptive-survey method. The statistical population includes 75 librarians working in 24 public libraries in Qom province, from whom 40 were selected through stratified random sampling and responded to a researcher-developed questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software with descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results: The librarians had a moderate understanding of green information literacy, with more than half being unfamiliar with the concept prior to the study. However, they demonstrated a positive attitude toward environmental protection and high motivation to engage in eco-friendly activities, although limitations such as a lack of educational resources and weak institutional support hindered practical implementation. The results also indicated that public libraries can play a crucial role in raising environmental awareness among users and librarians, through information dissemination, training and awareness programs as well as contributing significantly in the promotion of green information literacy. Conclusion: This study highlights the need to expand environmental education for librarians, develop supportive policies within related library institutions, and enhance collaboration between libraries and environmental organizations. Future studies are recommended to extend the research scope to other provinces and employ qualitative methods to gain deeper insights into the challenges and opportunities in this field.

The research results indicate that the design and creation of these repositories are the outcomes of collaborative efforts among various departments within an organization. University library staff can play a crucial role in fostering communication with faculty members and, through their collaboration, create new opportunities for knowledge production. They, along with computer and software specialists and managers of organizational knowledge repositories, can be responsible for designing, evaluating, and maintaining the output processes for digital collections. For this reason, one of the primary tasks and responsibilities of librarians in academic libraries is knowledge management, particularly the establishment and administration of an academic organizational knowledge repository. In this context, the purpose of the current study is to examine the role of academic libraries in the design and development of an organizational knowledge repository. Method: The method employed in this research is the library or documentary method. Initially, the study reviews existing research on organizational knowledge repositories, followed by a discussion of their definition and the necessity of their establishment in universities. Furthermore, the role of libraries and university librarians is examined as a new function in the creation and expansion of organizational knowledge repositories, in alignment with the research objectives. Findings: University libraries play a crucial role in knowledge and information management due to their expertise in organizing information, utilizing metadata, and their familiarity with copyright and open access licenses. University librarians, due to their direct connections with knowledge production sources within universities-such as professors, students, and researchers-can play a fundamental role in encouraging authors to submit their materials to knowledge repositories. Doctoral programs, by offering specialized training across diverse fields, play a pivotal role in cultivating a skilled and specialized workforce. Through the acquisition of specific attributes, doctoral students can serve as a highly skilled labor force within organizations, contributing to increased efficiency and productivity. The objective of this study is a systematic review of existing research on the characteristics of doctoral students to identify these qualities, assess the current state of research in this domain, and pinpoint research gaps. Methodology: This applied research employed a systematic review methodology adhering to the Kitchenham and Charters model (2007) to identify the anticipated characteristics and indicators of doctoral students. The process entailed: Establishing the research necessity, formulating research questions, identifying reliable databases, and Determining relevant keywords. A three-stage screening process, examining titles, abstracts, and full content, was employed to eliminate irrelevant and duplicate items. This yielded a final dataset of 135 studies (92 foreign and 43 domestic), comprising journal articles, conference papers, and theses. Findings: The focal point of this research is to investigate four primary inquiries concerning the anticipated attributes of doctoral students. The first inquiry pertains to the expected personal characteristics of doctoral students. These personal characteristics have been categorized into three domains: behavioral, psychological, and ethical.

تحلیل محتوای داستانهای دفاع مقدس منتشر شده برای کودکان و نوجوانان بین سالهای 1394-1375

هدف اصلی این پژوهش، بررسی کتاب‌های داستانی دفاع مقدس منتشر شده برای کودکان و نوجوانان بین سال‌های... more هدف اصلی این پژوهش، بررسی کتاب‌های داستانی دفاع مقدس منتشر شده برای کودکان و نوجوانان بین سال‌های 1375 تا 1394 است که با استفاده از روش تحلیل محتوا صورت گرفته‌است. جامعه پژوهش را تعداد 97 عنوان کتاب داستانی منتشر شده در حوزه دفاع مقدس تشکیل می‌دهند که با استفاده از اطلاعات موجود در وب‌سایت خانه کتاب ایران انتخاب و با پر کردن چک لیست برای هر کدام از آنها مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفتند. یافته‌ها نشان داد که برای نوشتن ۹۷ عنوان، 80 نفر (5/82 درصد) مرد و 13 نفر (4/13 درصد) زن مشارکت داشتند. از نظر سال انتشار، سال‌های 1383 و 1390 بیشترین و سال‌های 1384 و 1390 کمترین آثار را به خود اختصاص دادند. از ۹۷ کتاب بررسی شده تعداد 46 عنوان (4/47درصد) توسط ناشران دولتی و 51 عنوان (6/52 درصد) توسط ناشران خصوصی منتشر شده بود. از نظر موضوعی، بیشترین فراوانی مربوط به آثاری است که به صورت غیرمستقیم به جبهه اشاره کرده‌اند و در میان این موضوعات پرکاربردترین آنها، موضوع سرگذشت‌نامه شهیدان با 4/36 درصد هستند.

A Survey On The Public Library Members' Loyalty Covered by the Iran Public Libraries Foundation, Case Study: Tabriz Public Libraries

The purpose of this study was to measure the public library members's loyalty (covered by the pub... more The purpose of this study was to measure the public library members's loyalty (covered by the public library institution of the country) in Tabriz city according to the systematic viewpoint. Methodology: The research is applied in a descriptive way. The statistical population consists of 4,427 new members (17,138 people) of public libraries in 2015 and renewed their membership in 2016, They are called as customers' loyal. Using a random sampling method from the Krejsi and Morgan table, 351 people were selected. Data were collected by a researcher-made check list and required data were extracted from the system. SPSS22 software was used to analyze the data. In analyzing data, descriptive statistics were used at frequency, graph, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics in independent t-test, one-way ANOVA and Chi-square test. Findings: The findings showed that women with a 52/6% membership extension in 2016 were in the majority. The highest frequency of extension members with 62% is related to the age group of 19 to 40 years. The age group of 13 to 18 years old with 19% and the age group of 7 to 12 years old with 9% ranked in the scond and, third. Conclusion: The results showed that the total loyalty rate of the members of Tabriz public libraries was 26%.

This study aimed to draw a scientific map and analyze the clusters of research published in the f... more This study aimed to draw a scientific map and analyze the clusters of research published in the field of social network applications to libraries and information centers using documents indexed in Web of Science. Methods: This research is applied research conducted using content analysis and a descriptive-analytical approach. The statistical population is 307 publications in the field of social networks in libraries and information centers, indexed in Web of Science between 2016 and 2020. The data collection tool is a researcher-made checklist. Excel and scientometric softwares were used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed that the keywords of social media, academic libraries, social network, and social network analysis have the highest frequency. The findings also indicated that the subject area of social networks includes nine clusters; the main cluster is related to the second cluster, which is mainly associated with social media and consists of 13 keywords. Conclusions: The results of the research show that social networks had a special role and position in the field of library and information sciencein 2018. The number of publications in this field in 2020 is far less than the previous years and the number of published works in this year has been decreasing. According to the research done on social networks and their various aspects, much research has been conducted, and all its aspects have been investigated. However, the investigation of research in this area with an emphasis on its application in libraries and information centers has not been done, and the present study can familiarize researchers with the conducted research and guide them to conduct applied research to fill the existing gaps.

Extracted from Web of Science database, 6837 articles were surveyed for the growth rate, core journals, core authors, average citation rate, effective authors, countries’ contributions, lexical co-occurrence map, most frequent key terms, thematic domains and published formats. Ravar Matrix, USI Net and R environment were utilized to analyze the data. Abstract Objectives: Considering the importance and functional role of social networks in librari... more Abstract Objectives: Considering the importance and functional role of social networks in libraries, the present research intends to examine the use of types of social networks by the libraries of Makta member of Qom province. Method: The present research is an applied research in terms of the purpose of the research. A descriptive approach has been used to survey this research. The statistical communty of this study consists of 30 libraries of 34 members of the Makta member libraries. A researcher-made questionnaire was distributed among the directors of the Makta member libraries in order to collect data. Because of the limited research community, all of them were studied and sampling was not done. Results: Findings showed that libraries are The most use social networks in social media. Working with other libraries and training the second and third ranks. In library lending, social networks are also used to reserve the resources requested in use a littlebit. The findings also showed that web-mobile computing tools were the most with 25.7% and microblocking tools with the lowest use rate of 4.2% in libraries. Conclusion: The results of the research show that only 40% of the member libraries of Makta use social networks to manage their library affairs. To analyze the data, descriptive and chi-square test was used for data validation. The results show that there is a significant relationship between creativity and organization.

Background and aim: The aim of this study was to analyze and draw up a citation network of publis... more Background and aim: The aim of this study was to analyze and draw up a citation network of published schizophrenia-related resources in Iran from 2012 to 2016 so that this citation network provides a guidance for researchers and acquisition in information centers by specifying the status of resources and researchers in Iran. Material and methods: The current study was conducted through citation analysis method and using social network analysis. The study population was 5303 citations extracted from the list of 180 papers published in the field of schizophrenia in Iran. NodeXL software was used to analyze and draw the citation network and Excel software was applied for statistical calculations. Findings: There are 3 components in the citation network of schizophrenia-related articles. In the largest component, there are 2395 people who have cited each other 5287 times, and the network diameter is 12. This study aims to assess the published books in library and information science in Iran, with 58... more This study aims to assess the published books in library and information science in Iran, with 583 books being evaluated using the bibliometric method. In order to review the books of information science and knowledge studies, bibliometrics method was used. The research population was the books published in the information science and knowledge studies during 2006-2016. The total number of books published during these years was 764 books and, for this research, the books that had been reprinted were removed and; finally, the total number of books was 583. The data collection tools were a researcher-made checklist that was approved by the members of the faculty of the information science and knowledge studies department. The findings showed that according to the review of the academic syllabi in 2010 and 2014, most works were published in 2011 and 2015. In addition, 78% of the works were compiled, and 24% were translated. About 55.7% of 476 authors were women, while 44.3% were men. With over ten works, Hamid Mohseni and Rahmatullah Fattahi were the most prolific writers in this field. Besides, 83% of the books had been published in Tehran, and the rest had been published in other cities. Ketabdar & Chapar publication, National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, The Center for Study and Compiling University Books in Humanities, and Payame Noor University were the top 5 publishers in this field. Price surveys showed that the price of the published books was on the rise, reaching the highest level in 2015 and 2016. The three topics of information organization, library and information science, and test books were the most widely published. On the other hand, less attention has been paid to scientometrics, bibliometrics, webometrics, information management, and social networks.

Methodology: 42 pieces of research divided in2 categories (11 published as articles and 31 titles as M. A. and PhD thesis) were analyzed. Findings: The selected researches have been categorized on 3 categories: a) The Content analysis of written fictions (34 researches) b) The Content analysis of translated fictions(4 researches) c) The Content analysis of poetry (4 researches). Also about 24 researches study on a special area in children written fictions. Originality/Value: content analysis can be a showcase of all studies that have been performed in the past. The survey of the role and the situation of the different university courses, kind of universities (such as government and nongovernment universities), and the role of persons who are affecting and leading MA and PhD thesis, are the most important attributions of this study.
